Griddle 145 is a brunch restaurant located on MacArthur Rd. in Whitehall. They are open Tue - Sun 8AM - 2PM. I stopped in with my parents on Friday around noon. Some things were good, others were disappointing. I couldn't decide between the breakfast tacos and the G145 egg sandwich, so I got both. This was the first time I ever ordered breakfast tacos so I'm glad they were delicious! They were piled high with chorizo, scrambled eggs, tater tots, cheddar jack cheese, pico, and sour cream. The G145 egg sandwich consists of two eggs, bacon, & American cheese on a brioche bun. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the roll was soft and flavorful. My dad ordered a strip steak and eggs. He said, "it was okay, it's kind of tough". A medium rare steak should never be tough. My mom ordered two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and toast. She enjoyed the eggs and toast, but said the potatoes were awful. I had some with my sandwich and I have to agree with her. They were bland and dry. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good, but the service was substandard. Our server was super unattentive. Eating and socializing behind the bar was more of a priority than checking on her tables. I was still generous enough to tip 20%. Pickup and delivery are both available. Had breakfast at Griddle 145 and really enjoyed it. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in, which set a great tone for the meal. I ordered an omelette, and my son had the eggs Benedict. Both dishes came out looking great, and the coffee was also surprisingly good. It had that fresh, smooth flavor that's hard to find at most breakfast spots. My omelette was a bit on the mild side, not heavily seasoned, but I actually prefer it that way. It might feel a little too bland for someone who likes bolder flavors, though. Overall, it was a pleasant breakfast and a great way to start the day. My family and I were visiting PA for the holidays and was looking for a breakfast/lunch place on December 24, 2023. The day being Christmas Eve, some places were closed. We came across Griddle 145 in our search and we arrived around 11:00am. Normal business hours are 8am to 2pm, but we saw a sign on the door that saids it will close at 12pm. We were worried they weren't going to seat us and had to eat quickly, but thankfully, we were able to enjoy our meal. A couple of more groups were seated after us. I ordered the shrimp tacos which had grilled shrimp, cabbage, roasted corn, Pico de Gallo, and creamy cilantro lime sauce. It was served with tortilla chips and pico. I enjoyed the tacos and they were a good portion. The tortilla was soft and all the ingredients were fresh. The yummy creamy cilantro lime sauce was oozing out of the tacos. Other family members had coffee, orange juice, house hash, farm scramble, Gabe's breakfast melt, and build your own omelet. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was wonderful. This is my second time at Griddle 145. I visited close to when they first opened and wasn't all that happy with the experience so I was hesitant to go back, but some years had passed and this is where the family wanted to go. My second time there was great, and there were plenty of options for vegetarians. I had the scallion pancake, which was a unique and tasty dish that impressed everyone. I also had a vague memory of the coffee not being very good on my first trip. This time around, it was perfect - super strong the way I like it and the exact right accompaniment for breakfast. My kid had the breakfast tacos which was an impressively large dish that he devoured. My wife had the mushroom scramble, which was beautiful. She's gluten-free and it was awfully nice that they had a gluten-free English muffin option for her. We definitely will come back and eat more here. This was a great experience with options for everyone with all our varying diets. read more

Brunch here is awesome! They get busy with good reason! It's been a couple years since I've been there but I recall the food was great! My friend who is gluten free with a lot of allergies likes that they are accommodating to her needs. I've been going here with family and friends several times per year for a few years now and I've always enjoyed the food and the service has always been friendly. I typically get one of the two vegan breakfasts (both of which are excellent), and the also-vegan banana-topped coconut French toast (also very good, especially with vegan butter and real maple syrup). Of course this place serves non-vegan foods, which is their norm; I'm just happy they accommodate me and my best friend with very tasty vegan options. My parents and girlfriend have gotten plenty of eggs, pancakes, and various other types of non-vegan breakfasts here and they've never had a complaint; they've always said their meals were good. The ambience is your average sit-down restaurant style, casual, and the noise varies by how busy it is (seems a popular place, so it can be sometimes noisy during breakfast and lunch). I don't recall loud music or TVs, but there is at least one TV near the bar (I don't know if they serve alcohol). The interior is clean and pleasant. I'm always happy to return! read more

My Significant other and I decided last minute to go to brunch and this place was just a few minutes drive from where we were. The service was great friendly staff, it wasn't busy for a Wednesday afternoon and the food portions were big! ( we weren't expecting this at all) The ambience was good but my s/o went to the bathroom and it wasn't clean at all. It looks nothing like the ambience of the dining space. The food was great I ordered pancakes, breakfast potatoes and orange juice and my s/o ordered the traditional French toast and hot chocolate. I would say the potatoes could use more seasoning and the hot chocolate was watery. It didn't taste like hot chocolate much. We got complimentary water but the pitcher the water was served from was dirty (like dry water spots on it? Maybe due to a dishwasher or something idk). One of my go to for breakfast. They have cheesy jalapeno grits which is just divine. Cheesy and a bit spicy, perfect combination. Not crazy about their home fries which are cut potatoes. I prefer them like old school style home fries, a bit mashed and crunchy on the outside. I love that they have vegan options such as no huevos rancheros and tofu scramble. I also like their scallion pancakes. Many options to choose from for breakfast. Last but not the least, good bloody Mary! Fast and friendly service! I liked this restaurant because of their unique menu, but the last time I was there, I saw something that sicken me and I will not return. As I sitting and enjoying my meal, I saw something run or roll across the floor from the corner of my eye. I thought I was just seeing things, until the rodent ran across the dining space the other way, which I saw head on. I am deathly afraid of rodents and could not get out of there fast enough. When I brought this situation to the server's attention, she said sorry and that was it; she could have at least comped our meal or called the manager over. If there are rodents running around during operation hours, I can only imagine what happens when they are close. If I could give no stars I would. Griddle 145 is a breakfast/lunch restaurant located south of the Whitehall shopping district. Parking lot is surprisingly large. There was a 20-minute wait for a seat, but as it was a holiday, we found that acceptable. They recommend using the Join Waitlist button on Google while traveling to the restaurant as it will shorten wait times. Interior is basic with a reasonable amount of seating and they do have a countertop seating area. Menu primarily consists of omelets and burgers. Beverages are Coke products served in bottles, but they do offer other drinks. Each table gets a carafe of water. Considering the crowd, the wait time for our food to arrive was short. The Rodeo Omelet was tasty and the presentation was excellent, with my friend's burger also being well prepared. Prices were fair for sit down. Had breakfast here on our way out and it was fantastic! We had a larger party size and they were able to seat us right away, despite being pretty busy. The portion sizes are incredible- especially the French toast! My only qualm was that they don't have decaf espresso. I just don't drink caffeine but love coffee beverages. Visited this breakfast spot on a Tuesday morning around 11am. The building on the outside and inside is underwhelming, but clean nonetheless. Could use a little more of a modern touch. We did not have to wait but most of the booths were taken. The menu is large and there are way too many great sounding options to choose from! The coffee was strong and tasty, the orange juice had pulp and tasted fresh, and our food was delightful - well plated and fresh! Our server, Kate, was attentive and friendly. Came here Sunday morning at end of November for pumpkin pancakes, which weren't available anymore for the season. Backyard Beans coffee was okay. Lemon ricotta pancakes were thin and pretty bland. Had known they were going to add powdered sugar and whipped cream I would have told them to leave those out. I was sitting at counter where there was apparently only one server waiting on patrons seated at counter. She kept disappearing, so I had to keep waiting for her to return to place order, get coffee refill, get water, had to wait long time to get the bill. Couldn't seem to get the attention of other servers to get her. Between mediocre food and lousy service it was not. experience. 5/8/2017 Cheese and vegetables were placed on top of omelet rather than inside omelet while cooking, the way I'm used to. I ordered Gouda cheese but tasted like goat cheese, which I'm not a fan of. Corned beef hash made of hose made corned beef brisket, potatoes, onions and peppers was very good. I gave one star for this. Farm Scramble contained old and dry potatoes and mushrooms, spinach seemed like it was canned spinach. Didn't care for coffee. read more

The ideas for the food were on target for a brunch menu but I would have preferred a little more of what was promised. Like just a touch more chocolate on "Tella Fella" or a little more gravy on my chicken and gravy. They just skimped ever so slightly on the toppings and I wanted more! Wow! I just ate there 20 minutes ago and I am in a state of bliss. I've never been here before, but I will return for more scrumptious food. I read other reviews that say the outside is not much to look at, and it is true. The inside looks very nice and modern. With lots of seating and a full bar, it is a nice place. Service was fast. I did not need to call my waitress over for anything. She was on it. I got coffee refills without asking. I ordered the house hash and my mind was blown. The potatoes were great, steak and peppers were even better. All of it covered in a ranchero sauce and an over easy egg created a wonderful mouth experience. I had to loosen my belt after the meal. My wife ordered chicken and waffles. Chicken was perfectly cooked and breaded with a tasty gravy on top. Belgian waffle was crisp and paired perfectly with the chicken. I will return here. read more

Stopped by on a late morning and found that there was only a small wait. We were seated in a less than five minutes. I ordered the nitro cold brew. It was pretty good. My sister-in-law got the mocha iced coffee and she loved it. I ordered the chorizo tacos, which were amazing. I shared a half order of the bananas Foster. I like that they had the option to have a full stack or half a stack, my fiancé got the rodeo omelette with the chorizo and he also enjoyed that my brother-in-law got the huevos rancheros. We came here on a saturday morning, we saw a lot of cars in the lot. We were told the wait was 45 mins, but we decided to wait anyways, because we reallly wanted to see what the hype is all about!
