The order taker and cashier, Johanna, played her position well: she's fast, multitasking and funny! (And even shimmied for the long line of patient customers!)(You had to be there in the midst of it!) Girl, you're a ROCKSTAR! Anyhow, one Carnivore Kid sandwich that included pork roll, sausage Patty, a fried egg and toppings specific to that sandwich on an everything bagel. Real treat and truly satisfying at $8. I enjoyed my pork roll, fried egg and pepper Jack on the jalapeño and cheddar sandwich for $6. Made to order on a toasted bagel. Yummy! Stopped here on our way up to Cooperstown, New York based on previous Yelp reviews. (We got lucky because this was their last day open before a one-week vacation.) Ordered the "Just Keep Swimming" and "The Postman." Very yummy! Order and pay at counter for either takeout or to be served. Very informal, about six booths which turned over quickly so easy to get a seat. Women's room could have been a bit cleaner but the place was very busy so they get a pass on that since everything else was very clean. Definitely worth going out of our way about five miles to get a delicious breakfast and good coffee. read more

Grew up in the area and still drive 20+ minutes on some weekends because the bagels are good but the last two times I went (both Saturdays) they were closed, with no notice online either time. Super frustrating to drive all that way just to find the place closed. If you're going to be closed, at least update your hours. read more

Their bagels are delicious. HOWEVER, I always have always chosen to have my bagels toasted DARK. There is absolutely no difference in how the bagel is toasted. It's basically dough colored, not crispy, no color, and not what I want. We no longer will be ordering anything prepared there and will instead get an order of bagels to bring home so we can toast them properly not exactly sure why this is such a difficult concept. It's been a while since I've written a review but here I go again. I love this place. It's become a regular spot in my weekly routine. The bagels are delicious. The people who own the place and their workers are friendly and hard working. There's free WiFi and just enough tables for me to always find one open and do a bit of studying. I can only really find 2 flaws with this place. One is that they don't make lattes or any type of coffee other then in a pot or the powdered stuff you get from a machine. The other thing is it sometimes takes up to 20 min to get your order. So it's best to order ahead if you are in a rush. What a great bagel and amazing signature sandwiches!! Happen to be passing by and and gave this place a shot. I got the special Jo Fadda sandwich (a little different from the Jo mama) and wow! Let me proceed by saying this is the second time I've been to this location. I was very impressed with the friendliness and atmosphere the first time. So I returned. Today I'm in complete disgust. As I sat there waiting for my bagels I watched MULTIPLE employees eating and drinking behind the counter and not washing their hands! Disgusting. Yes many were wearing blue gloves but not everyone. I tried to ignore it but I looked around and the floor was covered in crumbs and the tables not wiped down. I would've felt a little better about the employees grazing on food if the store was in a clean condition. I don't think I'll be taking the time to return anytime soon. read more
