On our way back to the Jersey Shore from a night spent in Jim Thorpe we were looking for a local diner to have breakfast. We found the Country View Diner, and although it was 10 miles off the highway, we felt the reviews made the trip worth it. We arrived to a small roadside diner. Decorated in old school 90s country charm. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken. The menu offered many different breakfast varieties from omelettes to scrambles and even the big breakfasts which I love that have everything you could want from pancakes to eggs, toast, and potatoes all to make my big belly happy. And the prices were really fair, dare I say cheap.the portions were nice and big and everything was as good as you would want. Glad we made the trip. read more

The first thing I ever tried here was the Sausage breakfast casserole with over medium eggs on top (I add mushrooms) and honestly I've never tried anything else because it's was so damn good! I order it every time I'm off on a weekday and my kids are in school and it's perfect every time! Maybe one day I will try something else lol Keep up the great job Country View! My wife and I rate this as our favorite diner of all diners in the Lehigh Valley area. The food is always excellent no matter what dish we get and the service is always top notch. In addition the servings are sometimes more than we can eat with very good prices to top it all off. read more

Country View Diner is very cute and has that classic diner charm. This isn't the type of food I would eat every day, but that's just me. If you're looking for a cheap and satisfying diner breakfast, this is the place to go. It's a lot bigger than you'd expect, so even with an overflowing parking lot on a busy Sunday there was no wait. Tables remain spaced out pretty well and the booths have plexiglass in between. Silverware is individually packaged. Menu is comprehensive, food is good, coffee is great. Looking forward to returning to try some of their desserts - the Boston cream pie looked amazing. read more

Since I just wrote a review, I have stopped again & had the the Black Diamond Steak of the senior menu. While the menu says it's 6 oz I thought it seemed bigger. In any case, it was done medium rare as I requested and more than adequate in size. Had the stuffing with gravy and a cup of pepper pot soup. Came with a roll. Potatoes could have been sliced a littler smaller in the soup, but it was good soup. Gravy on my stuffing. Came with desert and I got the ride pudding. Fast service - food was out before I finished my soup. Years ago, my wife and I used to patronize Stahley's on Hanover Ave. in Allentown. We always had the Black Diamond Steak with the baked potato, side salad, and roll. Back in the day it was under $10. of course, I could have a few beers and the wife had her ice tea. Can't beat this senior citizen meal. read more

The servers were not friendly. They were blatantly more friendly to the male patrons. The food is not fresh...it seems they buy frozen and warm it up. Also, the cashier gave me back the wrong change . I gave her 2 $10 bills for a$13.00 check and she entered it as $15 returning $2.00 and change. I should not have left a tip. They don't take credit cards... I know why... so they can scam you. Avoid this place. read more

This place has the best bean soup I have ever eaten. The guys liked their breakfast, but I opted for lunch. The place is not fancy, but they use real dishes and silverware. The waitress is friendly and attentive. For a country diner this place is excellent. If you are in the area, stop in for a comfortable lunch. read more

In the area and knew nothing about the restaurants. Good find for dinner...I ordered the broiled seafood trio with haddock, scallops, and shrimp. It was very good for a local diner serving seafood! The lettuce was iceberg on the salad bar, which is the only reason I didn't give them a 5/5. Overall, a very nice country experience! read more

I'm reviewing solely on my breakfast experience last weekend. I've never been there for dinner and won't be returning. We stopped in Sunday morning, looking for breakfast and saw Country View with a full parking lot. That's usually a good sign. So we parked, went in, were greeted and seated promptly. I ordered the 3pc raisin french toast. This was not french toast. This was regular sized raisin bread buttered and put on a pan for a few minutes to make warm. Thin, small in size and extremely disappointing. Not to mention that my side of pork roll left a puddle of grease on the plate. My wife ordered the special which was a Belgian waffle with cream dried beef on it. A fork full of the waffle with the cream dried beef tasted like wet flour. The waffle had no taste and the cream dried beef tasted like dust. Not sure if they don't season anything they make or not but it was a very disappointing experience. I left hungry and we will not be back. read more

My friend and I just keep going back to this place! They never let us down yet! And the bill is always so reasonable compared to everywhere else, we ask why would we go anywhere else? The specials are always a great choice, then you get soup and desert, and the bill makes you glad you came. And there's plenty to pick from on the menu if you don't like the specials, and the cook has no problem making from the menu. The ladies are great, and we are glad to tip fairly.
