This review is from a stop I made here in January of 2022 while it was owned by someone else. I am very due to come back and try things under the new owner but just so you know, this is not a review of the current state of things necessarily. I somehow just never posted this and going through older photos I just saw it. Checked out the Pizza Joint on Airport Road because I have heard their cheesesteak is a genuine contender for best in the Lehigh Valley. Also grabbed a Chicken Bacon Ranch slice to share with Samantha while we waited to split the steak. The owner Joey was a very friendly guy and we talked for quite a while just about pizza, the business, etc. The shop has a few tables for indoor dining and was very clean. The Chicken Bacon Ranch Grandma style slice was very good. We just got a counter slice on a re-heat but it had been made fresh right beforehand and the flavors were on point. Nice little crispiness after the re-heat too which is just how I like it. I would definitely try that again. So this cheesesteak...this is a winner. Ribeye, Cooper Sharp, fried onion, seeded roll delivered daily. What more can you ask for? Especially in an area where many people eat their steaks with red sauce and pickles on them...this was an actual cheesesteak in the style of Philly. I'd eat this any day of the week. Small, casual Italian eatery in a shopping center on east side of Allentown. Chicken Fajita Pizza was pretty good; we also ordered cheese pizza. We tried a few of their entrees, chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan and shrimp parmesan over spaghetti with housemade marinara sauce. We appreciated that Caesar salad with parmesan cheese and olive came with entree meals. Fresh basil gave salad good flavor. Tiramisu was pretty good. Employees were helpful and friendly. read more

Here for the week on business and I prefer supporting locally owned businesses. Stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out. What I didn't expect was was the variety of pizzas by the slice in the display window and all the yummy desserts! My order was ready in 20 minutes and let me tell you ...it's one of THE BEST white pies I've had in a really really long time. I added pepperoni to mine and it was perfect! I'd share pictures but my dog and I scarfed it down so fast that I forgot to hahaha HIGHLY recommend and glad I found it - when I'm back on business rounds I will definitely be eating here again!!! read more

I found out about The Pizza Joint when I decided to check out this car meet Event by Ricky JDM Toys on 4/19/2024. I got there early before the car meet started and decided to get dinner at the Pizza Joint. I ordered a Chicken Francese over Angel Hair Pasta. The prices were thankfully reasonable and when I say Wow I mean wow the food was top notch here! You could tell they use quality food ingredients because the food was great! Not to mention the portion sizes were generous (some places barely give you anything today and overcharge!) It's really hard to find good Italian food anywhere these days but this pizzeria just does it right. My other friends I was hanging out with ordered the pizza and they really liked it. They had the plain cheese slice and I think it was a BBQ slice. They said it tasted really good. Some pizzerias and other places that have a sour marinara sauce taste which really ruins the pizza but this place got it right. I thought it was a cool spot so I decided to buy a hat too. I met and chatted with the owner Dino about cars, motorcycles and pizza for a little while before the event started. Dino was super friendly, approachable and asked how we liked the food. He talked to me and my friends about how he used to be a chef at many other restaurants is Italian- American and how long pizza joints been around. Not too long later more people started showing up with their cars for the event and me and my friends went to go check out the event. The event was really cool. There was a big turn out, many different car types, some rare exotic cars and Dino came out to make sure all the people attending the event were respectful of the event. read more

My brother purchased some type of chicken vodka sandwich for pick-up today for lunch. He returned to work and couldn't eat the chicken. He called to explain, and they asked him if he could return it and they would replace it with a cheesesteak. When returned there and explained about the problem the owner was rude. He threw the sandwich in the garbage and called him a liar and to get out of his store before he called the police. When I heard this from my brother I immediately called and asked to talk to the owner. I explained to him that two of us at work tried the chicken and agreed it was not cooked correctly. I told him it had nothing to do with money it's how he treated a customer ( my brother). I explained we also own a company and would never treat a customer that way or we wouldn't have any customers. He did wish me a Merry Christmas but in a rude way. The food was always good in the past and never experienced any problems. But unfortunately, he just lost a few customers. Word of mouth is the best way to promote or hurt a business. read more

We have ordered 3 times now and 2 out of the 3 times our order was wrong. Tonight I ordered 2 Sandwiches, a Dinner, and small truffle pizza. I was quoted 45mins to an hour for delivery time. I said multiple times no cheese, sauce, or onions. Order arrived 1hr & 15mins later. As I was paying husband discovered the Steak Sandwich was loaded with cheese. Driver asked if I wanted another sandwich and I said yes. My son ordered The Mad Dog Mateo Joint. For $15.00 you'd expect it to be stuffed and good bread but nope. Also no where does it indicate that they charge a delivery fee. Ours was $7.00. We'll stick with our normal pizza places from now on. The Truffle Pizza and the Pasta Al Forno we're good. read more

This place was busy on Thursday night. The parking lot is small had search for parking. I ordered the pepperoni pizza which was so good and fried calamari which was also very good. Our waitress was friendly and the food came fast. I will definitely support this business again. read more

Best pizza in Lehigh valley hands down and the staff very friendly I highly recommend go ASAP and try this place!!!

Extremely slow delivery and bad service. I ordered food and it took over 2 hours to be delivered. They gave me an ETA and then took over an hour after the ETA to deliver the food. I had to call them to convince them to even make my order which was supposedly forgotten about because of issues with the app. They told me I would receive a refund. Then when I worked with the app to get my refund, they changed their story to "being so busy they didn't see my order." Considering the quality of the food they surely can't be THAT busy. They refused to authorize my refund and lied to the app support so that they wouldn't have to issue my refund. I suppose there is no level of depravity to which they would not sink to hold onto their almighty dollar. When I did get the food it wasn't that good. It was rather powdery for a pizza. It was certainly not worth the $75 and over 2 hours wait. Definitely do not recommend them and will not be ordering from them again. read more

This was our first experience eating The Pizza Joints food and it won't be our last!!! The food was absolutely delish! Joe the owner is personable and generous! My husband and I are both high risk, tomorrow is my husband and my 14 year anniversary, & sunday is Mother's Day and because of Covid-19 finances are tight. Joe graciously donated chicken cutlet parmigiana, penne alla vodka, salad, cannolis, and even chicken fingers and fries for my daughters! The food was Amazing! The chicken cutlets were crispy not all soggy, the Sauce was amazing, and the penne alla vodka had tons of flavor! I don't normally comment about pizza on here because I have my favorites in my area, but today I was treated to something fantastic, outstanding, even extraordinary!! I ordered a grandma's style pizza with a little extra cheese and received exactly what I expected. The best part of my experience was not the great customer service I received on the phone, not the fast response and delivery that I received, but the pizza itself. It was more than I expected. I have been aquatinted with Joe Grisafi food style for a little while., He, along with his family operated the former Taste of Italy Bar & Grill on Catasaqua Rd. I was beyond delighted when I heard he opened The Pizza Joint on Airport Rd. It is nestled between H&R Block and the Wine and Spirits. We immediately ordered for pick up and the pizza had the same authentic flavor that we loved and missed so much. He has a few tables and booths if you want to grab a meal there. My girlfriend and I did that the following week. We absolutely loved our meal. He has a yummy menu posted online for viewing and for call ahead orders. He has slices, pizza, lunch bowls and dinners. I did pick up slices one evening to take home. He happened to open shortly before all this Carona mess hit. he had a great variety to choose from. They are now open for delivery and curbside pickup only, of course! Trust me when I say you won't be sorry!! I truly missed their unique flavours of Italian cuisine! read more

Food was disgusting. It was cold and the guy behind the counter was beyond rude.

My boyfriend and I ordered a margarita pizza, mozzarella sticks, and a chicken piccata from this place. The pizza and mozzarella sticks were obviously good. The crust was extra crispy which gave it an extra satisfying crunch. However, the chicken piccata was awful and I couldn't even eat it. The spaghetti that came with it was tolerable, but was very bland. The chicken also was bland and clearly overcooked as it was rubbery and was curled and shrivel at the edges. I felt bad that my boyfriend paid nearly $30 for our meals and I didn't even like mine. I think there are better pizza places in Allentown. read more

I live in NYC, and come to stay and visit with my sister frequently. I had seen a friend from the area post pictures from the pizza joint, and convinced my brother in law who frequently buys pizza from the area, to try out the pizza joint. We had ordered a supreme well done and when I arrived to pick up, (I'm assuming the manager/owner) first checked the pizza and determined it wasn't well done enough. He offered to throw it back in to get the crust well done. Since I had to wait, he threw in some cinnamon knots. A+++ move in food service. Then, I watched as he put on a new glove, to pick off the torched basil, and put on a handful of fresh basil. Excellent customer service PIZZA JOINT!! The pizza was hot and delicious. Veggies were fresh and crisp and the parmesan sprinkled on top was a wonderful touch in addition to the fantastic fresh basil. My brother in law now says that this is his pizza place. I found out about this place when they supplied free food for my department during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was baked zielt and a garlic sticks. This prompted me to give them my business, I wanted to repay their nice gesture. So the first time I ordered from them I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and hot wings, unfortunately this order was FUBAR by the time it reached my door. They have my a cheesesteak and pierogis, which were aright. I was so upset with my ordered I had completely lost my appetite, so I ate cheesesteak the next day which wasn't the ideal way eat that. Now let's talk about this pizza, this god forsaken pizza...it was a buffalo chicken pie with actual buffalo chicken tenders instead of chip chicken or whatever else, that's the good news the bad news is that the ENTIRE pie was covered in blue cheese and not like Mozzarella was the main cheese source and the blue was extra. Nope, opposite and it was inedible. So you're asking how did they get 5 stars? I'll tell you how I learned my lesson and I'll never order that pizza again. What gets the place 5 stars are their wings, and their regular pies. The wings are a good size and the hot sauce is a perfect level of hot where it's still enjoyable. Their regular pies are fantastic, the sauce is good, cheese has a nice string to it and they throw fresh basil which amplifies all the flavors. The pepperoni is my go to topping, but their toppings list is pretty extensive. The other pie I recommend is the Vodka pie where instead of classic marinara it's replaced with a pink vodka sauce, I put meatballs on mine and it was divine. This is now my go to pizza place in Allentown, the delivery people are nice, and they are always either on time or early with their deliveries. If you live in their delivery radius or you live close to airport rd absolutely check them out. read more

The cheesesteak was very good. One of the best cheesesteaks I ever had, ever. BUT, if you're gonna eat here I recommend you either taking it to go or getting it delivered. The dine in experience was very unwelcoming. They do not bring the food to you, unless he knows you personally. If I'm dining in, I expect the food to be brought to me. The owner is very arrogant and talks to his workers and deliver drivers as if they're his servants. It was very uncomfortable witnessing how he treats them. One of the workers even got mad at the owner and started having a outburst and started throwing items into the boxes and was cursing because he was mad at the owners attitude. The owner was very rude to my niece and I because we asked twice where our pizza was because we were waiting for our pie for over 30 minutes. He caught a attitude and told us "we had to wait, geesh" then when it was time to go, I stood at the register and he asked what did I want? I asked him for a Togo box and he asked me "why do I need a box if I had one?" With a attitude. I told him we were splitting the pizza and going to separate locations and he handed me another box with a attitude. So I gave him a attitude back and decided to leave my pizza. The pizza also wasn't good, btw. I let him know I would not come back to the establishment ever again. He only smiles and is nice to those he knows, if he doesn't know you, he will not be respectful. He just seems like he wants your money and wants you to go about your business. He needs to learn better customer service because he honestly gives a horrible vibe as if he does not like people of color.
