Coplay Eatery is a diner located on Chestnut St. in Coplay. They are open every day from 6AM - 9PM. I stopped in for the first time last Thursday afternoon. The food was good, service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I ordered a bowl of chicken rice soup and the Coplay wrap with fries. The soup was hot, hearty, and healthy. The wrap was fresh, filling, and flavorful. It's made with carnitas, chorizo, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and pepper jack cheese. Pickup is available, but there is no delivery. We are not locals but this was our second visit and definitely not our last! My husband and I both had breakfast specials( til 11). I had the Eggs Benedict over Scrapple. Hands down best breakfast I ever had. Came with home fries potatoes. Perfect flavor and preparation. Both specials include coffee. Husband had over easy eggs, home fries and toast with coffee. Perfectly prepared. They have great service with long term employees. They have just the right amount of attentiveness. It is very clean and comfortable with many booths and tables. Every single time we come here their food gets better and better I swear! Everything is good that I tried and the breakfast the pork roll sandwich and the creamed chip beef are amazing! I think they have the best French onion soup around and everyone's always so nice service 100% the only downside is the parking is terrible and it's very tight inside because it's already small and when u try to navigate the other rooms it's sometimes tight when people are sitting at tables and their chairs are almost back to back makes it hard to get thru at times understand though they are always so full because it's so good lol read more

I've been away so I wasn't able to post on this. A few weeks ago, my wife and I came in for dinner. We've been coming in and really enjoy the food and the gentleman working the front of the house. On this particular night, the gentleman wasn't there. We were seated. We waited for a server. Another couple came in. Immediate service. Finally have our server, ordered a water and Diet Pepsi. And we also ordered our dinners. Couple seated after us were already digging into soup/salads and app before we even received drinks. When we received our drinks, the couple received their dinners. Meanwhile, we still waited. No updates. So we got up and went to the person at the front and explained the issues. And for all of the trouble, we were still charged for the soda. I don't care about the price of the drink, it's the principle. She didn't seem to care too much. So I don't care so much about exercising restraint in this review. My wife feels that we were profiled because she's Asian. And before anybody jumps down my throat, it happens a lot! Very disappointing, because as I said earlier, we really like the food. But, we will continue to explore and find a place that doesn't just cater to locals that the staff knows. read more

This was a pleasant surprise. We're two vegans dropping in at a very meaty small-town American-cuisine restaurant to use the restroom and get water on a walk where my friend had an emergency need for both, and wanted to get something so we weren't just coming in to use the restroom... As my friend used the restroom, I ogled the menu of things we don't eat... but they had a veggie burger (Dr Praeger style?), and the server brought us a photo of the ingredients from the kitchen; vegan, yay! Fries are cooked in clear soybean oil. Fine! The burger was loaded with very fresh and chunky slices of avocado, tomato, and red onion. The sweet potato fries were tasty. From worry to WIN! Yay! Dined there a few days ago with three others. Only speaking for myself, I thought my Manicotti Parm was very good. I also ordered a cup of chili and I have to say, I put their chili in the top 3 in the area, alongside The Brass Rail (when it was on Lehigh St,. The Log Cabin (was previously in Coplay), and The East Penn Diner. The only negative I find at The Coplay Eatery is that there is a service charge if you pay by credit card. The draw of a business is the convenience of equal payment methods, not penalizing one method of payment over the other. These kind of establishments, then, are not my first go-to choice. read more

Pumpkin pancakes were good, but not served hot enough. They need to do better job serving soup and chili while still hot. Homemade chili had good flavor, brother liked onion soup. We both enjoyed Atlantic Salad on first visit. Coffee was too strong, which I didn't care for. Grilled marinated chicken breast with steamed broccoli and rice was pretty good on second visit. Veg beef barley soup came with meal and was pretty good. Side salad with iceberg lettuce was not as fresh at dinner time. Didn't care for cream of broccoli or navy bean with ham soup selections during third visit, so I didn't have soup with dinner. Cole slaw was too sweet. Strawberry shortcake didn't have much flavor and was dry, but adding strawberry glaze to it made it a Strawberry Shortcake. Strawberry glaze sold separately. read more

We love our PA diners-- extensive menu, coffee that pours easily, and friendly service. You can get the usual breakfast offerings, melts, paninis, pitas, wraps, burgers, salad.. it goes on. Father's day had several parties on the waiting list for brunch time, so it was about a 25 minute wait after putting our name down. First time diner. Absolutely will be back. Cute little place,clean, fast service, affordable. Husband got a seafood dish that he really enjoyed. I ordered potato skins and gyro. Skins were awesome (and HUGE) Gyro was pretty good, my only things were meat to toppings ratio was a bit off not quite enough meat, overloaded with the lettuce / tomato /onion toppings and very little sauce. Also and this is purely personal preference onions were cut waaaay to big. But I would order again w some modifications meat was very tasty once I got to it. It was starting to get busy as we were finishing up so ordered dessert to go. Chocolate mousse cake sooo very good! I would stop in just for a slice of that! Really wanna go back for breakfast. Just a quick thought, the menu is huge I wonder if its a bit too much, they could definitely cut down and still have a great menu! read more

First time customer: Breakfast Will definitely be back again! Due to new health parameters I chose the Healthy Platter 1 and my husband had the Crab Benedict. First, everything in the Healthy Platter was fresh, firm and delicious and a beautiful presentation. My husband's Crab Benedict was beyond perfect. He said it was the best he's ever had. It's a surprise that this restaurant is busy all day. There is a lot to choose from on the menu so it's a sign that the food is not fresh; they have a few good items on the menu but most of it is bland and tasteless. Their customers are mainly elders. read more

Overall, our visit here was quite good. The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is just minor mistakes and growing pains they're experiencing as they launch. Service staff is still adjusting. I was in town visiting family and we stopped here for breakfast. I wish I didn't live so far away because this place would be my weekly breakfast stop. The menu has something for everyone.
