The short rib sandwich was delicious, the meat was tender and flavorful, but the slaw was the best part, it gave a great tang and crunch to the sandwich. We went to the Barn with high hopes and were greatly disappointed. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Terrible chicken it was gross and wet. Obviously precooked, cold, and disgusting. The chicken was wet. Not what you would expect from a restaurant that prides itself in farm to table. It took 45 minutes to get two salads. We left hungry, disappointed, and out a lot of money for a meal that definitely wasn't worth it. Will not go back. read more

Food has always been good here. My absolute favorite is the homemade kettle chips. They were an excellent side to their great sandwiches or even better as an appetizer with their homemade horseradish dip. But we went last night and guess what... STORE BOUGHT CHIPS!!!! The waitress said that they were changing the menu. EPIC FAILURE! If I want store bought kettle chips I'll go to Costco. Please reconsider this cost saving measure. Not a good idea. read more

I want to be fair in this review, and tonight was my first time at The Barn and the second time for my sister and brother in law. They warned me that it was a little over priced and the food was just ok. They had been there for their "soft opening" and were told the menu would be expanded, but it's still exactly the same. Upon entering, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, but beyond that, I was overall very disappointed with the food. For appetizers we got the beef jerky (very dry, although my fellow guests said it had been really good when they visited previously). The other app was kettle chips and dip. The dip tasted exactly like the powdered French onion stuff you get at the grocery store and mix with sour cream. Nothing special. I got the grilled cheese and it had very little cheese. My brother in law got the hot dogs which are supposed to have chili, but there was none. My sister's mushroom sandwich was blah. The sides of "mixed greens" were extremely bland. Unfortunately it seems that more thought went into the decor and not enough into the menu. For the quality of the food, it's definitely not worth the price. read more

A home run. Fantastic. I love going to barn for its comfort/bistro food. But wow it's great. Super beer/wine list coupled with a great festive atmosphere and delicious savory appetizers and sandwiches. Service is very friendly and laid back and efficient. Blatantly ignored my husband when he asked for a box, turned her head the other way and talked to the table next to us. Sat for quite awhile waiting for drinks, never checked on us or asked us if we wanted anything during or after dinner. Sarcastic "have a great night" after she literally dropped the check on the table. Hostess seemed totally stressed out when we arrived and told us there was going to be a wait for "a while". Another stellar meal at House last night! This time, we had small plates. You simply have not had a better crab cake until you've tried these. We also had tender tempura shrimp skewers with a crisp fresh salsa and cilantro. The real star of the evening was the house-made gnocchi in cream sauce with sun-dried tomatoes. Pure heaven on a plate! We also had the scallops garnished with crab salad and the lamb from the Bigs menu. The scallops were seated and glazed to perfection, and the lamb was tender and perfectly seasoned. Kudos to Chef Greg and his culinary team for a tantalizing meal, perfectly prepared, and expertly served. We'll be back for more. read more

Went for drinks and small plates, cheese plate was excellent, hot toddy was the cocktail of the day, it was perfect for cold weather. Service was excellent in the bar in basement of the House. Nicely renovated, very friendly staff! Loved the rustic barn atmosphere and natural stone and wood throughout both the barn and house. We went to the Barn today to test it out as we were considering it for my bridal shower this fall. The food was incredible! We tried a couple different grilled cheeses and sandwiches of theirs and they were all very very good. We also got their kettle chips and nachos as apps- amazing. Never in my life have I been a huge fan of coleslaw but I took home the leftover coleslaw and was scraping the bottom of the take home container. We will definitely be hosting my shower here this fall, I can't wait to come back! read more

I am very disappointed with the customer service I received. The manager Caroline, was disrespectful and unprofessional. As a paying customer, I questioned an OVER charge on my bill and she stated, "This happened 6 hours ago, if you would've come to me then, I maybe could've helped you." She threw out my receipt, I had to ask her TWICE to grab it out of the trash before she did so. It is upsetting to be treated this way by a manager none the less. I enjoyed going here, but sadly I will not be returning because of this poorly handled incident. read more

Very disappointed with our experience at the Barn. The service was terrible, the ambiance could be better, and the food was mediocre at best. The chili was cold and absolutely tasteless and the bread on the pulled pork sandwiches was soggy & greasy. Our waitress rushed our entire meal and couldn't clear the dishes and silverware away quick enough. We were celebrating a birthday and she didn't even take the cake out of the box or bring a knife and plates to the table! On top of all of that, she made a huge mistake on our bill and insisted it was our misunderstanding. She was so rude we had to get the manager involved. I can say with certainty we won't be going back or recommending the Barn anytime soon. read more

After recently booking the bottom of The Barn for a special event, we encountered an unexpected hiccup when the chef, Nate, left the night before never to return leaving his former co-workers to deal with a large party alone. We were not alerted to the problem initially. However, the staff did their best to accommodate our large group while they were understaffed and overwhelmed. Our food was late and they did run out, but it was excellent and hot. Props to Greg, Cindy and Amber and their staff for dealing with a frustrating situation on both ends! Their professionalism was very appreciated and will continue to make the Barn and the House a top choice for this event planner! read more
