This was a great lunch find on our road trip to Boston. Found on Yelp and our GPS got us here. Don't let the fact that it's in an office building deter you. Great sports memorabilia atmosphere: simple, basic, everything you need. And they have board games if you want to sit a while. Food is super fresh, soups made daily. This little place can be hard to find. It is in the first floor of a big office building. There is a sandwich banner outside. Once your in, it is a nice place with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is mostly prepared to order. There are some deli style sides that are prepared ahead. Even they are fresh and good. Loved the chili. Mike catered our Office thanksgiving lunch for 2 days for 2 shifts. He goes above and beyond to accommodate our needs. I have to say the food was absolutely amazing. The turkey was very moist and tender, gravy was spot on. Mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. Green beans and stuffing was delicious. My first visit here thanks to seeing the Yelp reviews. The location is hidden (see pic attached). It is inside of a corporate building, but there is a 'sandwiches' wind sign near the correct parking lot/entrance. I was promptly greeted when entering. No wait (I was there around 1:30 on a Monday). I ordered a half roasted turkey sandwich and soup. The roasted turkey was fab! Not deli sliced - think actual roasted turkey. Made to order in front of you. The soup was tasteful (chicken noodle). The gentleman checking me out was a bit chatty with the previous customer about his (knee?) surgery, but that is my only complaint. I was a 'to-go' order and was trying to be quick. Thank you to the top reviewers of OSS. What a gem! I went before the lunch crowd and was able to get a spot in the visitor's parking area. The location inside isn't well marked but you will know when you get there that you have arrived! When I order most anything, my choices are almost always based on the type of cheese that is available and how they are paired. I got a 1/2 roast beef sandwich with cheddar on wheat. Cheddar isn't the most unique cheese of course, but it pairs so well with roast beef. They put a little bit of horseradish mayo and mustard on it- very nice! I also ordered a small crack cheese, which I highly recommend, and a soft drink. It was a perfect sized lunch and the to-go service at the register was friendly and helpful. The staff were loading up a big catering order, which they probably do every day for lucky office workers in Allentown! OSS is worth the visit if you are up to the adventure of finding it! It isn't like geocaching or anything so don't let its location deter you from going! read more

I won't be going back. Let's review the sandwich first: I had the Badass BLT. I guess I was expecting something really...badass, but was underwhelmed. Toasted bread, A LOT of shredded lettuce, two tomato slices, one small piece of ham, and very limp bacon. And almost no mayo - the guy making the sandwich almost forgot it. Now let's talk about the service. Owner/manager (?) yells "ONE BAD ASS" - and I'm the ONLY patron there. And I wait...at least five minutes for someone to make this sandwich. Was it because they were heating up the ham and bacon in the microwave? I don't think so. Now...the kid who I thought was going to make the sandwich, who was dressed for the part of working behind the counter, didn't. Nope - it was some other random kid working on some project or other in the dining room area. And that's ok BUT.... 1. He didn't wash his hands 2. He used A GLOVE on his left hand, which was fine BUT 3. He handled all the food with his unwashed, un-gloved RIGHT hand 4. Then, proceeded to use the cash register with his dirty right hand to ring me out I'm not sure if he is new to working in the food business but GLOVE UP BOTH HANDS! At that point, I should have refused the sandwich and walked out but that's on me. I paid the exorbitant price of $8 (and again, this was two pieces of toast, etc. and nothing to write home about) and left. Didn't eat the sandwich because it grossed me out that there was such a lack of hygiene. I will definitely not be returning. read more

The first thing I noticed was the odd setting. The place is set in a business complex, which is the last thing I think of for a sandwich shop. However, I was not disappointed one bit! Everything is made fresh in-house, and the sandwiches are hefty. I got the Mother Clucker and the fried chicken was just-right crispy without over powering the bacon and sauce. Speaking with the owner, Mike, you know right away he's an old-school, hard working guy who cares about his brand. Both he and his staff seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do, and it reflects in the sandwiches! I was looking for lunch options in Allentown and the other Yelp reviews steered me to this place. Unique specials & the Portuguese roll really makes the sandwich! Portuguese rolls are a bit lighter in texture than Italian bread, a little shorter and wider than a normal hoagie roll, with a light, crisp crust. They have other bread options - not everything comes on a Portuguese roll. The boardwalk-style fries are terrific! You stand in line to order and pay and then an employee brings your order to your table. Power 99 FM (Classic Rock) plays throughout the low-key dining room. I have no idea why someone would go to the Wendy's next door... Well, Wendy's would be cheaper, but certainly not as good. ;) read more

Do not be fooled about the location. It is in a business district, inside of a professional building. Just circle the building until you find it, because it's worth it! At first we though either the address was wrong or our map app was off, but after circling the building (7450 Windsor Dr.), we found the entrance. This is an excellent sandwich shop, the music is fantastic, and the staff is super friendly. Walking in, the décor possessed a certain ambivalence to any given theme; one wall bedecked in 80's album covers, on another sports jerseys, yet another with vintage kitchen equipment. Try the old school sliced roast beef or pork smothered in a sharp provolone, spinach then dunked in a side of au jus. Another simple twist on jersey fries will entice your taste buds as well. I don't eat here often, but take my Daughter here in half days at school. It's a great treat, and I'm happy they are in Fogelsville (much closer) than their old Tilghman Square location. Staff is always friendly and hard working. I always have asked for and gotten the Big Daddy made-was on the old menu, and not on the current menu. I LOVE that sandwich!! I've been here now several times. This place is just the best little sandwich shop around. Well worth trying and repeating.

After a couple trips... I've had their Prime Rib cheesesteak.. a special based on the advice of a coworker. I was warned it's a $12 cheesesteak... having some cash burning a hole and hungry for lunch I purchased on. it was much different texture than most cheesesteaks I've had (I've had them in about 14 different states.. and HUNDREDS of places) so while not a classic texture, was REALLY BEEFY and delicious. While most cheesesteaks can be wolfed down this one made you savor the taste and texture. The Chicken Caesar was delicious while most local places charge more, the chicken is fresh cooked and great flavor. The dressing is on point and the lettuce was crisp. The Southwest Spinach Salad was the same size as the caesar but MUCH MORE DENSE due to the use of spinach and carved turkey they fit a MOUNTAIN of food in the container and it took a while to get through it all. The dressing is great and the salad is fresh and really filling The service is very personable and the staff is organized. (i.e. an order comes in, gets called to the kitchen and the kitchen responds). Really top quality performance... doesn't look like a bunch of people throwing together food. A REAL kitchen staff. Chef Mike has a great handle on his kitchen. This shows in the lack of frantic scurrying and the methodical completion of orders. While not something that you eat... ensures that the food comes out consistent, high quality EVERY SINGLE TIME. My largest criticism is the brief descriptions on some of the menu items. I'm sure I could get additional details from any of the staff, just seemed light. This is honest food that you might not finish but take home and enjoy the rest later. It's busy as everything during the lunch rush so please keep that in mind. Went looking for a good sandwich place and this place came up with 4 and half star review from 25 reviews. The put a lot of effort into their sandwiches and are pretty friendly here. I ordered the Gume By Ya which had turkey, salami, sharp, spinach, and some other ingredients. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! The establishment was not a storefront, instead it was located in on the bottom floor of a building with other business office, it reminded me of a college cafeteria setup thank good for GPS. I had the roasted turkey on a wrap and tomato basil sou... the turkey did not have the roasted taste and the soup was oily. I was out in the area on business and wanted to find a good local deli. I hopped on yelp this was one of the highest rated in the area. Tucked away in an office building is this little cafeteria looking spot. The staff was super friendly and I was the only one there so my sandwich was made quickly. I grabbed a turkey and cheddar and something to drink. To my surprise the total came to $15 for a bottle of soda and the sandwich. For that much I can go to my local deli and get a 7" hero packed and an order of fries. The sandwich wasn't bad, but for $15 I would have expected more. read more

Mom and Pop type Deli in a industrial park. Was a little hard to initially find the place. However, the food was awesome. Sandwiches were stuffed full of lunch meat. Made exactly the way you want. Got a couple little sides, all full of taste. Would eat here again and again if it was a little closer to home. If I am in the area, would be a mandatory stop each time.
