    an omelet and fried chicken
    Joy A.

Adequate is the term, food was okay not awful but not good enough that I want to come back. Flavorless and bland. If you use a credit card beware they up charge you without telling you ahead of time. It's clean so it's got that going for it. Bacon and Canadian bacon were over killed, my pork loving hubs left both sit.

The bug I almost ate that was in my salad.

I've been coming to the Hellertown diner for many years. I've had a few little problems where they've left off the chicken on my salad and I drove all the way home only to discover I was charged and it wasn't on the salad. That's one thing. What I experienced on Monday was a whole new level. I was eating my Greek salad and I tasted something absolutely disgusting and bitter. I spit out my bite and there was a green stink bug in it. I ran to the kitchen to rinse my mouth out and came back to find the bug scurrying across the table. I called the restaurant to tell them that they need to actually *wash* the lettuce because there was a pretty big bug in my salad and there was no apology, no offer to comp the salad, nothing. I don't think their "regular" customers mean anything to them. I go there twice a week and I don't think I will ever trust them again. Deeply disappointed.

The diner got a nice brightening up. The service was great from beginning to end. The waitress was fun & knew the menu well - she made the experience even better. Overall, the experience is worth it. Good food, good service, & good prices.

Good breakfast. Fast service. Waitress was attentive and the diner was clean. Haven't had to wait to be seated anytime I've gone here.

Menu is large, food is pretty average in my opinion. Nothing stood out as amazing, but nothing was bad either. I got the French onion soup and cheesesteak and was happy with my meal. Service was excellent.

Hellertown is the last sizeable town on the way north from Bucks County to Bethlehem in Northampton. It was a logical breakfast stop during an early morning drive to the car dealer for repairs. The diner by that name I found on Yelp with reasonably decent reviews, so that was our stop. The facility sits at the north end of the Hellerstown Shopping Center, dressed in dark yellow adobe, with entre at the side of the building. It is somewhat dated with booths, tables and short counter in two rooms, yet clean and efficiently run. It seems to be a gathering spot for the social security crowd, with large menu and discounted specials. We chose the Greek Omelet (w home fries and rye toast) and Sunnyside Up Eggs (potatoes & wheat). Both were substantial, with mundane coffee as part of the plan. The omelet plate was interestingly presented with straight edges for the fries and egg mix, like the grill had sections with metal walls separating each order. Even the fried eggs came with some of the same square corners. Too, everything was unusually thin and flat as if compressed. This process didn't really change the taste of everything, but did reduce the amount of ingredients involved. Small mugs for the java with only one refill offered early in the meal when not much had been consumed. Modern credit card system with screen to select percentage tips starting at 18%. We left a cash gratuity on the table and skipped this annoyance. It was subtle, but this Hellerstown Diner displayed an ungenerous spirit which did not welcome a return by these travelers.

That's how they do things at Drip. Instead of a server taking your order verbally, you fill out a paper menu. My buddies and I started off sharing three appetizers; Bavarian pretzels, fried cheese, and Nicky's Chicky wings. The pretzels were buttered, salted, and served with cheese sauce. The fried cheese was lightly breaded and served with a delicious garlic aioli. The cheese pull on these bad boys was insane! The wings were tender, but not crispy. The Nicky's Chicky sauce tasted like a normal BBQ sauce. After sampling all of the appetizers, I moved on to the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with fries and mac n' cheese. I didn't love the seasoning on the chicken sandwich, but the chicken itself was great quality and cooked to perfection. The fries were seasoned very well, but served lukewarm. The mac n' cheese was creamy, cheesy, and the noodles weren't overcooked like most places. Our server was welcoming, attentive, and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. The one thing I didn't like about this place was "extras are extra." I can understand an upcharge for extra cheese or bacon, but an upcharge for LTO and mayo is a bit ridiculous. SHOUTOUT TO NADIA MY SERVER. SHE'S A REAL 1…read more First off: This is my first time to a Waffle House! For whatever reason, I've tried twice before, but life had other plans. But I'm glad that I ate Waffle House at what I perceive to be the right time: after 10PM. Having never ordered here, I have seen some YouTube videos on some epic meals. I decided for a Jalapeno Cheesesteak Hashbrown Bowl with sausage gravy, and since I am at the House of Waffle --- a half regular/half chocolate chip waffle as well. Nadia couldn't have been any nicer! I told her it was my first time, and she was so gracious and kind. A few hiccups but she corrected her course quickly. Quick shoutout to Eli the hashbrown jedi. I was sitting in a booth and in about 6-7 minutes, he made at least 8-10 rounds of crispy golden mounds for everyone in the establishment, and each hashbrown looked just as good as the previous. He's a pro. I recall visiting some Waffle Houses in Lancaster and even Ohio, and I didn't like the ambiance; however, this one is clean! At least at 10PM on a Thursday it was clean and staffed with excellent workers. My food was so delicious. That hashbrown bowl came with two servings of potatoes, eggs scrambled perfectly, and that thick sausage gravy to make everything into one delicious bite. I wanted a spicy kick --- and they topped it off with grill jalapenos? What magic is this?? Oh, now onto the waffle --- not too thick and not too thin. Perfect consistency. Typically a purist, but I appreciated the half chocolate chip experiment. 5/5. 10/10. I'm so glad Nadia, Eli, and Waffle House - Bethlehem was my first impression of this business. Will repeat!

And in fact, FEMA uses what they call a "waffle House scale Green (Open, Full Menu): Minimal to no structural damage. The area has power and the community's infrastructure is largely intact.... Yellow (Open, Limited Menu): Moderate infrastructure disruptions. The restaurant is operating on backup generator power or has low food supplies.... Red (Closed): Severe damage. Are you gonna be getting Michelin star cuisine ? Of course not. Are you gonna be getting delicious, good old-fashioned stick to your ribs American food? You're darn right..... They have a decent sized menu, but I decided to go with the basics. A "firework waffle, two eggs, and hashbrowns. The great thing about the hashbrowns, is you can add to them, with an absolutely amazing number of combinations. I had mine smothered. (with sautéed onion.), covered (with cheese,) diced (with tomatoes", and. Capped , (with mushroom.). These are not your normal restaurant hashbrowns they use high-quality dehydrated, hashbrowns, which rehydrated on site. The cheese was American cheese, which was perfect for the hash brown and the onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms provided a nice "pop" of flavor, to counteract the richness of the cheese As it says in their name, their specialty is the waffle. It was crispy. Flavorful, and rich. instead of milk, they use half-and-half, and they have a special proprietary waffle mix, that is made for waffle House, and waffle House only. I could definitely taste the quality of the waffle. The "firework candy", on top was fun, and the sweetness did not overtake the waffle. they played very well with each other. There was also a small dollop of whipped cream on the top Their coffee is great, and my eggs were absolutely perfect. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they also offer a military/veterans discount. I wish they were in California. The fact that they are not makes it such a treat. The next time I find one, I will be there. Thank you.

La Maya did not disappoint! The ambience is dimly lit, and perfect for a romantic dinner. On the cocktails side, I tried "Señor Sal" - a dirty martini / Vesper riff featuring their proprietary gin and vodka, dry vermouth, pickled jalapeño, olive brine, and lemon infused olive oil. It was a visually attractive, delicious, and sturdy cocktail. Just what the doctor ordered! Later I tried the house margarita. It was balanced and refreshing. There are options to add flavorings to the house margarita spec for +$2 (e.g., Matcha Coconut, Spicy, Guava Mint, Caramelized Pineapple). My dinner companion tried the caramelized pineapple and loved it. On the culinary side, the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. For an entree, I selected the Carne Nortena - a tequila-marinated ribeye with sauteed scallions, shisito peppers. The steak was cooked perfectly to temperature (medium-rare) and amazingly juicy. The roasted sweet potato wedges (Camote) were also outstanding. Don't forget dessert - the coconut flan was to die for! Service - I believe our server's name was Alex, was on-point. He was knowledgeable about both the food and beverages, and did not rush us. Thank you La Maya for a great evening. I will definitely return.
