We went to The Mason Jar for Mother's Day with my mom and grandmother, and unfortunately the entire experience was disappointing from start to finish. After someone initially took our drink order and brought the drinks, we didn't see any wait staff again for about 30 minutes. When a waitress finally came to take our food order, she seemed completely unfamiliar with the menu. She asked us to order by number instead of by item name, couldn't explain what came with meals, and didn't know the available sides because they weren't listed on the menu. She only rattled off a few options quickly. Even the "soup of the day" changed depending on who at the table asked about it. They also forgot my mom's soup altogether, and we had to flag down another staff member much later to get it brought out. Most of the food was average diner fare and perfectly acceptable, but my mom's steak was a major issue. She ordered one of the holiday specials, a filet mignon medium rare, but what came out clearly was not filet mignon. It looked more like a ribeye, had a gray color and odd smell, and was cooked extremely well done. When she politely brought it to the waitress's attention, the waitress acted annoyed that we said anything at all. In fact, she seemed irritated with our table throughout the entire meal. Eventually a manager came over and admitted they had brought the wrong steak. They offered to remake it, but by that point my mom no longer felt comfortable ordering another steak, especially since the table next to us was simultaneously sending one back as well. To their credit, they did remove the steak from the bill. Overall, the service was disorganized, communication was poor, and the atmosphere felt stressful instead of welcoming, especially for a holiday meal that was supposed to be special. Good food. Great prices. Always friendly and fast service. There isn't much around this area so they are truly a gem and have saved me and my husband many a late night and early morning! I really love their breakfast options, their burgers are also always a go to for us. read more

The reason for this post is at dinner tonight there was a man, who we see every trip, putting silverware in plastic bags. We were told he is the manager's father. He had just eaten a big meal. Super cute place, we were seated right away, though they were busy. Server took our drink order then didn't come back for 15 minutes as the party who sat after us was already ordering their food. We ended up getting a different waitress who brought our drinks and took our orders, had a bit of a rude demeanor while doing so, but food came out in good time Panini was mediocre but probably not worth the 30 minutes, been there once before that and it was great- just not super great service Thai time around. read more

This was a cute little diner we stopped at on our way home from NE Pa. We just ate breakfast. I would stop there again.

Went in, was told by an older gentleman behind the register it would be a little wait, wasn't phased as they were busy. One table was waiting to be cleared and a booth was open. After about 5 minutes the waitress said she'd sit us in the booth. I mentioned I hoped I fit as the booths are small, but she must not have heard me. Needless to say, it was too small. We sat for 10 minutes and they finally cleared the table. We still hadn't had our orders taken, so we asked to be moved to the just cleared table and we're told no, they were expecting a large party. So instead of waiting longer as the gentleman behind the register's only job seemed to be telling people they'd be right with them, no helping clear tables, give menus, or anything, we decided to leave. The food I ordered was unrecognizable, I ordered the country fried streak skillet and it came out burnt and dry. Upon inspection it had a hair in it and then I was pressured to pay for drinks and my friend's meal that were uneaten. The woman at the register kept saying aweee to my experience as she proceeded to tell me what I owed. NEVER RETURNING. read more

This dinner on the corner of 309 and 895 outside New Ringgold is a lovely little spot to grab a bite to eat. The waitstaff was wonderful and attentive. (They get 2 thumbs up). The porch has a beautifu view of the mountains (your a little off the road but the noise is not too bad. The food is perfectly good diner food. Turkey dinner was fresh and the cheese ravioli was pretty good. The homemade rice pudding was a great way to end the meal. Stop by. You'll be plesantly surprised. read more

Today I go into the Mason jar restaurant and I'm sitting there eating my food. One customer says how old are you to an employee and then I said you could be my mom (remind you I'm only 20 years old) and the employee was only five years younger than me. There was nothing rude about that with what I said and the owners dad says don't be rude to our customers. I couldn't really hear him then he goes back to the back kitchen and starts talking to his daughter the owner of the restaurant, Tiff. She could've said something to me but instead had to run back to his daughter. I get a text message from the owner today that was very unprofessional. I'm never going there again I don't know how she got my number almost like stalking me. I never said anything about her father when I was there and highly recommend not going here read more

All the way from Long Island, NY, this was the best breakfast I had in a very long time. On a recent hay run I stopped in for breakfast. The place was clean and everyone was very friendly. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was cooked perfectly. My eggs were done to my liking ( they rarely are) and my husband's bacon was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a side of pancakes and they were also perfect. Everything tasted great. I honestly can't wait to come back. read more

This place is trash, the wait staff sucks, the food sucks and it's turning into the shit place that was their before it. The mother and daughter team I love so much is no longer their; Cheyanne and Regina. I'm actively looking to see if their still serving in the area because they were the absolute best!! The entire vibe of this place changed. I use to have fun here, it was like a comic show combined with a buffet resulting in a grown up chucky cheese. I miss my girls; their spirit, energy and compassion, along with their recommendations. You can't find that anymore.
