Hands down my favorite go to sandwich. Quality of everything from meats to bread is always top notch. After you eat there you understand why they have stood the rest of time in a very competitive industry! Food .... Well never got to taste it, prices not too too bad, maybe a little on the pricey side. But the gentleman ringing up my order was a bit rude and distasteful. Particularly for someone who's here for the first time. Poor service took off the stars. Usually I'm very generous when I review places....but after waiting 20 minutes for a take out order, only to discover they accidentally canceled my order? And then I waited around 10min for a refund. Primo has to have some of the best sandwiches in the Lehigh Valley. The Stuff them full of meat and it is a challenge to finish it all. I used to go to Primo when they were at Schoenersville and Route 22 but it was such a challenege to get in and out of there. I checked out Primos based on the recommendations on Yelp and honestly don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm not a fan of the hard sesame seed rolls and prefer a softer, chewier, local roll. You pay 9 bucks for what you'd get for 5 or 6 elsewhere. There are plenty of great local hoagie shops in town that I'd rather support then this chain. read more

Ever since I discovered this place 4 years ago, I've been hooked. The quality of everything from the bread to the meat to the prepared salads is impeccable. Every time I visit my parents in the Lehigh Valley, I absolutely must visit this place. The bread is AMAZING, Nice and crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. I get the Italian Diablo every time I go. They stuff the sandwich with spicy capiccola, salami, and pepperoni and all the fixins you could ask for. So delicious! A little on the pricier side for a hoagie, but totally worth the price (and the lines you'll likely have to endure). Also, try the Marinated Mozzarella balls. Fantastic and so fresh! read more

My hubby & I have been doomed ever since Primos moved from Schoenersville Rd to Catasauqua Rd, resulting in Primos being closer to home & right on my route to & from work. Ugh. I cannot resist Primos. It's THE BREAD. Their rolls w/ sesame seeds are PERFECT. Soft & chewy on the inside & crunchy flavorful on the outside. Just delicious. Throw on some real Thurmann's Italian meat, a little oil & spices & you have the BEST Italian sub anywhere in the Lehigh Valley. & they have a great selection of Italian subs & meats. I'm talking about prosciutto, genoa, sopressata, provolone (the sharp is FABULOUS), salami, mozzarella, the works. They also have mouth-watering roast beef, corned beef, turkey, ham, pork, American & Swiss cheese plus they're tuna subs are FANTASTIC. Their tuna, just like all of their subs, are custom made fresh to order. You can even turn your order into a healthy selection w/ their oil-free tuna, low-salt ham, & low-fat cheeses, plus they offer low-carb wraps instead of the roll if preferred. They even have chicken cutlet selections, which are DELICIOUS (try the Bruschetta!). They offer a good selection of chips as well as fresh-made coleslaw, potato salad, mac salad, Italian pasta salad, mozzarella salad, olive salad, pepper shooters (I can't get enough of these!), cheese & salami, even brownies or pudding for dessert. The hoagies are good. We go there every other week or so. It's not amazing, but it's good. My only complaint is that the medium-size sandwich uses *much* better bread than the small size, but I never really want a whole medium-size sandwich. I've been visiting Primo since they moved from their smaller Shoenersville Road location. Great tasting subs. Quality ingredients. I'm especially fond of the Italian ones. My only complaint is that their "primo" size rolls keep getting smaller & narrower. Same length but just over half as wide as they used to be. read more

I have visited this location several times. Service can be slow but our last visit was ridiculous. After over 1/2 hour waiting, I finally said something. The lady behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me. Just started making our hoagies. Had I not said anything, who knows how much longer it would have taken. Then once complete they packed the hoagies up to go. We order them to eat in. They could tell I was very frustrated with the service and offered a free cookie. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because their sandwiches are so damn good. Terrible service and understaffed. I went towards the end of the lunch rush and there were only 4 people trying to make about 30 sandwiches which took me 24 minutes to get an Italian hoagie. Ridiculous. After 7 years of starting the store and turning it into the #1 store in the Primo franchise, they felt they deserved a break... I've been going here ever since I discovered them at their old location in 2005. They use great bread, quality meats, and an awesome concoction of spices. Definitely try their sharp provolone on your sandwich, it's awesome. The service is always great, the owners are very friendly. It can be a little slow at times, but they make everything fresh, it's worth the wait. My only tip is that if you're getting anything with chicken you should call ahead. They cook the chicken when you order and it does take a while. read more

So I hear all the excitement about Primo Hoagies and how people who are visiting the area all want to make a stop here. We decided to give it a try. I went with the takeout option. The actual restaurant was sort of.... cavernous. I knew it was a little higher priced than other local places but it's alright if the hoagie is awesome, right? They have several sizes of hoagies. I felt the price on the small was ridiculous given how small it was. The Primo size was a little better but it seems that the whole hoagie is the better value. I went with the whole hoagie option but was surprised that the sandwich was really..... narrow. Even more narrow than Subway. I am suspicious at this point. Their Italian hoagie itself was just..... average. Yes it is stuffed full of meat but a lot of it was just filler meat and had very little "bite" to it. The bread was also crusty, almost bordering on too hard. I have a preference for the local chewier Portuguese-style rolls. At this point I'm just thinking "I'm literally a two minute walk from Goosey Gander, Primo Hoagies is just a boring chain imitator." I guess if you like the mediocre hard rolls and paying $10 for lunch it's "okay." read more

A good sandwich, a little pricey. The rolls are hard on the outside, a little dry, and chewy - but they don't get soggy. When I first went I thought maybe the bread was stale, but it's just meant to hold up against sauce. It's always busy, and you can wait up to 15 minutes during the lunch rush. One of the best subs I've had in the area! The staff was very courteous when I came in and told them it was my first time. When I said that I'd never had sharp provolone, I was given a sample on some bread and I thought that was great customer service. All of the meat was thinly sliced and every ingredient was fresh. Went there today for a Primo sized Buffalo Cutlet, there is a picture of it on the wall it looked amazing! When I got the sandwich there were actually spots in the sandwich that only had sauce, a far cry from the two layers of chicken on the picture, I felt like I paid $9 for a piece of bread with buffalo sauce and blue cheese. Went there today and was greatly disappointed. I ordered a turkey hoagie. What I got was definitely not turkey. It was a mystery meat because I still can't figure it out. My husband got an Italian and it had more onions then anything. Had to look hard for the meat. This was the second in two months that I went there and was disappointed. Everyone is superbly nice and the food is good, they also have a large drink selection. As well as many snacks, and chip bags.

We visited this location this past Friday at 7:30 pm and they close at 8 pm. All the chairs were turned upside down on the tables since they were mopping the floor, so we weren't sure they were even open. We wanted to eat in, so luckily there were a few booths. The subs were good, but very small for what you pay. No chips or pickle, just the sandwich. So, we're sitting there eating and the cashier proceeds to vacuum, while we were still eating, it was 7:45. It was so rude! She really should have waited until we left! read more

I've been there 3 times in the past year and each time the service gets worse and worse. They seem to have 4-5 people always there but usually 1 is doing all of the work. I've tried to reserve judgment but after this past time it's time to leave a review. This time I ordered my food and proceeded to take a seat and wait. After roughly 20 minutes and nobody in front of me I started to obviously get antsy. So I stood up and faced the counter. After another 2 minutes the girl whose only obvious job there is to take your order and give you your order looked up from playing on her phone to see me still waiting. At this point she decided to go and look for my order, which was sitting on the "done" area for God knows how long. So a long story not so short is if I'm craving Primo again I'll take my chances driving to the Allentown area one and hope for the best. FYI, food deserves 4 stars, the bad taste in my mouth brings it down to 2 stars overall for me.. Oh yeah also no "sorry for your wait" from the idiot girl working their either, I guess I should be sorry for interrupting her social networking. read more

My wife and I used to go to Primo all the time. The food was good and the people there seemed to be nice. Then my wife got pregnant and was told to stay away from cold cuts unless they were heated like toasting the sub like subway does. We decided to go to Primo and just ask them to heat the meat for her. She went alone since I was still at work and they denied her request. She then felt she was pressured into ordering something she didn't want. When your pregnant your hormones are all over the place and instead of walking out like she normally would have, the order taker put too much pressure on her. I contacted both the Bethlehem store and the corporate store and was told they would not make any accomidations for pregnant women because "It is not part of our concept." (taken directly from an email from Mike Aruanno VP of Primo). So basically, accomidating a pregnant woman who was a regular customer is not part of their concept. Well eating at a place that treats their customers like that is not part of my budget. We will never go back to this one or any other Primo ever. There are so many sandwich shops in this country that we are not held hostage by a company like this. read more

Although the hoagies are INCREDIBLE, the customer service requires an overall 1 star rating. Having to leave at noon for a football game, I decided to make my order the previous night for pick up at 11 a.m. following morning. The store opens at 10:30 a.m. arrived at 11 a.m. to be told that there was no bread ready. I inquired as to whether my order would be ready by noon. I was told absolutely! My wife arrived at 12:10 p.m. to be told that the order was not even started. She had already stood in line for 10 minutes. What can anyone say to that? Sadly comma excellent food takes a backseat to this awful customer experience. This is not the first time this has ever happened at the same location. It is common experience to see people waiting in line for long periods of time and many people waiting for food. read more

This is the 5th time we have ordered from here and it has been the same all 5 times. Slow service and messed up orders every time!!!!! It is to the point where you have to open your order in front of them to make sure they have it right. Their hoagies are good so we forget about the poor service and incompetence and we return.
