Patty Melt Sausage Egg and Cheese
    Pete C.

Art Cafe is like eating in someone's home who loves to create innovative and delicious dishes. Read the reviews and walked in when they opened at 7am. The chef/server...one person for the first hour and she was spectacular! I had the patty melt (egg, cheese and sausage on toasted rye) and my wife had the French toast. Both were outstanding. Leisurely breakfast, where we enjoyed the food and conversation over 45-50 minutes. Don't expect a fast-food experience. Breakfast as it's meant to be to enjoy a relaxing and tasty meal. It's a place where locals go and know each other. We live 10 minutes away and have been sampling breakfast places across the Lehigh Valley since moving here. This place is the best so far!

Found a hidden gem of a restaurant. Stopped here for breakfast. The waitress was wonderful and food was cooked to order by just one woman. The food was very good and worth the wait!! I ordered their version of the eggs Benedict and my husband got a French omelette. If I ordered this again I probably would skip the tomato. My husband enjoyed his omelette and Rye toast. We're looking forward to coming back and trying other items!!

Highly recommend this place, they cook the food right in front of you. The omelettes were nice and light and they potato's were amazing.

In the area for business staying at a hotel that didn't offer breakfast so needed to find a place to grab something. This was the perfect spot. The service was fast & friendly; the food and coffee were excellent! A few other diners but not busy. Would definitely stop back.

My husband took me here for our anniversary and my birthday. It's become my top favorite spot for breakfast and desserts in the Lehigh Valley. The small space gives it a cozy-family oriented feel. The server and cook are amazing! The food is ALWAYS cooked to perfection! I could live here if it was allowed

3 times and 3 hits entirely out of the park…read more On our recent visit we were seated at some what of a community table which initially we weren't thrilled about but how they have it set up it truly feels like you're alone at the table, it helped that the other couple was a delight. We ordered the Caesar salad (phenomenal) The steak tartare, just divine perfection The waitress heard me talking about the sweat breads from the chicken dish (that I wasn't ordering, I'll explain shortly) and said the chef could do them as a side dish, DELICIOUS!!! My husband got the world's largest most delicious pork chop. Now, my meal. I ordered the halibut and recognized that perhaps it wasn't for me, but I ordered it it was my choice I wasn't going to send it back. Our waitress took note that I wasn't eating and told me that simply would not do and hustled to the kitchen to come out with the chicken dish, I was so appreciative of her noticing and accommodating this, truly, amazing service and that chicken was succulent beyond words! We also got 3 of the desserts, the seasonal eggnog bread pudding, the cinnamon raisin bread pudding which was insanely delicious as I personally am not a huge bread pudding fan but if every bread pudding was this? That would be my go to! And of course the butterscotch pudding which better never leave the menu because it is lick your plate delicious!!! I also enjoyed a hot cocktail which on a cold night was heavenly. Bolete is such an incredible culinary journey that we specifically go there from our home state because we know it will always be inviting, delicious and warm with heart and soul from the chef and staff.

I…read morescoured online looking for something special and unique in the Allentown and Bolete was an immediate 'yes'. Their farm-to-table approach means a rotating menu and selection of curated ingredients that make up stunning dishes. From appetizer to dessert (which sadly we didnt have room for) the menu is thoughtful and intentional. Starting with cocktails - the famous Sleigh Bells Ring (featured on the cover of Edible Magazine) was perfection. Not too sweet, warming and tart with the mescal and boozy cranberry sauce- and incredible concoction. The Dark Love Story was equally seductive with a vodka base and aperitif blend with red wine reduction. The thought they put into their menu doesnt just stop at food! We were torn between starters but the Tartare was our pick and an excellent one. The egg was golden, the capers crisp, and the truffle aoili was never overpowering. The housemade crisp chips were a welcome change from the often offered toast bites while still being an elevated dish. The potato crsted cod was served beautifully with a lobster broth poured table-aide and was accompanied by fresh clams, shrimp, and mussels- honestly not a critique to be found. The grilled Chipotle flank steak was cooked to perfection and the hen of the woods mushroom was a showstopper. All in all I struggled to not make a reservation for every night I was in town because it is a must to go back. The decor and staff arw welcoming and as thoughtful as the meals served with mushrooms present all throughout complimenting the Bolete name. 10/10 all around.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

We were seated right away in an open format atmosphere with the best balance of light and dark. The bar across from us looked fantastic. What we noticed right from the start is how well the staff works with and for each other to bring guests the best dining experience possible. Maddie was our server. She was kind, professional, patient, and knowledgable about both food and drink on a grand scale. Her recommendations were stellar. I had a refreshing gin and basil martini as well as their beef carpaccio, which was absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend started with their beef stew, which was thick and satisfying. It was so delicious, she almost canceled her entree to have more. She went with the home cooking route and indulged in their meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes. Although she loved that as well, half had to come home with her, which made for an excellent lunch the next day. I went with the raw of it all and got their spectacular tuna tartare with asparagus, radish, and rice. Usually, the tuna is cut into strips but this tremendous block of gorgeous fish knocked me out. Absolutely fantastic from presentation to flavor. For dessert, we got their brownie with ice cream and this was all upper level in taste and texture. I would be shocked if their ice cream hadn't been made in-house. We loved our first experience with Apollo and we look forward to our next visit, which is hopefully sooner than later.

But I'm glad that I ate Waffle House at what I perceive to be the right time: after 10PM. Having never ordered here, I have seen some YouTube videos on some epic meals. I decided for a Jalapeno Cheesesteak Hashbrown Bowl with sausage gravy, and since I am at the House of Waffle --- a half regular/half chocolate chip waffle as well. Nadia couldn't have been any nicer! I told her it was my first time, and she was so gracious and kind. A few hiccups but she corrected her course quickly. Quick shoutout to Eli the hashbrown jedi. I was sitting in a booth and in about 6-7 minutes, he made at least 8-10 rounds of crispy golden mounds for everyone in the establishment, and each hashbrown looked just as good as the previous. He's a pro. I recall visiting some Waffle Houses in Lancaster and even Ohio, and I didn't like the ambiance; however, this one is clean! At least at 10PM on a Thursday it was clean and staffed with excellent workers. My food was so delicious. That hashbrown bowl came with two servings of potatoes, eggs scrambled perfectly, and that thick sausage gravy to make everything into one delicious bite. I wanted a spicy kick --- and they topped it off with grill jalapenos? What magic is this?? Oh, now onto the waffle --- not too thick and not too thin. Perfect consistency. Typically a purist, but I appreciated the half chocolate chip experiment. 5/5. 10/10. I'm so glad Nadia, Eli, and Waffle House - Bethlehem was my first impression of this business. Will repeat!

Unfortunately, I forgot to write my servers name down, but she was very friendly, very helpful, and she checked in on me periodically. Waffle House is famously open 24/7. And in fact, FEMA uses what they call a "waffle House scale Green (Open, Full Menu): Minimal to no structural damage. The area has power and the community's infrastructure is largely intact.... Yellow (Open, Limited Menu): Moderate infrastructure disruptions. The restaurant is operating on backup generator power or has low food supplies.... Red (Closed): Severe damage. This indicates catastrophic conditions, massive power outages, unsafe roads, or structural damage to the restaurant itself The restaurant has a nice "diner vibe" on the inside. Are you gonna be getting Michelin star cuisine ? Of course not. Are you gonna be getting delicious, good old-fashioned stick to your ribs American food? You're darn right..... They have a decent sized menu, but I decided to go with the basics. A "firework waffle, two eggs, and hashbrowns. The great thing about the hashbrowns, is you can add to them, with an absolutely amazing number of combinations. I had mine smothered. (with sautéed onion.), covered (with cheese,) diced (with tomatoes", and. Capped , (with mushroom.). These are not your normal restaurant hashbrowns they use high-quality dehydrated, hashbrowns, which rehydrated on site. The cheese was American cheese, which was perfect for the hash brown and the onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms provided a nice "pop" of flavor, to counteract the richness of the cheese As it says in their name, their specialty is the waffle. It was crispy. Flavorful, and rich. instead of milk, they use half-and-half, and they have a special proprietary waffle mix, that is made for waffle House, and waffle House only. I could definitely taste the quality of the waffle. The "firework candy", on top was fun, and the sweetness did not overtake the waffle. they played very well with each other. There was also a small dollop of whipped cream on the top Their coffee is great, and my eggs were absolutely perfect. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they also offer a military/veterans discount. I wish they were in California. The fact that they are not makes it such a treat. The next time I find one, I will be there. Thank you.
