Orchid Steakhouse is an Italian-inspired upscale steakhouse located on East Third Street in Bethlehem. It's open Tuesday through Thursday from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Friday and Saturday from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. I stopped in for the first time on Friday night and was thoroughly impressed. The food was excellent, and the service from the entire staff, especially our servers Becca and Cody, was truly top notch. I started with the bone marrow risotto and the scallops appetizer. The risotto was rich, creamy, and full of deep savory flavor, while the scallops were perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced, with a subtle kick from the wasabi mashed. For my steak I went with the 17 oz ribeye, cooked to a flawless medium rare. Every bite was juicy and delicious. For sides, I chose ricotta creamed asparagus and lobster mac. The asparagus was tender and luxuriously coated in a velvety ricotta sauce, and the lobster mac arrived piping hot and super creamy. Both were great accompaniments to my steak. I had heard really good things about Orchid, a new Lehigh Valley steak house so we decided to give it a try. We made reservations only to arrive in the evening to an empty restaurant. Our waiter, Cody came over and introduced himself and took our drink order. The restaurant is decorated nicely and had a good feel to it. Cody brought our drinks and told us about the days specials. We ordered some Filet Mignons (medium rare) and a side order of Asparagus. Another waiter delivered our food and Cody came over to ask how everything looked. I cut into my steak and it was pink in the center even though it had a mean char on the outside. The steaks were served with some mashed potatoes and a carrot. He said he'd be back to ask how it is. He didn't come back until we were close to finished. If he had come back sooner, I would have told him that the steak was overdone and dry and the asparagus & carrots were overcooked and mushy. Phenomenal steakhouse. Highly recommend a reservation prior. Drinks are always simple but delicious (they make less sugary cocktails which is a plus for me). Appetizers are solid. Steaks are always cooked perfectly. My friends and I commonly get one of the larger steaks such as the tomahawk or porterhouse and they are always well seasoned and not soaked in butter like a lot of other places. Went with a part of. 4 for a 65 birthday - was sat by the door, which blasted cold air every 3 minutes when anyone left or entered- ordered drinks, asked if I could have my "special drink" a little less sweet and was told they were made by the batch so could not be altered- so much for a "special cocktail " next we had apps which were fine..then our mains came out and the one was incorrect- and took a half hour to get the 4th entree- no apology- so 3 of us finished our entree and hers came out... our lobster linguine was so salty it was almost inedible- when we stated that the waiter said oh maybe it's the sauce...no, can I fix it or get you something else? So we were then done and they brought out the special birthday desert- a scoop of store bought vanilla ice cream with a squirt of whip cream- I've done more elaborate desserts for my pet... will not go back! Had the seafood tower here and it was borderline gross. The oysters were tiny and dry. The crab salad had a strange taste. The manhattan cocktail on special was way too sweet. The clientele consisted of middle-aged to senior-aged white people, in the middle of diverse South Bethlehem. Bummer! Definitely a super cute spot with food just as great as the atmosphere. We started with the meatballs and soup, delicious! Then we got the Beef Wellington which was an amazing portion and fantastic taste. We also got the Scallop and Mushrooms which was very good, and a side of Brocolini, also good. There was a birthday at the table, so they brought out cake, but I got the Espresso Martini Flight, Amazing! The other bar selections were also really good. Ordered 2 dozen oysters to share and got very sick off of them. It's a risk you take with raw oysters so it's not the restaurants fault, but that's the first time that's ever happened to us. Cute little place in Bethlehem. We were early birds at 4:30 on a Wednesday night so we could have a quick date night. We had two servers and they were both attentive. I had the night in Rome cocktail, and it was just ok. And a couple of glasses of wine which were good. We had the meatball appetizer super good! Also had a great fillet which was cooked perfectly to temp. We also ordered the beef ragu which definitely wasn't bad but the sauce was a bit sweet for my liking. We ordered sides of Brussels sprouts (which weren't prepared much differently from home and I'd probably skip next time) and the Mac and cheese with lobster claw which was really good. That would have been enough for us to just be disappointed and move on, but then there was this bizarre situation where a young blond woman was doing like a social media photo shoot or something. We asked out of curiosity (thinking maybe that had caused a distraction for the staff and contributed to our mediocre meal) - our server said "oh Samantha is an "owner" (literally air quoted and eye-rolled) and that everyone hates her and she lies about being a model and just posts her ass online for clout. The resstaurant is very classy . They have a great menu.; My friend and I shared the 48 ounce porterhouse steak with a nine ounce lobster tail. We each had an appetizer and a salad. I've been wanting to come here since I heard of this place a few weeks ago, and my lady surprised me for my birthday by bringing me here. Walking into this restaurant was so welcoming, and the decor was so cool, dark, and very intimate. We were seated by a corner window, which was just perfect. I ordered Pollo al limone, Truffle Risotto with bone marrow, Caviar, and I've got to say that chicken was the top 3 best of all time chicken in my book It was DELICIOUS!!! The caviar was very delicious as well, but the mushrooms they put in with the Truffle Risotto, omg I was in heaven. I absolutely loved it! WE shared an order of oysters, and yes, that was great as well. My lady ordered the Filet mignon, and of course I had to try it out, and the steak is definitely worth its price. My girlfriend also surprised me with a delicious piece of tiramisu. Being that that was my first ever piece of tiramisu, it was the best I ever had, lol, but I'm very sure when I try somebody elses tiramisu, it won't even compare. It was a surprise because it was for my birthday and the waiter brought it out without me knowing with candles on it. I was extremely happy that they didn't get the staff and sing a cheesey happy birthday song to me in front of all the other patrons. All in all this is a top notch, fancy, and really cool place ( don't ask me what im doing here lol ) with some of the greatest food in the Lehigh Valley with great service and great people working there. My wife and I enjoyed some drinks at The Orchid Steakhouse on Friday night. Wasn't planning to eat but the special that night was wagyu sliders that couldn't be passed up. They were incredible. Our drinks were top notch. The Spicy Avocado Margarita and Red Moon Old Fashion were well presented and well made. The bread they bring to the table is unreal. Don't fill up on that, but good luck. Rarely do you find a steakhouse staffed correctly with every person on the floor perfectly executing their job. Your food is timed, your drinks are full, and they use that cute little scraper so that your mess is always cleaned. The perfect Mac and cheese with a large party all being served different meals that everyone enjoyed. When does that happen. This is fine dining. Get dressed up and head out. My meal had creamed spinach w wild mushrooms covering half of the plate. The white sauce covered about 1/2 of the over cooked Brussels. Also, the sauce on the chicken was covering 3/4 of the plate with overcooked asparagus. Service was okay except for the main dish delivery plunked on the table by a "I don't like my job" guy who didn't ask who ordered which meal(he had a 50/50 shot).
