Having lunch here with my son Matt, after visiting Barto, PA where St Padre Pio USA shrine and museum is located. We ordered crab Mac n cheese, their famous barn nachos and smoked pig sandwich with potato salad on the side. The barn nachos are full of mixed ingredients, smoke pig, manchego cheese, pickled jalapeños cheese sauce, sour cream and toasted tortillas. It's delicious. The toasted brioche with smoked pig's meat blended well with potato salad on the side. Taste great. The crab Mac n cheese is creamy and delicious. Nice place and good decor setting inside a real barn set-up where the bar is centrally located. Outside backyard patio tables with oversized umbrellas, overlooking a creek, nice view. Serving staff is courteous and helpful. Cost at $$ of their serving entrees are at an average size. Clean separate Men and Women's bathroom.

My wife and a friend went to Barn for lunch. There is outside seating which is very nice and the food was just as good as pre-Covid.

This traditionally comes with purple rice, napa cabbage, kimchi, cucumbers, spicy broccoli, carrots, spicy sprouts, fried egg, slow-roasted pork and Korean BBQ sauce. I struggle when a dish has too many spicy ingredients and specially kimchi is just too much for me to be able to handle. I requested the kimchi on the side so I could try the dish as it was meant to be tasted but without the commitment of having all that spice in my bowl. They did provide kimchi on the side but what I did not realize was that there was kimchi covering the rice under the other layers. The heat was just too much for me and I was unable to eat the majority of the dish. That being said, what I could eat was delicious. Grains cooked to perfection and tossed in the bbq sauce. Broccoli that was crunchy and had the slightest kick. And tender and juicy pulled pork. If you like the heat, this is a good one. And if you are like me and a bit more sensitive, keep a close eye on the dish as they make it. The place is your run of the mill chain restaurant, nothing fancy and very casual. Service is at the counter much like a chipotle or subway. The restaurant was generally clean with a few dirty tables. The highlight for me was the lemonade/drink bar. Fresh juices and lemonades with unexpected ingredients like cardamom and red beets. I will definitely be going back and giving this place a second chance in the future.

It's open Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. My friend and I made our first visit early Friday evening. The service was good, and the food more than lived up to expectations. We started with tender, well-seasoned beef skewers, crispy buffalo wings over blue cheese, and perfectly cooked roasted cauliflower paired with a tasty tzatziki sauce and pickled onion. For my entree, I ordered the maple-glazed short rib. It was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and came with creamy sweet potato puree and roasted shallots. My friend ordered the rich, deeply flavorful bolognese. Although she received the small plate portion rather than the entree, it wasn't a major issue as we had more than enough food. There are still many items on the menu I'd like to try, and after such a strong first visit, I'll most certainly be back.

But few people think about the importance of the bread. It is the vessel that holds all the deliciousness together. A new sandwich shop, The Hive, just up from Triangle Park in Emmaus is focusing on hoagie-style sandwiches made with fresh French bread from next-door neighbor, Egypt Star Bakery. Which has mouthwatering bread that makes the sandwich complete, and all your mouth buds open up, and dancing around. The Hive has had a soft opening with a small menu of "whole" and "half" sandwiches. A whole is about two feet long. Options include Italian (honey ham, Genoa salami, capicola with provolone cheese); ham and cheese; turkey and cheese; and tuna. You can also get those options as pita wrap sandwiches. The Hive also has a few sides such as cole slaw, hummus with pita, chips and cheddar mac salad. Since they just opened, give them no time, they will have more selections. This is a must try and support your local new business. We need to keep them around.
