I stayed at Staybridge Suites in Allentown, and the diner (fortunately open 24/7) was only two blocks away. The menu is a throwback to the 60's and 70's, lol. I was gobsmacked to see "Liver and Onion," which was the bane of my childhood. Yuck! I asked whether people actually ordered it, and apparently it's quite popular. Amazing. There are NO gluten-free bread, pasta, or baked dessert items. So I ordered a Monterey Chicken Sandwich with no bread, and a side of fruit salad, to go. Got back to the hotel, and there was a very thin piece of chicken breast topped with a huge piece of ham and melted cheese, accompanied by naked lettuce, tomato, and a slice of onion. Sigh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. And there was no fruit salad. I called them and said that I didn't get it, and could I please pick it up in the morning? They very graciously said yes. Looked at my receipt, and no side was listed. That's why I didn't get it--he didn't note the order. I didn't want fries because I had some at lunch. This is a real middle-America diner. Nothing fancy, except the desserts, which looked incredibly delicious and made me sad. The salad bar was kind of scary. Lots of goopy things drenched in white stuff. Not a lot of healthy raw veggies, although there were empty bins that may have held them earlier. It's a nicely-decorated place, and they have GNOMES!! I didn't go in the lounge area, since I just got takeout and went back to the hotel. Service was very nice, polite, and friendly.

Adorable diner! We stopped in around 9 PM while traveling through PA, and everyone we encountered -- from the hostess to the waitress -- was incredibly polite and welcoming. The food was classic diner fare. I ordered the BLT, which was a little smaller than expected but still tasty, and it came with a pickle and a side of Lay's potato chips. My boyfriend had one of their paninis with fries, and the fries were perfectly crispy! We didn't try the salad bar, but it looked clean and well-stocked when we walked by.

I would NOT go here again. How can you mess up breakfast? The service was average at best, the food quality was poor and the atmosphere is like a 70 year old casino. It's accessible to many of the major roads, has plenty of parking so I can see why the location gets business. I would not return. The shocking thing is in this area there is only one decent breakfast place and it was closed on Monday... so you'd think a second GOOD breakfast option would be a NICE alternative ! Oh well. This place needs Gordon Ramsey

Great food! We were in town for a wedding and wanted to hit up a local diner! We got the croissant breakfast sandwich, omelet, and pancakes. We got the short stack of two pancakes, but the pancakes were absolutely humongous so we could've just gotten one and been happy. Awesome service and vibes with the aquarium, definitely a diner to hit up!

Everything was good. We had a server that was clearly working hard and she had no help. She was great. I have patience so it was ok. The food was great and my family enjoyed everything. Definitely a diner that I would visit again. The restaurant was nice and there was a bar area and plenty of seating.

Beautiful diner and decor. We stopped here for lunch. Nice menu, friendly waitress. We ordered an albacore tuna melt with fries, a burger with cup of soup and fruit salad. Did not ask how I liked my burger, it came out dry and chewy and very well done. The cream of cheesesteak was very good. The fruit salad tasted old and not sweet. The tuna melt good, but not albacore in taste, texture or color. The fries very good and crunchy. Not the best lunch we had but we were hungry and ate what we could.

The server was very attentive and super nice. The atmosphere was very home feeling. It was nostalgic to go back to this place after I moved several years ago out of PA. The food was just okay. My fries were great but my wings were a little overcooked and ended up being a bit dry. I loved the little jukebox at the tables. Been a long time since I've seen that!

Starlite is your average fare diner. We went for breakfast. Good, but nothing over the top. Our service was excellent though, so that's why I gave it four stars. The restaurant was very spacious and clean. So if you're hungry and just need some food it works but if you're looking for creative and unique it may leave you searching.

The smell of fresh coffee is everywhere and a positive vibe is present. We sat down quickly in the farthest booth, our preference. I had a nice view of the patrons, the street, and the kitchen. I noticed the amount of dessert on the counter, and later learned they were made in house, and if I am not wrong, this place is known for their desserts. We ordered a pretty standard diner breakfast and everything was perfect. As usual, and not to say that I am complicated, I had my order customized, and the server graciously accommodated me. After all, great service means a bigger tip. We were very satisfied. I got to visit a true diner, have a good meal, get a feel of the community, and the chance to help that community with my business. After all, diners, just like breweries, are traditionally American institutions for community exchange, much like the town's inn or the pub, if we were in the British lands.

I ordered an omelette, and my son had the eggs Benedict. Both dishes came out looking great, and the coffee was also surprisingly good. It had that fresh, smooth flavor that's hard to find at most breakfast spots. My omelette was a bit on the mild side, not heavily seasoned, but I actually prefer it that way. It might feel a little too bland for someone who likes bolder flavors, though. Overall, it was a pleasant breakfast and a great way to start the day. Some things were good, others were disappointing. I couldn't decide between the breakfast tacos and the G145 egg sandwich, so I got both. This was the first time I ever ordered breakfast tacos so I'm glad they were delicious! They were piled high with chorizo, scrambled eggs, tater tots, cheddar jack cheese, pico, and sour cream. The G145 egg sandwich consists of two eggs, bacon, & American cheese on a brioche bun. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the roll was soft and flavorful. My dad ordered a strip steak and eggs. He said, "it was okay, it's kind of tough". A medium rare steak should never be tough. My mom ordered two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and toast. She enjoyed the eggs and toast, but said the potatoes were awful. I had some with my sandwich and I have to agree with her. They were bland and dry. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good, but the service was substandard. Our server was super unattentive. Eating and socializing behind the bar was more of a priority than checking on her tables. I was still generous enough to tip 20%. Pickup and delivery are both available. At first it was a little rough and then it became outstanding for a while. And then it started to slip again. Haven't been back since it started to slip. Freshness and good ingredients are very important. It seemed like the ingredients were slipping the last time we were there. We have not been back. There's a lot of good restaurants in this area that don't slip. So we stick with our favorites for now but, we do like to try new things. Most of the time the service is spot on and really nice. Such a shame to have all those good things in place and not pay attention to the most important detail. Food quality is where it starts. If you don't do this correctly and use subpar raw ingredients down to every detail, you're wasting all the hard earned resources that you have to work with. It's a desperate move, not a move that is going to lead to a long term successful business of any kind. The key is sticking to quality and find a way to keep going with those good ingredients. Lower prices can jumpstart the business again. And, if you're fortunate enough to get your customers back and your business grows again, lower your prices just a little to show your appreciation for your customers. Sincere good will is what you want and what you need to spread. Don't allow greed to return even in difficult times if they should return. And in regards to ambiance, we found it to be nice but, on occasion the shades weren't blocking the sun well enough. Small, yet important detail. Clean restrooms are also very important. I understand that you can't be everywhere at once but, like a security guard, you can do a run from station to station or restroom or freezer to check that everything is all good. I used to work in a kitchen for a few years. I loved the first one but, the second one had some people that I couldn't work around. Two entirely different experiences. The second one drove me back to pursuing my music career again and I am still at it. I will be playing at The Water Lantern Festival on July 18th at Cedar Beach Park in Allentown. My set is at 8 pm. And try not to look sad. I understand it's not going to be easy. Good things don't come easy is a saying that I heard a long time ago and I understand it from experience. And I can testify that it worked for me.
