Get the premium cheesesteak! It's at the top of the list in the Lehigh Valley! The service is decent and the ambiance is laid back.

Ordered pickup from here and it was ready in 15 minutes! Casual takeout spot with a few tables. Typical eastern PA sandwich shop... Except the steak hoagies in the Lehigh Valley hit different. Ordered a pizza steak and side of pierogis. The pierogis are I N C R E D I B L E!!! Order some if you're thinking about it! The steak with the sauce and hot peppers is everything. So good! Great flavor and the bread stays firm and doesn't fall apart. I wish this was closer to where I live, but it will be special when I come back next time to visit!

    Half of a large cheesesteak.

Looking at the reviews I thought this would be a good place. When I got there everything was overpriced (3.50 for a 20oz bottle of soda), the place was empty and looked dirty. But I figured I would give it a try as the photos and reviews were good. When I got the food I was sad to say the steaks were not filled, falling apart and bland. If I could name my price I wouldnt have paid half. Same yourself the cost and get better steaks elsewhere.

First time trying Eli's and was highly impressed! Fresh bread, loaded cheesesteak and amazing pierogis.

I stopped by on Black Friday to grab cheesesteaks with the family. We were promptly taken out separate orders and food came out fast and hot. I did the homemade pierogies (an absolute must have!) and large cheesesteak on a seeded roll. I asked for sauce on the side (I didn't like the sauce, and you didn't need sauce) the cheesesteak was excellent. Next time I would try the ribeye $2 upgrade. Definitely will be back!

This is a neighborhood hoagie shop. Small steak sandwich with onion, mushroom and marinara sauce was very good. The buns are so good they add to deliciousness of the sandwich. Owner was very nice.

I have been trying to get here for about a year and finally got the chance. Eli's is considered a top 5 steak in the LV by a lot of people I respect so I had to find out for myself. I have at least a very strong top 3 so there is room in that top 5, but it'll have to knock at least one more decent steak out. The meat was seasoned well, the onions were cooked well and had the proper dice to them, and the roll was solid. The ability to get cooper sharp on a steak always makes the place an instant point higher or so in my opinion. Steak was a bit pricey but what isn't these days? I would definitely say this slides into the top 5 in the LV for me. I've heard their other sandwiches are just as good so i'll need to go back soon, but Eli's - Didn't Suck! Check out my TikTok video from Eli's and many others in the LV area!

I had cheesesteaks on my mind today and no better place to scratch the itch than ordering up the best in the valley: Eli's Original Steaks & Subs in Bethlehem. Cooper Cheese fried onions on an Egypt Star Bakery French loaf. Absolute perfection! Moist, well seasoned, creamy, and a roll that could win an up hill battle. This is my undisputed number one around these parts. There is over 1lb of meat in this large sandwich! #rushieeats #takemymoney #610dining

She was welcoming, friendly, attentive, informative and professional. We were pleasantly surprised with brunch menu and specials. We ordered the half carafe of mimosas. Just the right mix of champagne with a tasty orange juice in flutes. I ordered a breakfast entree, which did not disappoint. A plump veggie omelette filled with fresh grilled mushrooms, peppers, and cheese with a side of breakfast potatoes-delish! My friend was equally as pleased with her eye catching and palate pleasing Cobb salad - perfectly sized portion of mix of fresh greens(good portion of romaine), fresh hard boiled egg, picture perfect avocado, delicious grilled, tasty chicken with a side of blue cheese dressing. We opted for booth seating in the bar area( plenty of natural sunlight). There is a large dining room and outdoor seating (we chose A/C yesterday, due to high humidity). They also have an extensive list of their brewed beers on tap, samplers and the like.... which they are known for. Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday brunch( available every Sunday). Definitely, will be going back.. again and again. Extensive menu!

However, the overall experience was disappointing due to slow service, lack of communication, and issues with the food. We visited after the Lehigh Graduate Commencement Ceremony and were seated from 1:30-3:00 PM. Our server, Younise, only checked on us roughly every 15 minutes. It then took 45 minutes for pretzels and another 30 minutes for our 2 entrees. While we overheard that the kitchen was behind, this was never communicated to us directly, which made the long wait more frustrating. There was also an issue with my order. I ordered the Caesar salad wrap (Julius' Chicken Dance $14), but I was brought a Caesar salad with chicken ($3 up-charge) instead. The server did not offer to have the kitchen correct it or provide an alternative. After discussing it, I eventually asked if she could bring me a tortilla so I could make the wrap myself. A 15% discount was applied, which I appreciated, but the bill still listed the incorrect meal and reflected the higher-priced salad instead of the wrap I originally ordered. The burger was also underwhelming, as the cheese was not melted. For a meal that came to over $60 for pretzels, a burger, a salad item, and one drink, I expected better communication, food quality, and customer service. The ambiance was great, but the entrees and service unfortunately did not match the setting

Service was great, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. For apps we did the pirogies which were some of the best I've ever had, the red wine sauce was amazing!, as well as the shoulder lean which was good. For an entree, I did the Jimmy Pesto wrap. Good flavor and massive portion, but the chicken was very dry. Husband got the What's the Dilla, which was great and again a massive portion. We also enjoyed most our cocktails.

I mentioned this and was told that's because many of the same craftsmen worked on this place too. Made me feel smart! If you go. Do yourself a favor and walk around a bit. The food was very tasty I think it is the only restaurant I've been in locally that didn't use excessive amounts of salt. A big plus. The mixed drinks were interesting and reasonably strong. I usually quaff mine down fairly rapidly, savoring the buzz during dinner and still safely driving home after. I had potato soup, which was very good, and Ming had Beet Carpaccio, which was thinly sliced seared root veggies with seasoning. I only had a bite because she wanted it all! Then came dinner. I had the ribeye, which was done so that it was seared one the outside to keep the flavor in and red (while being cooked thru, not an easy feat) and it's was flavored but not overly salty, were unusual. I ordered my usual Worcestershire sauce to clean off the extra salt, but hardly used any. Ming had the crab cake, which was the only negative of the meal. While not overtired or salty, there was a bit of a fishy smell. Not terrible, but off putting. Luckily for me, I don't like crab anyway so I didn't have any. The desserts were good, with a tasty chocolate cake and a peach cobbler that was good but could have had a bit of peach goo to moisten it a bit. The prices were very competitive considering the venue AND the quality of the food. The bar was hopping too because it looked like a great place to hang out with friends!

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.
