Have been hearing about this place for awhile, finally had a chance to try them out and it was worth it. I ordered the mana jr, alpha fries and the aloha jays punch. The burger was awesome wish I woulda got the mana burger(2 patties vs the jrs 1)they use the same donut base so it was fluffy. Shoestring fries were good wished I got more but $2 for a small is very reasonable. Also got a few donuts, strawberry creme was my kids fav. Made a special trip up here to try them out n will be a repeat customer for sure! Staff was great, small coffee shop with big personality and great flavors.

I'm down for ube anything but unfortunately, their ube malasadas were out of rotation when I FINALLY made my way to Aloha Jay's. Instead, they had matcha which is always a close second favorite flavor so I got that. That, and the chocolate covered banana cream pie. The latter was not the neatest to eat but it was DELICIOUS!! I mean D E L I C I O U S! The banana didn't taste fake and the chocolate was not overbearingly sweet. So good! The matcha, however, was a HUGE disappointment. Like I said, I love matcha but this was awful! It didn't taste grassy or earthy at all. Instead, it had a fishy flavor to it. I couldn't understand it. It was NOT good. Overall, the donuts themselves were GREAT! Warm, with a nice chew, and a good size for the price. I think next time, I'm gonna get them NOT filled with another chocolate covered banana cream pie malasada to go with it. The place is cute and bright and feels islandy in the middle of Hellertown. There is no indoor seating but they have some seat out front. No bathrooms to wash your hands of the stickiness so bring wipes. Customer service was great with the Auntie helping everyone out up front. The cashier, God bless her for hustling the snaked around line AND drinks at the same time!

On a snowy day this Wednesday, we stopped for a quick breakfast sandwich and a filled donut. Mackenzie took our order and a few minutes later, a stuffed sandwich full of scrambled eggs, bacon bits atop a hash brown pattie. $5.85. Quite satisfying. And a filled sugar coated malasada to enjoy with coffee later. The donut was light, fresh and hot $2.59 each

Kit Kat, salty sweet and tangy, cream and chocolate sprinkles

My wife and I tried this place today for the first time. Wow! The donut itself was amazing. This is a place where I would perfectly happy ordering a plain donut. I ordered a donut filled with chocolate that tasted like a melted Hersey bar. On top was crushed up Kit Kat pieces and caramel. It was phenomenal! My wife got a sweet, salty, tangy one. I don't know what it was coated in, but it was tasty. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich. The donut was cut open, stuffed with eggs, cheese, and some sort of sauce. It was wonderful. So good in fact, after one bite, my wife ordered one for herself. I will be returning here again!

Sugar coated, Bavarian cream filled, and mango filled

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and greeted immediately by a very nice lady who gave me a lei. I ordered 3 plain sugar coated, 3 Bavarian cream filled, and 1 mango filled. They were all hot and delicious! Definitely better than any large chain donut offering in the area, even though it's not a donut. I will definitely return to try different flavors. Highly recommend!

Made to order, warm with a perfect crunch, rotating flavors, polite staff and an absolutely precious greeter at the door.

Great addition to Hellertown! Fun, upbeat spot. Malasadas are fresh, delicious and true to Hawaii. Kona coffee is great. The true asset is Mamma handing out leis as you walk in! The only negative it that when busy (weekends), it takes a very long time to fulfill orders.

Mango, Pina Colada, Strawberry and Ube malasadas
    Esin A.

We tried a few of the malasada flavors: mango, pina colada, strawberry, ube, apple, peanut butter banana, key lime, banana cream, and they were all good. Iced Kona coffee was also good. Jean offers leis to customers when they come in, as a way to add to the Hawaiian experience, which is the theme of their business. And Jean is so friendly and helpful to customers. We also greeted Jay when he said hi to us, not knowing who he was at first. And we met one of the donut chefs. Aloha Jay's is a great addition to Lehigh Valley.

Snow Cap with Sprinkles! Jean brought us plates napkins and straws so we could enjoy it at the picnic table!

Just left this place! So delicious and had such good conversation with Jean!! Absolutely recommend stopping by!

    Minis
    Jessica H.

Excited to try the new minis which just launched and the choice of dippers was limited. I was hoping that after a month the consistency of the dough would be less "chewy" and a bit lighter. My husband had trouble biting into his regular size and needed to get out a knife and fork. This was 8:30am so we had hoped they were hot but barely warm sadly. The music inside is also very loud especially when trying to order.

    Holoholona

It was so fresh and delicious! I had the smores donut, fruit punch, and the Holoholona (the egg sandwich). The service was great, everyone was super sweet. Thank you guys! Most definitely coming back.

They kept a lot of the buildings older character so it'll appear as a "hole in the wall", but I found it warm and cozy. Seating choices include several tables, a long bar that faces the cooking area and a window seat for two that looks over Main Street. The staff was friendly and prompt. The menu has all of your breakfast standards, but also includes crepes. The lunch/dinner part consists of burgers, hotdogs, pierogies, tacos, chicken tenders and sandwiches. On the sweet side they have house-made baked goods, ice cream, sundaes, banana splits and milkshakes. My son and I stuck with breakfast. I had coffee and "The Shirley Special" - 2 eggs, 1 slice bacon, 1 slice thick French toast, breakfast potatoes $9.50. My son had a Turkey Hill chocolate milk, two eggs and a bagel. The Shirley was a good portion for the price. Everything was fresh and came out quick. My only nitpick was the bagel with my sons meal. It was a plain jane supermarket type of bagel. A place like this needs to serve some fresh local bagels! The coffee was a simple and tasty black roasted blend. Breakfast for two at $20 wasn't bad. The bathroom located in the back was small, but clean. I'd definitely return when traveling through the area. Thanks guys!

SHOUTOUT TO NADIA MY SERVER. SHE'S A REAL 1…read more First off: This is my first time to a Waffle House! For whatever reason, I've tried twice before, but life had other plans. But I'm glad that I ate Waffle House at what I perceive to be the right time: after 10PM. Having never ordered here, I have seen some YouTube videos on some epic meals. I decided for a Jalapeno Cheesesteak Hashbrown Bowl with sausage gravy, and since I am at the House of Waffle --- a half regular/half chocolate chip waffle as well. Nadia couldn't have been any nicer! I told her it was my first time, and she was so gracious and kind. A few hiccups but she corrected her course quickly. Quick shoutout to Eli the hashbrown jedi. I was sitting in a booth and in about 6-7 minutes, he made at least 8-10 rounds of crispy golden mounds for everyone in the establishment, and each hashbrown looked just as good as the previous. He's a pro. I recall visiting some Waffle Houses in Lancaster and even Ohio, and I didn't like the ambiance; however, this one is clean! At least at 10PM on a Thursday it was clean and staffed with excellent workers. My food was so delicious. That hashbrown bowl came with two servings of potatoes, eggs scrambled perfectly, and that thick sausage gravy to make everything into one delicious bite. I wanted a spicy kick --- and they topped it off with grill jalapenos? What magic is this?? Oh, now onto the waffle --- not too thick and not too thin. Perfect consistency. Typically a purist, but I appreciated the half chocolate chip experiment. 5/5. 10/10. I'm so glad Nadia, Eli, and Waffle House - Bethlehem was my first impression of this business. Will repeat!

Unfortunately, I forgot to write my servers name down, but she was very friendly, very helpful, and she checked in on me periodically. Waffle House is famously open 24/7. And in fact, FEMA uses what they call a "waffle House scale Green (Open, Full Menu): Minimal to no structural damage. The area has power and the community's infrastructure is largely intact.... Yellow (Open, Limited Menu): Moderate infrastructure disruptions. The restaurant is operating on backup generator power or has low food supplies.... Red (Closed): Severe damage. This indicates catastrophic conditions, massive power outages, unsafe roads, or structural damage to the restaurant itself The restaurant has a nice "diner vibe" on the inside. Are you gonna be getting Michelin star cuisine ? Of course not. Are you gonna be getting delicious, good old-fashioned stick to your ribs American food? You're darn right..... They have a decent sized menu, but I decided to go with the basics. A "firework waffle, two eggs, and hashbrowns. The great thing about the hashbrowns, is you can add to them, with an absolutely amazing number of combinations. I had mine smothered. (with sautéed onion.), covered (with cheese,) diced (with tomatoes", and. Capped , (with mushroom.). These are not your normal restaurant hashbrowns they use high-quality dehydrated, hashbrowns, which rehydrated on site. The cheese was American cheese, which was perfect for the hash brown and the onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms provided a nice "pop" of flavor, to counteract the richness of the cheese As it says in their name, their specialty is the waffle. It was crispy. Flavorful, and rich. instead of milk, they use half-and-half, and they have a special proprietary waffle mix, that is made for waffle House, and waffle House only. I could definitely taste the quality of the waffle. The "firework candy", on top was fun, and the sweetness did not overtake the waffle. they played very well with each other. There was also a small dollop of whipped cream on the top Their coffee is great, and my eggs were absolutely perfect. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they also offer a military/veterans discount. I wish they were in California. The fact that they are not makes it such a treat. The next time I find one, I will be there. Thank you.

With a comfortable one mile walk from Wind Creek Casino, I treaded on the greenway taking a much needed scenic route away from the ting-ting-ting slot action of the casino. Donerds was clean, modern and cartoonish in style! It was enjoyable and artsy! A comfortable nook with a mannequin that I had mistaken for a customer until I came into the store. So many choices ! They have a cannoli donut! Wow! I really wanted the crème brûlée donut but settled for the glazed one. With first bite, there was sugar but not overwhelming sweetness! I was glad for that! The donut is yeast raised and soft, fresh, and fluffy. Prices are affordable. The glazed set me back $2.25. There are also French macarons and fancier donuts too. I felt I wanted to try one of the basics to get a feel. I didn't spy any jelly donuts though, but an interesting cherry pistachio fancy one! The one employee was very nice! I found Donerd's Donuts while scrolling aimlessly and immediately added it to my "Adventures To Be…read moreHad" list. While in the area, I decided to stop in and see what all the hype was about. Fun fact: I had tried the Jim Thorpe location the day before and nearly cried into my coffee--only 4 lonely donuts left in the entire shop. Thankfully, the Bethlehem location came through in a big way! Donerd's is a classic donut-and-coffee shop--nothing else. Limited inside seating, quick service, and designed to get you your sugary fix and on your way. If you want to sit for a minute, there are public benches nearby, perfect for devouring your treats in the sunshine. They rotate their menu weekly, with "first/third/fifth week" flavors and "second/fourth week" flavors, plus a donut of the week. Luckily, my targets--the bacon maple and Nutella maple pecan--are weekly favorites. Walking in and seeing a case full of donuts waiting for me was pure joy. The bacon maple donut: fluffy, perfectly soft donut, smooth maple frosting, and a generous sprinkle of crumbled bacon perched on top. A classic done right. The Nutella maple pecan donut: oh my goodness. This thing was an ALL-STAR. Heavy, decadent, and packed full of Nutella filling in every single bite--no gaping, empty donut holes here. Topped with maple frosting and chopped pecans, each bite was heavenly. I may or may not have eaten the whole thing in one sitting while consoling myself with the box's encouragement: "You deserve a donut." Total damage: $8. Worth. Every. Penny. Slightly more than a big chain (you know the one that starts with Dun and ends with kin), but the freshness and quality make it 100% worth it. No on-site parking, but plenty of free street parking on Sundays. Staff were polite and efficient--pointed in service, but that's fine; I didn't come to chat, I came to eat donuts. If you're in Bethlehem and craving donuts that make your taste buds do backflips, Donerd's is your stop. Just get there early if you have your eye on a specific flavor...some of the others were already sold out by 1:30pm on Sunday.
