I think I've found my go-to cafe to get work done in the area. Great ambiance. Very cozy and I had easy access to outlets. Missy the owner was wonderful to chat with and I appreciate that she didn't laugh at me too hard when I told her I want to put on plays in her place. The food is great too!! If you know me you know I loved baked goods and after hearing good things from friends of mine I decided to give Baked a try. So Baked is a small bakery located on Main St in Emmaus, they focus on dessert side of baking, mostly cookies, bars, scones and things like that. Everything is made in the shop. They also have gluten free items as well. You can even get a salad or Iced Coffee if you want to. The baked goods were good, nice and fresh. The lime coconut bar was great, the orange cranberry scone was very good, but I was let down by the peanut butter cookie sandwich, the filling was lacking flavor. The Iced coffee was also good, I like that the ice cubes were made with coffee. The service was good, she was friendly and answered our questions and gave us recommendations. The inside looks basic but gets the job done. This place is also cheaper than I expected with the boom in gourmet cookie places charging $5 a cookie, this place is a steal at less than half that for some stuff. Overall a very good local bakery to stop in when ever your looking for a sweet treat. read more

The owners and staff are friendly and courteous and I like being around them. It's a place where you can have a nice very delicately brewed cup of coffee. However, you cannot have espresso. I am an espresso drinker so that is the only thing I can say about this place is that they don't have espresso. But, go here go here go here because this place is wonderful! read more

A cute location and probably a lovely spot to grab a morning coffee or tea. The staff was friendly and orders came out quickly, that was about as good as it got though. I ordered a lemon cake with lemon curd and orange buttercream for a party and was disappointed. The cake itself was extremely dense and the curd was applied unevenly and too thinly, the buttercream was the best part. We threw the cake out after everyone tried a slice. The sandwiches were okay but nothing special. The Focaccia Bread was drier and tougher than I'd have liked and wasn't seasoned. For the size of the sandwich to not include a side like a pickle or a small bag of chips felt like I was being nickled and dimed. Much more of a cafe than a bakery IMO. read more

Awesome, staff and excellent cakes, I asked if they would bake a specific cake recipe, Cherry Chocolate Cake. At first Missy was a bit hesitant, but I convinced her it wasn't that hard, and I was buying the cake either way. So, went to pick it up the next day, it was beautifully decorated and delicious when we cut it up and served it for a birthday party. Baked is a favorite go-to place to grab a coffee with a friend. I just love it. Also - Their cookies are about the best things I can think of - particularly the peanut butter and the molasses... The staff is friendly, the sandwich options are great - I'm a fan of the brie and ham, but they're all good. Also - I believe baked is the only place in town or any place outside of Philly and NYC where I can get La Columbe coffee... which is very, very good. I can't recommend this place enough. Adorable little cafe in downtown Emmaus. After spending multiple days sitting at the hospital with a sick family member and not being able to eat anything in the cafeteria I decided to stop on here one morning for a bite. They had a nice selection of gluten free items to choose from both sweet and savory which is awesome. I highly recommend the monkey muffin. It was moist and flavorful with a banana and coconut. Came here for lunch with the Bf before shopping at the South Mall. The bread the sandwiches were made with was so yummy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We left with some baked goodies to walk around the mall with. The Monster chocolate chip cookie did not even make it to the mall. It was devoured! The texture and melted chocolate chips were perfection! I think 4th st cookies has met their match, no more drives to philly..at least not for cookies. Some baked goods were out for purchase, but the owner said most specific goodies needed to be preordered. There were some vegan chocolate cupcakes, but honestly they were a bit petite for my huge sweet tooth. I had an apple galette? (I'm sad to say it wasn't the dumpling, which I was hyped to have after seeing LVStyle mag. piece on them) Anyways, I toasted it up when I returned home. It was yummy but I'm not sure if it's anything to write home about. Overall, I'd definitely come back for cookies and maybe a sandwich to split if I was going to the mall. If there was fresh bread for purchase I would buy a loaf. Definitely, looking forward to preordering some other sweets in the future once it warms up and walk Emmaus's main st. It's a little neighborhood cafe that will leave your questioning why you would ever subject yourself to another chain coffee shop. That being said, they don't have an espresso machine, but they do have fab coffee and will warm milk for you. I've tried many of the muffins, vegan/gluten free offerings and I've never been disappointed. Recently I tried the turkey sundried tomato and mozzarella sandwich, it was awesome-I can't wait to try more lunch options. The space is small, a few tables inside and a few on the front porch. I was wary when I saw that this place had all 5 star reviews and only one 4 star - I thought maybe it was all friends/family/employees or such, but after today's visit, I say this place definitely is deserving of all the 5 stars. I'm from this area, originally, but now live across the country. I've lived only in big cities with a wealth of great food for over a decade now. I get really frustrated when I come back to the Lehigh Valley to visit my family, as it's really hard to find the quality and variety of food that I like & am accustomed to. (Also - COFFEE. Good coffee is RARE in the Lehigh Valley. Why is it so hard to find? In my late teens and early 20s, I used to hang at the Hava Java, Godfrey Daniels, etc... But it's all gone downhill. To be fair, I now live in the Coffee Capital of the US so maybe I have outrageous standards.) I was sad to hear that the little coffee place that had been here previously was gone. Then Mom told me about Baked - so happy to see that they took over the space! The space is really nice and the offerings are awesome. We got a couple Sandwiches and lots of pastries. My French Press coffee (La Colombe!) was excellent - they do it proper and give you your own little press to pour. That's nearly 2 mugs full, for $2. My mom got the sandwich with ham, Brie, and honey mustard. I didn't try it, but she said it was very good. (My 3 and a half year old son stole & ate half so it must have been.) I got the turkey, red pepper jam, and Gouda sandwich - it was wonderful, a really great, balanced combination. The jelly was perfect. I read on the website that they had espresso almond cookies, so that was my goal. Also couldn't resist getting the chocolate peanut butter bar, a morning bun, and chocolate chip cookies to go. I had to take a bite of each (still full from sandwiches & coffee! And glad today is a running day! Lol) The espresso almond thin is divine - crunchy, nutty flavor. Almond & espresso perfectly balanced. The chocolate peanut butter bar is a huge chunk of heaven (it IS huge - get one and split with someone). The peanut butter isn't too sweet and they are NOT stingy with the pb layer, it's half the bar. I am a sucker for a good cinnamon bun - their "Morning Bun" is awesome. (We got one with just sugar, no icing... I suspected all these pastries would NOT last more than a couple days, so I figured I'd spare my waistline the extra icing!) And the choc Chip cookies are exactly as I like them - crisp around the edges. We did sit and wait quite awhile for them to bring our sandwiches out, but it looked like they were still training someone new and then there was a sudden rush of people an hour before closing time. It was gorgeous out, plenty of seating on the patio, and we were in no hurry, so whatever. I am so pleased to see more places like this cropping up in the Valley. We will have to return, tomorrow, after hitting up the farmer's market for some coffee. Really, a great little place and I hope they thrive & flourish. It kills me what passes for "good pastries" and coffee around here. ***** I almost forgot to mention the main reason that I am so psyched about this place - aside from how good their food is, from all I've ward about Baked, they use organic, local items. I saw a blurb about their sandwiches using items grown in a garden on premises? And that they use local & organic whenever possible. I love stopping at Baked for one of their freshly homemade treats. Everything is so good that it's hard to pick a favorite. The owner and other folks who work there are warm and friendly. The cafe has a homey atmosphere without being too cluttered. The menu is limited, but the real star here are the baked goods. Big surprise! There are vegan options too.
