So this place was super chill and had great coffee. I'm not really a person who tries new stuff when it comes to my coffee unless it sounds really really good. But this time I saw a mint mocha coffee that was seasonal and I just had to try it and I'm glad I did cause it was amazing. The 2 people who were working the counter were awesome and pretty fast . I loved that it wasn't super busy and the lighting gave the place a good vibe.

Wonderful ambience, sustainable practices, and a great location to meet a friend for coffee. Love their pastries. They have some savory options as well!

Lit is truly a staple of the Southside Bethlehem scene. They support Southside small businesses so well and are a shining example of why small businesses should be supported. They roast their own coffee (Shoutout to Mike & Dan with Monocacy Coffee), bake their own pastries (Shoutout to Lino with Made by Lino), and do both so incredibly well. The pastries are a bit pricey, but that's because they are so far and above any danish from Starbucks or muffin from Dunkin. The coffee is arguably the best I've ever had. I'm super into coffee, I make my own espresso drinks at home, and Lit coffee is always my favorite to use. The staff is so incredibly personal, the owners are true Bethlehem icons, and you will not be disappointed giving Lit a try. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Long live Lit!

AMAZING options here for vegans!! We tried three of the four vegan options. The pain au chocolat, savory croissant, and sourdough pastelito were all delicious. My oat milk latte was stellar as well. This is my favorite cafe in Bethlehem so far. Excellent place!!!

It's about time Bethlehem! A genuine, non-commercialized coffee shop! This little coffee shop is adorable and eclectic . I can imagine the Lehigh University and Moravian College students love this place, how I wish this existed when I was in college. I hope you like the smell of coffee, I mean it is a coffee shop....because they roast their own beans in house. We got to pick the owners brain a bit about the process and it's very cool to watch it happen in real time. Oh, and that smell!!! They have several different rotating roasts daily and make your standard variety of drinks such as lattes, Americano's and cappuccinos. They have some delightful looking pastries to chose from as well. On my visit I sampled too macaroons which were delicious. My iced salted caramel latte was outstanding and not overly sweet. Only one downside here, parking! It's south Bethlehem so you probably already understand the parking situation sucks. Hopefully you can snag a metered street spot close by, it's worth the walk!

A really pretty Chai Latte and Cinna Pecan bread.

The best part of this coffee house is the atmosphere and it is pretty wonderful. I spent quite a bit of time here the other day working on my computer, sipping tea and eating a pastry and people watching. Love the cozy couches in the front. They make the people watching easy and it is nice and bright there. I thought my Chai tea to be only okay and the Cinna Pecan bread was really dry and heavy. Kind of wish I had tried one of their cookies instead.

I wanted to find a coffee shop around a restaurant I ate at for lunch. Using Google Maps, I discovered this place that was super close and was pleasantly surprised upon walking in. It immediately felt super homey and I noticed how the inside is super quirky and cute. The staff is friendly and they made some good coffee. I got a 12 oz. drip with almond milk and was able to add honey and cinnamon for only $2.25--a good price for a hot cup on such a cold day. Overall I definitely enjoyed this place and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Don't skip the chocolate chip cookies! Delish!

This place is called Lit for a reason! While recently visiting Bethlehem, I was in need of an afternoon pick-me-up and turned to Yelp to help me out. Lit seemed nice, so I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! I was able to easily secure nearby street parking and make my way to Lit. Upon entering, I saw several students studying, but it was a quiet and calming environment. If I lived nearby, I would definitely come here to work! I decided to try a coffee and one of their baked goods. You know how at a lot of coffee shops the baked good are subpar, random snacks that you eat out of necessity? That is definitely not the case at Lit. I decided to try their massive chocolate chip cookie on a recommendation from staff. This cookie was BOMB. It had hints of brown butter, large chocolate rounds throughout and a healthy sprinkling of salt to round out the sweetness. I would literally go back just for the cookie! The coffee was equally delicious and affordable. Absolutely try Lit if you're in the need for coffee, a snack, and/or a quiet place to study or work. The staff is warm and welcoming, the environment is well maintained, and they have a variety of options, including gluten free and vegan baked goods.

Oh, and there's no shortage of free parking at this restaurant. First off, the picture on the menu showed a little bowl for the onion stew, whereas what I got was onion stew spread over the chicken. The stew itself was tasty, but for both the stew and grilled chicken, a bit more tenderness and less chewiness would certainly have elevated both dishes. The red beans and plantains were fine, but the yellow rice lacked any discernible flavour which was disappointing. I believe this place has what it takes to be even better and that both dishes should have been better. I hope they continue to improve and serve the locals (and non-locals) for many more years.

Then I thought the order was cancelled but I didn't receive any refund. I called the restaurant and they said the order was complete. But I never got the food. This means that the restaurant probably gave it to other people by mistake. However, they didn't admit this mistake and claimed they are not responsible for this. They did not show any sincerity nor gave me any compensation for this problem.

With a comfortable one mile walk from Wind Creek Casino, I treaded on the greenway taking a much needed scenic route away from the ting-ting-ting slot action of the casino. Donerds was clean, modern and cartoonish in style! It was enjoyable and artsy! A comfortable nook with a mannequin that I had mistaken for a customer until I came into the store. So many choices ! They have a cannoli donut! Wow! I really wanted the crème brûlée donut but settled for the glazed one. With first bite, there was sugar but not overwhelming sweetness! I was glad for that! The donut is yeast raised and soft, fresh, and fluffy. Prices are affordable. The glazed set me back $2.25. There are also French macarons and fancier donuts too. I felt I wanted to try one of the basics to get a feel. I didn't spy any jelly donuts though, but an interesting cherry pistachio fancy one! The one employee was very nice! I thought for sure the donut would have a wax paper to grab it but nope just bare bones donut in a bag! Still, I was very satisfied! It was worth the trek!

I found Donerd's Donuts while scrolling aimlessly and immediately added it to my "Adventures To Be…read moreHad" list. While in the area, I decided to stop in and see what all the hype was about. Fun fact: I had tried the Jim Thorpe location the day before and nearly cried into my coffee--only 4 lonely donuts left in the entire shop. Thankfully, the Bethlehem location came through in a big way! Donerd's is a classic donut-and-coffee shop--nothing else. Limited inside seating, quick service, and designed to get you your sugary fix and on your way. If you want to sit for a minute, there are public benches nearby, perfect for devouring your treats in the sunshine. They rotate their menu weekly, with "first/third/fifth week" flavors and "second/fourth week" flavors, plus a donut of the week. Luckily, my targets--the bacon maple and Nutella maple pecan--are weekly favorites. Walking in and seeing a case full of donuts waiting for me was pure joy. The bacon maple donut: fluffy, perfectly soft donut, smooth maple frosting, and a generous sprinkle of crumbled bacon perched on top. A classic done right. The Nutella maple pecan donut: oh my goodness. This thing was an ALL-STAR. Heavy, decadent, and packed full of Nutella filling in every single bite--no gaping, empty donut holes here. Topped with maple frosting and chopped pecans, each bite was heavenly. I may or may not have eaten the whole thing in one sitting while consoling myself with the box's encouragement: "You deserve a donut." Total damage: $8. Worth. Every. Penny. Slightly more than a big chain (you know the one that starts with Dun and ends with kin), but the freshness and quality make it 100% worth it. No on-site parking, but plenty of free street parking on Sundays. Staff were polite and efficient--pointed in service, but that's fine; I didn't come to chat, I came to eat donuts. If you're in Bethlehem and craving donuts that make your taste buds do backflips, Donerd's is your stop. Just get there early if you have your eye on a specific flavor...some of the others were already sold out by 1:30pm on Sunday.
