Nicoletta at Pretty Tasty Bakery initially confirmed availability for my event and discussed dessert ideas, but after a short delay in my response (due to travel) she suddenly told me she was no longer available on that date and had taken on another client, without ever following up or notifying me. In fact, had I not emailed, she would have never had the initiative to notify me. Any professional business would reach out to the client if another order came in for the same date, but instead she booked others without warning. From the start, it felt like she didn't want to take on the order, and the lack of communication caused unnecessary stress. Oh, and there's no shortage of free parking at this restaurant. First off, the picture on the menu showed a little bowl for the onion stew, whereas what I got was onion stew spread over the chicken. The stew itself was tasty, but for both the stew and grilled chicken, a bit more tenderness and less chewiness would certainly have elevated both dishes. The red beans and plantains were fine, but the yellow rice lacked any discernible flavour which was disappointing. I believe this place has what it takes to be even better and that both dishes should have been better. I hope they continue to improve and serve the locals (and non-locals) for many more years.

It's as if I was a kid again eating an imaginary meal at a play set. But the meal is far from imaginary... Quite often, home fries are either greasy, or over-cooked, or even over-seasoned, but these were perfect. It seemed as if they had just pulled the potatoes from the ground that morning. My girlfriend had the best, "meatiest" tomato soup I have ever tasted, and her gourmet grilled cheese blew my mind. (If I didn't love her so much, I would have stolen it from her!) The call was not professional at all, she explained they were extremely busy with weddings They also explained that the inspiration pictures I sent were too detailed and weren't able to do them (not a problem) so I sent a not so detailed one asking if this was something they would be able to do, and then was left on read again. So I followed up asking if again this was something you'd be able to do (on a Monday) after knowing that they are closed on Mondays, I got a response right away, basically saying that I needed an answer right away. It's not that I needed an answer right away, being in a business you don't leave customers on read for weeks or days, being closed 5 days out of the week. Cindy's customer service and communication was horrible. There's people I know that have ordered 2-3 WEEKS before a party and they don't have an issue fitting them in. I have screenshots, and unfortunately I can't put the voicemail I got from Cindy Since I cannot reply back to Cindy's comment.... Due to the lack of communication, I feel like my point is being completely misunderstood. Never once did I state or imply that I'm more important than anyone else. What I'm getting at is that I see you responding to other people I know who order from you in a timely manner, who order 2 weeks before their party than mine that's 3 MONTHS AWAY so I was simply trying to get an answer. I never threatened you or demanded anything. I said I needed to know whether you would be able to do the cake or not so that, if you couldn't, I could find someone else to do it. As for messaging you on your personal phone, that has never been an issue in the past three years that I've been ordering cakes from you, so I don't understand why it's suddenly being made into one now. I was simply looking for communication and a clear answer, not trying to cause an issue or make myself seem more important than anyone else
