    Cheesesteak
    Patricia N.

I like breakfast! I love quality, hot coffee better! With that being said, we had errands to run in this neck of the wooods and always eager to try new restaurants. It's a small building on main route 309 N and has been there half a century as indicated by the waitress when I asked if I could trade my cup of coffee in for a small grapefruit juice. She took it personal, mentioning in 57 years, no one has ever had issue with it. I perk organic coffee at home and their coffee tasted like soapy water, sort of conditioned water from salt tablets. The water tasted same way. She obliged with a replacement. The lone server, Lisa, was hustling through the small establishment this weekday in September. I always try a pancake plus an egg dish. And hubs always gravitates to the cheesesteak with a side. The fried potatoes quarters were previously frozen and the eggs were fluffy and good. pork roll was standard. The lone pancake was surprised fluffy The cheesesteak was flavorful and the highlight were the side of homemade pierogi from a local source. Refer to my photos. The bill was $32. Tip $20. Off to next new breakfast place.

Great service, super friendly and fast. Food came quickly and the potatoes taste fresh. Love that it has a crunch to it. Will definitely be back!

Love the long time local feel since the 1960's! It's simple, clean, and happy! I'm so happy that we have this spot in our backyard now that we moved only 5 minutes away. Breakfast all day is my happy place.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

I ordered an omelette, and my son had the eggs Benedict. Both dishes came out looking great, and the coffee was also surprisingly good. It had that fresh, smooth flavor that's hard to find at most breakfast spots. My omelette was a bit on the mild side, not heavily seasoned, but I actually prefer it that way. It might feel a little too bland for someone who likes bolder flavors, though. Overall, it was a pleasant breakfast and a great way to start the day. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Some things were good, others were disappointing. I couldn't decide between the breakfast tacos and the G145 egg sandwich, so I got both. This was the first time I ever ordered breakfast tacos so I'm glad they were delicious! They were piled high with chorizo, scrambled eggs, tater tots, cheddar jack cheese, pico, and sour cream. The G145 egg sandwich consists of two eggs, bacon, & American cheese on a brioche bun. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the roll was soft and flavorful. My dad ordered a strip steak and eggs. He said, "it was okay, it's kind of tough". A medium rare steak should never be tough. My mom ordered two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and toast. She enjoyed the eggs and toast, but said the potatoes were awful. I had some with my sandwich and I have to agree with her. They were bland and dry. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good, but the service was substandard. Our server was super unattentive. Eating and socializing behind the bar was more of a priority than checking on her tables. I was still generous enough to tip 20%. Pickup and delivery are both available. Overall, it was a decent meal. The clean diner had menu special whiteboards, and the menu itself was your typical diner fare for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Prices were mostly in the under $15 range. I had the "homemade" French Onion Soup and felt like Gordon Ramsey asking if it really was homemade to which our waiter said it was. I also had the appetizer pierogies. I was expecting sautéed with onions and got deep fried with sour cream. They were nothing great. Soup was decent except there was no bread inside. My brother had a Mexican wrap which came with fries, and a bowl of homemade chili. Again, both were fine and mouth/tongue burning hot. The chili should have also come with some bread.
