Housed in a Craftsman California Bungalow at the corner of East Broad and North Fifth Streets in Souderton, Bakers on Broad is a real French Patisserie baking and selling excellent breads and pastries. The storefront is attractively appointed in mellow green pastel with displays around the room, coffee service and an intimate cafe area for enjoying their homemade goods and private conversation. The owners are a married team with husband Raphael learning his craft in France where he grew up, and American wife Linda running the retail operation. I arrived just before closing on Saturday afternoon, and had to pick from what remained after a busy morning. I was the sole customer and had the opportunity to chat with the proprietress as I walked about the shop seeing what I wanted. She answered all my questions and assisted in my selection of croissants, rolls, fruit/cheese pastries and half baguette. She won me completely over when she offered to brew fresh coffee for me to enjoy it all on the drive home. She also gave me a complementary slice of a dense layered cake that was wonderful (but whose name I forget). The Java was straight up hot and bracing and perfect after wash for the delicate and deliciously sweet flaky croissant and the lightly buttered crusty roll I manged on the country drive back south. Later in the evening we heated the fruit danish for dessert and cut them into fours so each of us had a taste. Also fabulous. I admit my surprise at finding such good patisserie on the outskirts of civilization up Bucks County, but now that I know I won't be a stranger.

Cute little corner bakery with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere accompanied by a very friendly staff. A lot of delicious looking breads and pastries. We tried the chocolate croissants which were very well flavored with a slightly less flakiness than you might find in Paris. We brought one home and warmed it in the oven which really made the flavors pop. Would have loved to have sampled some of the breads as they all looked so good. Would recommend giving them a try for any of the baked goods they offer.

Blackberry Danish, almond croissant, elephant ear, cinnamon bun, and whole wheat sourdough bread.

This is an ideal setup. I've spoken to the pitmaster while I was eating outside. Super nice guy. They've always been a humble place who never thought of themselves as "above the people" which is why when we had that flood in 2021, the community rallied around them so fiercely. Back to food. Several sauces for the pork, available to get as much or little as you need. The Mac and cheese is good, like, "bring me back a plate at the cookout" good. And lastly the greens are superb. Some people shouldn't make greens. These are not those people. The acid, the smoke, the consistency. I've never gotten them and they were different from last time. Look at my reviews. I probably am overly critical with some places and am not overly generous with others. They deserve all 5 stars

Slightly outside the Lehigh Valley, but after stopping in, I can confidently say it's absolutely worth the drive. I had to start with the wings, smoked to perfection and then fried for a crisp finish. Each bite hit with smoky flavor, crunch, and a sweet-savory kick from the Asian sauce. Simply incredible! After the wings, I moved on to the BBQ sampler, which includes three fall-off-the-bone ribs, two slices of tender brisket, a tasty, well-seasoned drumstick, and juicy pulled pork. For sides, I went with mac & cheese and BBQ baked beans. They weren't nearly as impressive as the meats, but were still enjoyable. My friend ordered the chopped brisket sandwich with mac & cheese and natural cut fries. She likes it so much she orders the same thing every time she goes. The counter service is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and I still haven't tried the brisket burnt ends, so I'll definitely be back.

Because her cart was blocking the aisle, I was only checking the calorie information on the English muffins. I felt that the employee's response was uncalled for. Additionally, there is usually only one cashier working at a time, which can lead to long waits. we asked the cashier, Jayce, what her name was and he refused to tell us. He told us we could take our review /complaint and business and go shopping somewhere else because everyone loves her (the employee that yelled at me in the isle) . Then he walked away. he was incredibly rude and dismissive. While the store's prices are competitive, the consistently rude behavior of the staff significantly detracts from the overall shopping experience.

In essence, you have to know a whole day in advance that you want 8-10 small nugget-size pretzels. This is something I've never seen or heard of at another Philly Pretzel location. I inquired for the smallest size mini hot dog, was told that I had to buy it online ahead of time, and was then told the same thing regarding the mini cheesesteak and a single hot dog. I then enquired, "Well, is there anything on this menu I can get right now?" And I was told just a large pretzel. I don't know how this store survives if it's operated like way. It'd be comparable to going to McDonald's and being informed that you must order a cheeseburger a day in advance.

The prices are also fantastic too, $5 for 10 pretzels is awesome!! The parking out front is limited, but there is more on the side need be. There is plenty of room to back out too, but getting onto West Main Street (Route 113) can be a pain as it can get really crowded. That aside, it is a great place for soft pretzels and it is 100% worth stopping in.
