It was good and off the beaten path! The fish and chicken were both good. The tartar sauce and ranch sauces I got were amazing. The chips (fries) were deliciously paired with the malt vinegar. Our kids liked the Mac and cheese.

Every meal from here is consistently outstanding! The fish is always fried fresh to perfection, delivering incredible taste every time. With so many delicious options, you really can't go wrong-everything is served hot, in generous portions, and packed with flavor. Their breakfast selections are just as satisfying. Don't skip on the donuts, they are a yummy treat any time of day! The service is warm and welcoming, and takeout runs smoothly. Plus, if you didn't know...this is a Leona's ice cream sandwich spot ;)

A couple of friends and I stopped by yesterday afternoon around 4pm. It's a hole in the wall place with one table with three chairs and window seating that also has three chairs so definitely not the type you normally eat in. We saw them do a bunch of takeout orders. Our food was very reasonable priced and exactly what we expected. My fish and chips was delightfully hot and crunchy. My friends also enjoyed their food. We asked for four glazed donuts to go. The staff was joking around with us and gave us eight donuts and didn't charge us for them which was very kind of them. I would definitely come back for takeout!

My first time trying some authentic British fish and chips. This place definitely far exceeded my expectations! Really good food, super reasonable prices, reasonably diverse menu (many different British classics), and they even have a donut place right nearby. I got to try their fish and chips with ranch as well as a ton of donuts from the shop (which I will review separately). The fish was perfect. Great portion and surprisingly not too greasy at all. Crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. Seasoned very well so it doesn't just taste like oil. Coating is perfect too. The chips were also great. Salted just the right amount, a fantastic portion, and great texture. The ranch was delicious as well, perfectly creamy and a fantastic dip for the fries. Really can't complain about much of anything, besides maybe the lack of utensils for takeout. All in all, a great spot that I would definitely recommend. The food tastes fresh and delicious, portions are great, and so are the prices.

It's Piper's Pub in takeout form. Aka it's fucking amazing Any of the boxes of boxty tot boxes you get you won't be disappointed in. Pick one and then you'll go back for another The fish and chips are the best you'll ever have and you can get it in a taco form. How can't you love that Everyone when working is always super helpful and funny whenever you're in there It's a little hole in the wall as compared to the main shop but if you just wanna grab pub food with a twist that's meant to be eaten on the go you go here

I stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner and ordered the chicken and chips and a Scotch Egg. Had I realized the serving size for the chicken in particular, I would not have ordered the Scotch Egg. You could easily split an order with a friend. I don't know that I would recommend it for re-heating. The chicken that I ate right away was super delicious, but once I let it cool down, it was just okay. The Scotch Egg was fine, but it came whole, rather than cut up, so it was a pile of egg, sausage, and fried covering when I cut into it, so be prepared for the mess. The place itself is set up for takeout service (though there are technically 4 seats at the window), so keep that in mind when you order. As such, there isn't really an atmosphere to it.

I really enjoyed The Pub Chip Shop's fish and chip basket. Ordered at the counter on a Friday during lunch and 10mins later the food was ready. The haddock was a nice choice in fish and held up to the crispy batter. The basket was more than enough to share with my husband. Got two green sprinkled donuts before they sold out. Everything was delicious!

Some coworkers and I ordered a large lunch order from The Pub Chip Shop recently. We placed the order online and then went to pick it up. Not only was everything in our order correct, the employees were so nice when we were picking up. We tipped and thanked them numerous times for accommodating such a large order. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries. It came with a sauce on the side, so I decided to try their house ranch. I also tried a piece of scotch egg (my first time trying one) and it was great too. Everyone really enjoyed the food. The space itself is small but functional. They also sell delicious doughnuts here too, so definitely check them out!

One of our new favorite places to eat! I've seen pictures and other reviews but finally decided to go and I'm glad we did. The workers were friendly and helpful. Food was made fresh, came out hot. Best donuts I've had. Can't wait to try more items off the menu and breakfast

Quick, food was great for the price point, friendly service, comfortable ambiance. I got the chicken pot pie and mac n cheese side to go online and it was ready to go in 15 minutes. I will definitely be ordering a pot pie again. Excellent pick!

It's been forever since I stopped in. We were in the Southside and decided to stop by for a donut. Unfortunately we should have planned to go earlier as they didn't have many options when we went. I would have loved to try something new but they had a few basic and then the peanut butter bomb, which I have had before. This is definitely more dessert material then breakfast. Super sweet and over the top. Maybe too sweet for me. On a previous visit I had a pumpkin one which was pretty incredible. They have a table right inside the door with a menu posted. The downside is you don't get the appeal of being able to see the donuts in the case. You order and they bring it up front for you to pay.

I don't want to long wind this one, so I won't. Just go. You will not regret it. The chips are crispy outside, creamy inside. The fish, was amazing, I didn't even use the tater sauce. The tots had brisket and this amazing cheese sauce, GET THE TOTS!!! I enjoyed the scotch egg, thanks Andrew Zimmern. Now, they sell donuts. They were sold out. I shall go back for breakfast, yes they have breakfast, and I will get a donut. I want to compare to federal donuts. The staff and I made jokes about it. They are wonderful people!!!

Almost as good as the fish n chips in Dublin and Belfast. Employees are attentive, excited, and kind 100/10. Nuff said.

Large portion: Two of us could have split it and still walked away full. Battered. This one is cooked perfectly. The sandwich sandwich roll is crippled and lovely. The tartar sauce is subtle and dead-on. This is exactly what I want from a fish sandwich. - The french fries that came with the fish and chips are nicely cooked, medium cut. Crispy potatoey and perfect. These are crowdpleasers - everyone at our table liked them. Could possibly be worth a trip in and of themselves.

Notes of spice, wood, nuts, and slight fruit. The taste was great, but just smelling it was pretty intense. The salmon dish was great. The ginger carrot mash was seasoned and puréed enough that it didn't taste like eating just carrots. They cooked the salmon too perfectly to my liking. The service was excellent too - laid back, friendly but they didn't play either about getting your order on time. Solid bar/restaurant, 8.5 / 10.

I wanted to place a carryout order. I first tried online but there was a glitch somewhere in the system. I called instead. When the phone was answered, the background noise was intense. It was so loud that the employee couldn't hear me. At that point I decided to just go in and order. When I walked into Urban Tap, the noise was almost deafening. Music blaring, voices raised to be heard. No one was using their "inside voices", they couldn't. I sat at the bar to order. I never got waited on. I finally caught the attention of one of the bartenders and was ready to place an order. We leaned towards each other, yelling to try to be heard. I couldn't hear her when she read back my order. I really wasn't sure what I'd be getting. Unfortunately, I did get what I ordered - brunch breads and an order of biscuits. It took quite a while to get food - no surprise there. I checked our food when I got it. Oh Lordy, those biscuits looked good. This southern girl appreciates a good biscuit and did these look good. I got the food to the car and we headed out on the next leg of our adventure. About an hour later, I just had to grab one of those golden, flaky discs. Butter? Jam? Nah, the biscuits looked like they could solo on their own. I took one bite and my eyes flew open - not from the deliciousness, it was because of the sheer amount of salt. That can't be right so I took another small bite. I tried a teeny bite of the next biscuit. Salt. The biscuits were inedible. No, I don't mean that I didn't like the flavor. They contained so much salt that there was no way someone could eat these. That's ok, there was the banana bread French toast. It looked a little dark in color but it never crossed my mind that this might not be normal. I took a bite. It tasted odd, off, something wasn't right. My husband pegged it - it was burned. Before grilling or after? No idea. There were also a couple of donut holes. Not even worthy of a second bite. I also ordered fruit. It was good but still not enough to save the meal from dismal failure. We won't be back .

The pickled items are all done in house, and menu/kitchen are very thoughtful on how they execute. They do the pickling well, and they incorporate their ingredients into the dishes without making them feel unbalanced. Some specifics: Chicken fried pickles: Great ratio of batter to pickle. Generally, I think execution of pickled spears versus chips is fraught with peril. ButterJoint does these perfectly. These remain excellent and an unequivocal "get again" dish. Crispy chicken sandwich: chicken thighs done in one of the House brines, then battered and fried. This is a generous sandwich with two thighs. The batter is light and perfect and perfectly adherent. Kitchen cooked these pieces perfectly; no overdone portions. The tallow fries served as a side remain excellent, and the serving is very generous. "You can't eat just one." Pork belly sandwich: what a completely fun bite! Generous serving of pork belly, crispy on the outside and melting internally on a perfectly toasted roll. The condiments on this sandwich are perfect. The brunch burger is excellent. The egg is hard cooked so it doesn't come apart on the sandwich. M got the corned beef hash; the brisket on it is absolutely amazing, and there is a very nice grill on the potatoes. The poached egg on top is a complete delight. This is one of the better hashes that I have had. The falafel is fantastic. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked. The goat cheese crust with hot pepper jelly is an unexpected treat. Pickle shrimp are fun. The Mississippi comeback sauce is basically a remolade or maybe big Mac sauce. Would totally have again looking for a little cold shrimpy bite. We have never walked away disappointed by the menu or the kitchen. Good bar program, good draught list. Consistently gracious front of house team. Great for lunch or dinner, couples or families. Highly recommended.

The vinegar pie sounded super unique and intriguing so I gave that a shot. So glad I did! This is delicious. I can't even really describe it; there's a tiny note of acidity to it, but it's also super sweet. A nice little brown topping as well. It's just really good and you should try it.
