My friend arrived shortly after, and we waited about 15-20 minutes with no menus or server. Not ideal, but manageable. We were catching up. When our waitress did come over, she was great. Super friendly, attentive, and the only reason this experience wasn't a complete loss. Food came out quickly, and overall we were there for about an hour, which is completely reasonable for brunch. Then the hostess made sure to leave a lasting impression. The second our plates were cleared, she reappeared, dropped the check on the table with a sharp "here," and walked away. No check-in, no "how was everything," no offer for another coffee; just a not-so-subtle message that our time was up. We left it there and continued talking while finishing our drinks. A few minutes later, she came back and said, "ladies, I really need this table.. you need to leave, I have a huge wait." There's efficient table management, and then there's whatever that was.
