I got a Peanut butter Tandy cake as a surprise birthday gift for my brother in law this past weekend. It was a huge hit. "Best cake ever!!" None of us are vegan and we all loved it and were amazed by the richness. We were also surprised that the medium sized cake really could serve 8 generous slices. The cakes are very tall and even the standard design was lovely. I'll definitely get all special cakes from Vegan Treats in future. read more

After dinner last nite, we looked on Yelp for a gluten free dessert place and this place popped up which closes at 9pm. While we tried calling them but no one picked up, we did manage to stop by their place last nite. My wife picked up a GF carrot cake (for $17) and she said it was very delicious and moist. Also, she bought a cowboy cookie for the road today. While it may be a tad pricey, honestly for a GF joint, it is worth coming in and try. They have other ample selections and the staffs are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely would recommend. read more

Vegan Treats - GF Carrot Cake - Bakeries Near Me - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

I recently visited this vegan bakery and tried two of their tarts. First, I want to talk about the taste. They were fine - good, but nothing crazy or out of this world. I've definitely had better vegan treats before, especially for the price point. One thing that really stood out to me was that there were no prices listed near the tarts or baked goods. Normally that might not be a huge issue, but in this case, I think it's important. When the cashier told us our total was $34, I honestly thought he was joking or had accidentally charged us for a small cake or something. We didn't question it at the time and just paid. Once we got to the car, we started second-guessing whether there had been a mistake. I even went online and checked their ordering page to confirm the prices. To my surprise, there was no error - the tarts are actually $17 each. I can usually justify higher prices if the food is truly exceptional, made with rare or unique ingredients, or if part of the proceeds go toward a meaningful cause. In this case, though, I didn't feel the quality matched the cost. There are several vegan bakeries in NJ that offer better-tasting treats at more reasonable prices. At that price point, I truly hope the workers behind the counter are earning well above minimum wage and that their hourly pay reflects what this place charges for a single tart. If customers are paying premium prices, it would be reassuring to know that the staff is benefiting from that as well. Overall, I think listing prices clearly in-store would help customers avoid sticker shock at checkout. Transparency goes a long way. read more

Yikes. The baked goods are fine (by no means the best I've ever had), but oh my god one mini individual sized cake is $18, and prices aren't listed ANYWHERE in the store. I didn't know this until my order was boxed and bagged, but my god, please put prices on things. I don't care how delicious they are, cost, etc, customers deserve to know the price before paying. The only way to see the price is to go to the curbside pick up ordering section on their website. I felt way too embarrassed to say forget it at this point in my transaction, but this is a really shady way to do business and for this reason, I won't be back. Not cool. And I see I'm not the only one who thinks this. read more

I wouldn't recommend! The items are very overpriced, owners are rude. Spend your money elsewhere.

This is one of my favorite places to make a detour to. It is a quiet spot on a little block and if you drive too fast you will miss it. Service is very friendly and as sweet as their desserts. It is so hard to pick just one so I take a few for the road. Excellent vegan desserts! read more

PLEASE NOTE: This was for nationwide shipping. Six stars for the outstanding customer service here. They were kind, they were patient, they were empathetic, they were super responsive, they were flexible... all of this through email! For me personally, though, the chocolate is a miss. I tried an assortment through their Halloween box, which - again, major props to them - was perfectly packaged and had beautiful artwork! The 14 pieces of premium, handmade chocolates for $90 featured blackout espresso cream pumpkins (our favorite from the selection, they were so rich and coffee forward), milk chocolate peanut butter skulls (a flavor combo that always works), maple chai shaped leaves (... there was something strangely sour about these), white chocolate pumpkin cake pops/white chocolate pistachio praline/white chocolate strawberry crunch domes (lumping these together because we didn't like any of them [and that's nearly half the box]; the only thing that we could taste was the thick, waxy white chocolate which we weren't fans of), a hazelnut praline raven-shaped bar and almond butter toffee crunch banner bar (these two go together because they both had such gritty textures), and a caramel raven which I don't even remember. It's important to note that they only ship their chocolates/seasonal treats a few times of year (like major candy-forward holidays), so be sure to follow them on Instagram for details. If you haven't seen their gingerbread cat skeletons, they're adorable! For me personally, while I'll skip the chocolate moving forward, I still plan on buying their cannolis at some point when they become available again (they're the thing from here that I've had my eye on for years!). read more

Late ish night vegan desserts and soft serve ice cream !!! What a treat !! I wish I lived next door lol the soft serve is soooo delicious !

It doesn't look like much from the outside but the sweet baked goods wafted outside the door. When you walk in the oven gooey smell of baked good overtakes anything you are thinking about. My friends and I tried the doughnuts, a strawberry cheesecake cannoli, banana oat chocolate cookie, and a very yummy banana cheese cake. The whipped topping on the cheesecake was so fluffy and like nothing I've tasted before. The cookie was so moist and rich. My friends also really liked their treats. A great shop to stop in if you're in the area. read more

My philosophy in life: I just don't want to look back and think, I could've eaten that!! @vegantreats #vegantreats Vegan Treats is located in Bethlehem, PA. It was founded by Danielle Konya. As a vegan baker, she wanted to make treats that tasted better that non-vegan cakes and sweets. And as a foodie visitor for the second time to her bakery, she has certainly succeeded at creating phenomenally delicious treats for ALL. I will say, I'm partial to her chocolate creations. A vegan is a person who doesn't eat any animal products, including animal milks. As a person with IBS (stomach issues) & who's lactose intolerant, vegan treats are gentler on my stomach. Eating vegan and vegetarian is more environmentally friendly. There's less pollution making vegan food, and even eating vegan or vegetarian once or twice a week, would benefit our planet I've a purely meat eater friend who was very apprehensive about trying vegan food, even he enjoyed these treats, if that tells you something. Hope our latest adventure has taught you something and/or entertained you. Please always remember to travel often, eat and live deliciously. read more

Still the absolute best Boston cream donuts around! I drive here about once every other year from Philadelphia. It's about an hour drive but so worth it I load my freezer up with a ton of items. I also love that they have soft serve ice cream always available. Staff is usually friendly. And the ambience is really cute as well. I love the octopus light fixture on the ceiling and the airbrushed cakes painted on the wall in the background. read more

We are so lucky to have such a famous and popular vegan bakery here in Bethlehem. And for a vegan bakery, the desserts are surprisingly decadent; it's easy to forget they're vegan! But they are all very, very sweet. Almost all of the offerings are heavy on the frosting-- lots of cakes, whoopie pies, and "bombs." Everything tastes like sugar and oil, leaving a greasy (or plasticky, like some folks have said) feeling in the mouth. When we first came here I thought we'd be here all the time but the richness and oiliness is a big turnoff. It would be great if there were a wider range of 'treats,' maybe some relying more on fruit, or more savory flavors... The cookies are by far the best of the selection, but even those can be hit or miss. I know this is a beloved institution in Bethlehem, and it is certainly the best vegan bakery, but I have unfortunately found it to be overhyped. read more

I've been following Vegan Treats on Instagram for quite some time now. These dreamy, luscious vegan delicacies were worth the wait (and the hour drive). Ordering was easy. The glass case at the entrance had everything named and displayed for customer convenience. The employees were attentive and ready to assist. I ordered Peanut Butter Cup cheesecake (forgot to take a picture so you won't see it in my review), Hazelnut Praline cheesecake on a stick and Lemon cheesecake. It still blows my mind that everything they make is vegan. Out of the three, the lemon was the top flavor in my opinion. Coming in second place is the Peanut Butter Cup. Both of these were very rich in flavor and texture. My least favorite was the hazelnut praline on a stick because I could taste the stick with each bite. Perhaps it was because it sat in my fridge for a little over 24 hours. In the future, I'd love to try their cookies, brownies and chocolate bars. They also had a drink cooler and merchandise available for purchase. Everything was really cute! I'm going to rave about my experience with Vegan Treats to family and friends and I'm most definitely coming back during my next visit to Bethlehem. read more

Been eating their stuff in NYC for 15 years. It's always delicious. Best vegan cakes I have ever had. Finally got to the brick and mortar. The girl behind the counter was incredibly rude and killed my buzz and I paid $13 for a stale "mini cake" AKA a cupcake with a lot of icing. I'll stick to Manhattan. read more

So happy we found this place for our son. A bit pricey but worth every penny. If you are Vegan or have a dairy allergy like my toddler, it can be extremely difficult finding a bakery like this one. The donuts and treats they sell are so freaking good. I had my Fiancé try one and he is very opposed to dairy free treats. He LOVED it. He had 2 of the six we bought. Def worth a 5 star review! Seriously THE best! It's been 3 or 4 years since I tried pastries from Vegan Treats at a festival in Lancaster. We waited in line for probably an hour. I should have known then. Everything looked so good, I could barely decide. I ended up getting donuts, cake, Danish, and cookies. I got their card and thought when the hell am I ever gonna be in Bethlehem, PA??? I wasn't sure I'd ever have these delicacies again. Fast forward to two weeks ago. As soon as I realized we would be even remotely near Bethlehem I told my friends we MUST go. If this was 2003, I would have printed out the map mapquest directions! The quality of the pastries just as good, if not better, than I remember. Years ago I bought the cowboy cookie and cheese danish. I was happy to see they were still on the menu and available when we arrived around 530 on a Friday night. I also ordered two strawberry pies because I couldn't decide and didn't wanna choose. The strawberry key lime cheesecake had what looked like strawberry printed paper (edible of course) and the crust was buttery. It was my absolute favorite! But the strawberry cream pie was SO creamy and I'm still wondering how that works without dairy. Mind blown! The crust was also this corn but crumbly like graham cracker (clearly I'm terrible at describing) thing that was delicious! The only thing I wouldn't order again is the red velvet bun. It was too dense and too cocoa-y for my liking. I will patronize this business every chance I get! read more

Loveee loveeee loveeeeeeee this place! I first discovered their donuts in a restaurant in NY. I tried the boston cream donut and was blown away! I had to know where the donut came from. On a trip to PA one day we stopped in and got a little bit of everything. This has now become my favorite vegan spot even much so that I will drive the 2 hours just to go there. This visit I picked up a cake for my birthday. I was sad that they only offer the donuts on the weekend. If you have not tried this place yet you much stop in even if you are not vegan. I wanted to add that Vegan Treats has excellent mail-order options available leading up to Valentine's Day and Halloween. It's hard to find a display case more beautiful than the one at Vegan Treat. It is filled with decorated 4" cakes and cheesecakes, cookies, doughnuts, and other pastries. There various staples as well as rotating special treats like creme brulee doughnuts, tres leches cake, sift serve ice cream, and more. They also have gluten free items. Ice cream is oatmilk based and flavors change every week. I was a little bummed that the flavors on the schedule (strawberry cheesecake and brownie batter) were not available when I went. Right now, one customer (or a group of up to 3 who traveled together) are allowed in the show at a time. There was a line outside and it moves quite slowly. You can order on-line, text when you arrive, and they will put it on the table outside for pickup. Not clear if everything in the shop is available to order on-line. read more

Unfortunately, even if the cakes are okay and nothing to brag about, their customer service is really really bad. And please don't ask them to deliver to you for an event. No matter what the distance may be, they will give you the highest most unreasonable fee you have ever seen from any bakery. Truly just disappointed in how much they don't care at all about their customers. This behavior will not work for them in the coming economic climate. read more

Wow! Just wow! The selection is amazing. I wish I could've gotten one of each! (Or two) I had been dreaming of coming here for ages bc their little cakes were soooo gorgeous. I got 3 cakes, cookie dough, specculos and death by chocolate. They had the Halloween themed ones, which was so cool! Also got the soft serve, orange and vanilla. So fantastic. Each cake was so delicious. Whoever makes them is so talented, my goodness! Would travel again, out of my way to come back. Drove from Philly all the way to Bethlehem just for Vegan Treats when I went on vacation! I lose my mind when I enter VT. Everything looks delicious and the treats taste better than they look. The LV area is void of fully vegan places especially in recent times (Paranormal Pizza closed due to a fire, VegOut owner going thru health issues) and this bakery provides relief with fully vegan options. I'm happy this place exists but my waist line always fears the outcome when I binge. It's a very small bakery with 2-3 tables so I prefer taking out my treats. I've seen people eat ice cream during summers so I definitely need to check that out. Some of our family favorites include raspberry cheesecake, death by chocolate cake, red velvet cake, strawberry cannoli and carrot cake. read more

I've been to this store three times in the last year. There's a Lotta good stuff here, but some misses also. #1-most of the time the soft serve flavors are disappointing. Seems like they making flavors for kids: they often have candy flavors. Particularly on the weekends this seems to be the case. I was really disappointed on my latest visit when I was served a very cold cookie, which clearly had been frozen. They admit it is such when I asked, and said that they freeze them so they are fresh... I must be missing some thing, because I figure if they want to serve fresh cookies, they should serve fresh cookies, not frozen ones. To be clear I'm not standing on principle here, my cookie was dry. On the other side of the ledger, the Whoopie pies are very nice. Their version of a butter finger was too. As are the cookies, when they have been fresh read more

From what I've heard, the demand is high for Vegan Treats' products! And, frankly, it's well worth the wait. First, I think they are reasonably priced. Sometimes vegan baked goods are a little more expensive and their prices aren't higher than others throughout similar cities. Plus, it's quality! And yes, it's quality. Which means you don't need quantity. You may look and want to try everything - I certainly did. But each baked good should be savored for itself. When I'm back in the area, I plan on returning. read more

For the second time in the last 4 months I spent over $50 and was so disappointed. I thought the first time was a fluke. Vegan Treats is THE BEST vegan dessert place around. Even if you're not vegan, you will enjoy their desserts, I promise. Also, their vibe is the epitome of cool, and their Halloween treats are to die for. Must buys: boston cream donut, coconut cream donut, death by chocolate cake, peanut butter bomb, literally any and every soft serve option. I have been religiously making trips out to Bethlehem every 6 months or so for the past 5 years JUST so I can come stock up on vegan treats. Yes, I know you can buy some of their treats in NYC but it's just not the same. The bakery is truly magical and I could spend all day just admiring their pastry case. Highlights - cinnamon buns; Boston creme doughnuts; Whoopie pies, peanut butter bomb & PB Tandy and literally any of the cheesecakes. I went about two weeks ago and had the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever eaten. I also ordered a cookie dough cake and confetti cake. I did not like the cookie dough cake but the confetti was good. It was filled with raspberry and had fondant on top. I went again today and they were out of all except 3 flavors of cookies. It was disappointing to not have any chocolate chip. I purchased the confetti cake again. This time the cake was rubbery and did not have raspberry filling. I'm not sure why.
