This place just lost me as a customer. I figured I would try to patronize a restaurant during the current pandemic, I'm sorry I did. I spent over $11 for a cheesesteak. Yet another business cutting corners on quality. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... What's even more discerning is that they have a sign when you walk in letting you know that the price of certain meats have gone up and they are passing that cost onto the customer. Oh boy do I love Primo Hoagies. Too bad there are none by me. But I was visiting the Allentown/Bethlehem area over Labor Day weekend and I stopped by here twice for a delicious, amazing, Chicken Diablo. And they did not disappoint. Friendly staff always helping with a smile on their faces. It can take 5-10 minutes for you to get your sandwich, but that is only because they make it fresh when you order including slicing the meat/cheese, heating up the cutlets, etc. And that's what makes it most delicious. Have been frequenting this establishment for last couple years ( reward member since 2020) and found them to have a quality hoagie. However I have since then decided to no longer support their business as I was very dissatisfied on how they handled my last order. The hoagies that had been ordered were assembled wrong ( Mayo instead of mustard). I called in to discuss this with the employee who answered the call and was very politely to told to leave my name and that the next time I come in I could get those hoagies replaced at no cost. Thats great customer service and was very pleased. 2 weeks later we decided to stop in and order couple sandwiches for friends visiting from out of town also to pick up 2 that we previously ordered that were made wrong. We were told that they could not re make those unless we paid for them. No record of me calling in, I ask them to look up my reward account to see my past orders. stating that would not help so we cancelled our order and decided to no longer support this establishment!!! Really, I could understand something like tomatoes being extra, but pickles? The sandwich was OK but I really don't appreciate a place that nickel and dimes you like that. I always make my own Italian sub at Primo hoagies restaurants. So I ordered on the mobile app a primo size (which I wish their was a bigger size in between primo and the whole which is way too big) with ham, hard salami, provolone cheese, lettuce tomato, onion, roasted peppers, oil and vin. It was so great to just pay and then run into a neighbor store then pop in and my sub was ready. It was perfectly wrapped, fresh and delicious! Would stop by again if ever in the area. read more

Foods not bad but the prices are insane and service is poor. For a 9" Italian it somehow costs $13. Also had to wait 20 min for my order even though I was the only person in there for the first ten minutes. I guess they prioritize online orders over in person. Wouldn't recommend. read more

This was my second visit to a Primo Hoagies. I was so excited to bring my wife here since my visit to the one in Easton was so good. But, we were in Bethlehem, PA and saw a Primo as we were driving, so in we went. We were on our way to the airport to return home so thought this would be a great meal to bring onto the plane. it may simply be that we should have stuck with Italian Hoagies. But, we thought their "Schwartzies" looked interesting. I got Roast Beef and Kerrie had Turkey. It is dressed with thousand island dressing and cole slaw rather than the typical hoagie with lettuce, tomato, oregano, oil and vinegar. They tasted fine, but I wish we had chosen something else. Aside from preferring the typical Italian hoagie to these, there was way too much cole slaw on it, overpowering the rest of the flavors. The sweet taste was just too much. Next time I'm in the ABE area, I'll stick with their more traditional hoagies. read more

Primo is perfect for a lunch run during a break from work. All of the sandwich options are good and they started doing cheesesteaks a couple months ago. Their reward program is great - they text you when they have sales and they usually have at least one every week, so you can save a lot of money if you like going out for hoagie. Their long hots are a great addition to any sandwich, but it's hard to justify paying the extra $2 for them once you realize a number of the menu items come with something they call "poppers" on them that are basically the same thing and don't have that extra charge with it, plus it makes for a much less oily and leaky sandwich when you go that way. After waiting to try this place for years. I finally decided to go in with my kids and husband. Worse decision ever. I first placed my order and they tried to force me to get the bigger sandwich and pay the higher price. Then when I asked for my receipt I was given attitude by the staff that was obviously having a bad day. I finally get my food and it was one of the worst things I have ever tried. Hands down the best hoagies in the Lehigh Valley. Primo is a Philly based regional chain. (This is their only location in the Lehigh Valley.) High quality meats and cheeses are a hallmark of this place, which specializes in Italian-style hoagies. Ingredients here are the real deal: thick cut, fresh, soft, mozzarella (none of that thin sliced "hard" stuff), provolone with bite, high quality lunch meats. As with any sandwich, it's the bread that makes it. The bread here is almost unbeatable. (Primo vs. Amoroso rolls. Discuss.) You can't go wrong with any sandwich on the menu, but I'm partial to the Abruzzi myself (cold roast pork, broccoli rabe, sharp provolone). Also excellent are the traditional Italian subs. Small makes a good lunch size; "Primo" size is plenty for a growing boy. Rolls vary slightly based on the size of sandwich ordered. Note that as with any cold-cut place, sandwiches are high in sodium. Those of you sensitive to salty foods will notice. I advise ordering ahead for your lunch pick-up, or else you are guaranteed a wait. This place is hopping at lunch time. read more

I went to Primo's this past weekend with a few friends, after hearing great things about it. It's pretty bare inside, but it is a sandwich place, so I wasn't expecting much in terms of atmosphere. I ordered the chicken diablo, a spicy sandwich with chicken cutlets, recommended by my friend. The sandwich took about 10-15 minutes to come out, even though the place was pretty empty, but I'm guessing it's because they were cooking the chicken. The chicken definitely was very good--nice and moist, and well cooked. The bread was also very good. However, the sandwich as a whole was pretty bland--it was definitely spicy, but beyond that, there wasn't much to it, so I was a little disappointed. I probably should have gotten some blue cheese dressing on it, but I figured I'd be safe with just the standard sub. The sub was also pretty pricey--just under $10 for a drink and the sandwich. At the Goosey Gander, I can get a sub for almost half that. I think I probably need to go back and try a different sandwich, but as far as first impressions go, I was pretty disappointed. read more

Absolutely delicious! This deli is fabulous, everything is fresh and full of flavor. From the hoagies to the whole pickles, I'm impressed. I ordered the Diablo turkey with everything on it (seasoning, hot peppers, sweet peppers, pickles) and it was better than I ever expected. Grabbed a side of macaroni salad and was not disappointed. For a chain of stores, they have figured it all out. Kudos and this IS 5 stars. Generous portions and a perfect roll that is soft on the inside and crusty on the outside make it one of my faves. (Btw...if you like Italian hoagies, they have 4 or 5 different kinds of just Italian).
