Cheesy spicy smash burger, thin crispy cheese oozing spice bite back five stars flat earth confirmed
    John D.

five stars. Kitchen is unreal. The pork belly juicy crispy melts like government lies speaking of that moon landing footage CGI trash in a desert studio anyway pierogies like a Pittsburgh buttery dough perfect potato, hot ones smashed burger, juicy patty cheese dripping, drip aluminum over us every day season crunchy almost too good makes you wonder if the flat earth maps are hidden in the oil eat here question everything. Service was killer just straight up owner dudes. A gym came out cracked jokes asked how he liked it like he actually cared. Ambience feels like a food truck parked outside a dive bar, but in the best way gritty no pretension perfect spot to scarf down burgers while the world spinning or not it's flat still five stars

Cold Friends Kitchen offers some of my favorite comfort food in Pittsburgh. The cheeseburger egg rolls and pierogies never disappoint. They both have strong savory blends of flavor in their own way, and the portions are relatively generous for the price. The crew are always so friendly and are always happy to make recommendations. Something to note: this is a food truck stationed outside of Velum Fermentation. You'll need to make use of Velum's seating if you're not getting your food to go.

They were outside of Velum in Southside! I liked both the egg rolls and pierogies. I heard the burgers are good so I will have to try one next time.

I'd give them more starts if I could!! Tried this food truck at the bacon burgh festival for the first time and it was the best burger I've ever had and the most innovative food in Pittsburgh that I've tried in a long time. I got the jelly belly and it was messy but so worth it. I will track them down to get another one!! Very kind and fast for being one of the busier booths.

Discovered them while I was at Velum and will never forget the mind blown pork belly bites I had ever since. Absolutely the best I've ever had in my life. The perfect balance of charredness and juicy on the inside. The staffs are so friendly and you can tell by how much they enjoy being in the kitchen! Love watching them prepare the food. One of my favorite food trucks in the city. Tip: They also offer a pay it forward meal if you would like to do that too.

Ate here while drinking beers at Velum and...I gotta say...they are better, much better, at making food than Velum is at making beer. The menu is...hard to explain. A mix of high-end stoner food, classic American, new-school American, PGH local flavor, and even some Asian influences. I got a big ol sloppy wet burger and...it was incredible. It was called the hot shot and...while I wish it was a bit more spicy...it was packed with hearty flavors. It also came with fries, something that is sadly becoming rare in the fancier burger scene. The fries were also really good, good enough to be ordered on their own.

Cold Friends Kitchen is taking over at New Amsterdam and it's been a huge upgrade! I got the Blackened Gold Mac and it was so flavorful and delicious. It also reheated very well in the microwave!

INCREDIBLE FOOD TRUCK WITH AN INCREDIBLE MISSION. Just do yourself a favor and give it a try. The burgers were fantastic, I don't love pork belly and I could eat theirs all day, the curry poutine is innovative, and the fries were spot on. I tried their soup of the day, and it was confidently one of the most unique and delicious creations. Their stuff is next level and the staff are genuine people. Go support them, you won't regret it!!

Love the decor in the shop. There were many prepared food options in the fridge, as well as various cuts of meat/preparations of it. We got two sandwiches, the cheesesteak and the marbella. I dont think we ended up with the correct order because we didn't end up with a cheesesteak, but did not realize until we got home. I'm positive that if I went back to the shop they would've remedied the situation, but I didn't feel it was necessary! The sandwich we did end up with was good as well, unsure which one it was though. Very fair prices, and our dog was so happy we brought him home a bone as well! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything they have to offer.

The business practices whole-animal, nose-to-tail butchery that respects the animals. Even bones and fat are used. My husband and I shopped here one time. On a Saturday afternoon, we drove around the neighborhood for 30 minutes before we found a paid parking spot. Other customers were inside the store, but the employees in the store served us promptly and politely. We saw cuts of beef, pork, lamb, and poultry as well as sandwiches, soups, spices, maple syrup, etcetera. We did not see as many unique meats as larger butcher shops sell. Prices were OK. We bought beef skewers and cooked them at home. We thought that the quality of the meat could have been better, but we liked the juiciness and flavors.

Pittsburgh Sandwich Society runs a kitchen out of Strange Roots Experiential Ale which is a small locally-owned distillery. Once you enter, you'll scan a QR code to order online. Don't waste time like me waiting for a server lol. I ordered the In-An-Aht burger which features spring mix, their society sauce, American cheese and tomato. The burger was SO GOOD. All the ingredients had the perfect portions and came together beautifully. It was a perfect medium-well cook. The fries are hand cut and delicious. They don't open until 4, but you can place orders online hours before then. Picked up food around 4:20. By time we got home, the fish maintained its crispness. I was actually quite impressed with how well it was prepared. Nice and flaky but didn't fall apart. The bun it comes on is well proportion with the fish. The only thing I could've went without, was the macaroni salad topped on the fish. However, the food here never disappoints. I'll be back.

We found an adorable part of town to walk through and then we spotted Moonlit Burgers and decided to stop for lunch. They have limited table service in the sense that you place your order with the cashier when you walk in and they bring your food out to you a little bit later on. They even checked on us a few times while we ate. Very nice staff too! The restaurant is a good size with lots of tables for two and few bigger tables as well. They also have a separate bar if you want something other than soda with your burgers. I ordered the Moonlit Smashburger and the hubby ordered a chicken sandwich; we also ordered fries and a drink to share. The cup for the drink was super duper tiny though, and we weren't sure about refills so we just took shallow sips. Next time we'll make sure to get two drinks. The smashburger was so good!! Everything a smashburger should be. The moon sauce was tangy and complimented the meat so well. And those crispy edges!! The fries were nice and crisp too and the hubby thoroughly enjoyed his chicken sandwich. We left the restaurant satisfied and full!!
