Dropping a review for multiple stops at DAT's in Nazareth wrapped up in one. First stop I had the "Over the Top" hot dog and the second stop I had an ice cream sundae flight. The spot is very cool, 50's feel to it, LP's hanging around, a jukebox, etc. Everyone I spoke with both visits were very friendly and helpful as well. The Over the Top dog is a big ol hot dog with a grilled cheese for a bun topped with bacon, tomatoes, and diced onion. The dog was good quality and how could it possibly be bad with a grilled cheese attached?! This one just made too much sense to try out! I'd definitely get it again. The sundae flight was really awesome. You choose 4 ice creams, and 4 toppings and they'll all come with whipped cream. They have quite a few different home made flavors to choose from and many toppings. I believe this was in the ballpark of $12 and I'd pay it again any day of the week. DAT's ... simply ... My son recently took me here for lunch and i was surprised by a) just how nice it was and b) that id never stopped in before despite driving by many times. That said i was skeptical. So decided to bring my wife and confirm if this place was actually, all that. Suffice it to say, it is. For starters the place is immaculate. Tables, floors, inside/outside no mater. This place is refreshingly clean, neat and organized. The wait staff on both visits have been friendly and attentive, offering up advice and options for most every dietary desire. I had a burger and fries the first visit and this time had the honey chicken wrap special. Both were delicious! and good sized portions. I also enjoyed their own branded sodas. Haven't tried their deserts yet but plan to do so soon. For now though, i rate this the best lunch restaurant I've been to in the Nazareth, Easton, Wind Gap, Bangor area in a long long time. Stop by on the chance that this place may be great. I always love 50s locations and had high hopes after looking for a lunch spot. After walking in......you could hear 50s music. So far so good.....although the music was louder than it needed to be. I ordered a California cheesesteak and a chocolate milkshake. The menu made everything look good. The milkshake arrive first and was fairly decent but the food........I guess In keeping with the 50s theme came out 50 minutes later. Ugh. Not sure why the delay as they were not that busy. Anyways after receiving the cheesesteak it wasn't that great. Bread was stale and the cheese had not even melted. The tater tot's which came with the cheesesteak was the best part of lunch. First off I'm not saying the food is bad, it's not. I have eaten there multiple times with no complaints. But that said I went there tonight for some ice cream. BIG mistake ! The soft serve portion was very small and it's not as creamy as Petey's Eatey's . Now I understand why there is always a line at Petey's. At Petey's you get about a pint for a small . At Dat's you get a half of a scoop. But I did save $0.25 , I guess you get what you pay for. With the high cost of EVERYTHING today , people want their monies worth. read more

So glad we stopped at DAT's this afternoon! What a gem, set back from Sullivan Trail in what was once a bank. The unassuming exterior opens to an explosion of 50's thematic color, light and joy! No brooding dark corners here. We were thrilled to learn that the baked goods, ice cream, Italian ice, and even soda are made by the owners. We shared a bacon cheeseburger on a seeded brioche roll. It was done exactly as we requested, and each element was distinctly delicious. The house made chips were super crispy, not greasy, and not drenched in salt. Next we had the ice cream flight, perfect size for two ice cream fiends. Choose your flavors, AND, choose a topping for each, AND whipped cream and cherry on each. Nice! We took home a piece of crumb cake with a thin layer of raspberry filling. Also delicious and PLENTY of tasty crumb topping. Our waitress was attentive, pleasant, smiling, knowledgeable and efficient. Couldn't ask for more! We had a chance to speak with the owner, and were impressed with his passion for quality food and how he created the ambience of DAT's. This is a family business who also cares about community. This evening we decided to get DATS after a long while due to a poor experience. Last time we were here my girlfriend ordered a grilled chicken wrap and they forgot the chicken in the wrap. We waited at least 30 minutes for someone to come over and ask how everything was. Spent way longer waiting than eating. Not to mention previous other times waiting HOURS. We were driving up to vacation in the Poconos and checked out Yelp to stop for lunch. Saw good ratings for DATS but only a few votes. The few votes were very accurate! Had a 50'stheme- home made cakes and ice cream. Great service from Natalie with outdoor seating for the 6 of us. We tried a bunch of their sandwiches too- grilled tomato/cheese and bacon, chicken cordon bleu, chicken wrap, etc. all were tasty, cooked just right and plentiful. Root beer floats were delicious. DAT's is a super cute 1950's theme restaurant. Small town, family owned restaurant. Happy to have it near Stockertown were there aren't a ton of options. Burgers and ice cream are delicious. So far I've dined in and had takeout. Both were good. I'll be back to try more. read more

This review is based solely on the overall operation. Our retirement group have been going to different establishments for over a year. DATS was next on our list. We had a group of ten. We were not able to go in until all of our party was present. We had no problem with that, but there was only one other customer in the room. Then we come in and the young ladies said we can't seat you because we can't move the table together because there for handicap individuals. So we had no choice but to go to another establishment for our lunch. I agree with others that gave a review about young persons running the day to day operation. If it was me I would have found some way to accommodate 10 people/customers. So, I'm sorry that I can't review the food, but it they continue to lose groups like this and don't even try for a solution it will and did impact their business for the day. I'm not sure if they will get another chance. I wish them the best and hope they work out their issues...Thank you read more
