It's as if I was a kid again eating an imaginary meal at a play set. But the meal is far from imaginary... With a limited menu that changes regularly, they prepare rich meals of both quality and quantity. I had a sausage and potato stuffed omelet with carmelized onions that was a very delicious monster. Quite often, home fries are either greasy, or over-cooked, or even over-seasoned, but these were perfect. It seemed as if they had just pulled the potatoes from the ground that morning. My girlfriend had the best, "meatiest" tomato soup I have ever tasted, and her gourmet grilled cheese blew my mind. (If I didn't love her so much, I would have stolen it from her!) For dessert, we had white-chocolate raspberry cookies that were yummy beyond reproach. (The cakes in the dessert display may bring people to tears.) This is a very down-home country spot, with quilting and needlepoint covering every inch of every wall. The chalkboard menu is so sweet and inviting, and suggests that the day's offerings are lovingly imagined. Unfortunately, the food is pretty rough. It *sounds* great-- gourmet grilled cheese sandwich with pumpkin wild rice soup? Yes please! But the absence of any seasoning, even salt, really brings the geriatric decor into focus and one can't help but feel trapped in a retirement home. The portion sizes are bizarre; the grilled cheese was tiny, just two baguette slices put together, and the mushroom soup was enormous. The 'gourmet' cheese in the sandwich appeared to be some sort of pimento or cheese wiz... It just unfortunately wasn't good. My partner got the savory sweet potato pancakes, which were also very strange and bland and beige. They aren't potato pancakes in the Eastern European sense (shreddeed potato), they were more like bisquik with a whisper of sweet potato flour sifted in. Clearly this spot is beloved by regulars, and the prices are also super reasonable. Love a quaint family-owned location, just wish the food was better! :( read more

Peanut butter cookies were always my go-to when I came here and they were exactly the way I remember them from our high school cafeteria. I also tried chocolate raspberry tea cookies. What a cute little place! We only went in there to grab a sweet to go, but they were so friendly and their cookies are amazing! I got their peanut butter dipped in chocolate cookie and it was just the perfect amount of sweet and soft and crumbly (literally my favorite)! The lunchtime menu is written on a chalkboard and can vary but some items are perennial. Soups are made from scratch as far as I can tell and complement the sandwiches perfectly. I basically live here. I've never ordered anything that wasn't delicious. It's such a great place to take your friends for a quick catchup session. Lunch is always served within minutes! My favorite choices are the mixed berry lemonade (with fresh blueberries, strawberries AND raspberries!), the pumpkin mushroom soup (amazing!!), and any of their tuna/chicken salads on the puffed pastry. Brunch on Sundays is amazing too, but prepare for sugar overload. I personally enjoy a little of the savory (like the salads) and then saving room for the sweets in the bakery case. The chocolate toffee crunch cake is to die for. So is the coconut custard pie. So is ... Everything! Make reservations early - like weeks early - if you want a good time/seat. Any reservation after noon may amount to 69'd menu items. It's all freshly made so once they're out of a menu item, you're out of luck. The 11:00 reservation slot is always a safe bet for ordering off the full menu. The shop upstairs offers neat gift items. And if you're in a rush or if they're booked solid, you can order your food or sweets to go. Love this place!! Wow, wow, wow!! I never knew this place existed! I have lived in this part of the Lehigh Valley for 5 years and never noticed this place. The reason I found it, was because we were headed over to the Main Street area to visit a local bike store and I wanted to see if there were any ice cream or sweet treat places around. That's how I found this place. We only went in to buy 2 pieces of Chocolate cake to go, but I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the establishment. It is so cute and quaint!!! They serve food here as well. I just loved the atmosphere. I will definitely be back to eat one day. The chocolate cake was AMAZING. We have utilized their call ahead ordering and curbside pickup for brunch several times over the last few months. Their staff takes great care when packaging up items for transport and always wears face coverings when interacting with guests. This place should be called Bad Memories. We took my grandma here for her birthday. Upon walking in there was a terrible musty smell. I ordered tuna pita and salad. The tuna was inedible. Too much Mayo, tasted more like chicken than tuna and it was overall gross. The salad was fine for what it was. I told our waitress that the tuna was not good and I couldn't eat it. No apology or offer to change it for something else. Customer service leaves little to be desired. My aunt couldn't eat her soup (pumpkin mushroom soup). I ordered the quiche as I was starving and it was obvious they heated it up in the microwave. It was better than the tuna but still not good. I'm sure nuking the heck out of it didn't help. Just shows they don't care about their presentation of their food. When we got our bill they charged us for the tuna pita. Was going to ask her to take it off but we really just wanted to get out of there. The waitress was pretty rude throughout the meal. They obviously don't value customers. Sweet Memories made a small cake and cupcakes for our wedding four years ago, and my friends still remind me how fab they were! The actual restaurant is super cute, and I love that it is a true family business. We were in town and went back for brunch which was reasonably priced and with pretty decent sized portions. This place is absolutely adorable. It's a small house with a small sign that you will miss if you're not looking for it. Very nostalgic full of great decor and just overall adorable. I tried the chocolate chip chunky cookie which was hands down one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had in my life. It was huge moist full of chocolate chunks I mean to die for. I also purchased a cheesecake freaking chocolate cupcake, a chocolate peanut butter cup Cupcake, and a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake brownie. The brownie is good the cupcakes were ok, the cake was a lite sry and bland to me but I'm a bit of a cupcake snob. I have not tried the cakes but they are definitely winning. It's unusual for us to miss a Sunday in downtown Emmaus, but this was the first time we'd made it to Sweet Memories for brunch. After my poor husband had to tag along for my shopping yesterday and the pet parade at the farmer's market earlier this day, I got the "come ON" look when we walked in. Yes, it feels like grandma's house or an old fashioned B&B. Not exactly my preferred style of decorating either, but hey, I follow the food! We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get a table right away (they have 4 or 5 first come, first served tables near the desserts, and a room full of reserved tables). The waitress came with the brunch blackboard menu and took our drinks orders (we just did water today). I was surprised that the $7.99 price that Mundania had mentioned in her review was still around...hurrah! When our server came back with water a few minutes later, we were ready to order. I had the grilled croissant with eggs, bacon, cheese & roasted tomatoes...the hubs went for the blueberry pancakes with lemon cream and peaches. Took a little over 10 minutes before our food popped out...giving us plenty of time to eyeball the other guests' food and the dessert case (almost everything in the dessert case was sub $2...awesome...) Our food was delicious. My husband cleaned his plate, but I only got through about half of mine. Neither of us had room for dessert, but I can promise you that we'll be back to try it! My croissant was a good balance between grilled crispiness & soft croissant-ness...and while I was skeptical of mixing tomatoes with my eggs, it was actually quite awesome. It'll make a great lunch tomorrow at work. So two brunch entrees, two waters, sub $15.98 before tax and tip. We'll definitely be back!
