I'm updating my review from last year to 5 stars. We love Waba, so decided to give this location another try and our last several orders have been cooked perfectly. Not only that, but the staff is always working hard and are very nice - even during the busy times when school lets out. Our favorite order is mixed taco trio- and we mix up the choices each time. This place is really good, I have 0 complaints with the food, customer service, etc. The only thing It stopped me for giving it 5 stars, is the LOUD Reggaeton Music that is always bumping, specially at lunch time. I understand the cooks are bored, but please Just keep it low. It's impossible to eat in with such loud music. read more

Newer WaBa nearby my house. Good location. Plenty of parking. All the WaBa's I've been to have been pretty consistent with their food quality. Which is great. If you want a nice chicken bowl, WaBa is the spot to go. They have a family meal as well which was pretty affordable. You can feed 4 people for $20. It came with chicken, rice, and veggies. This is definitely not the closest location to me, but the reason why I drive almost 20 minutes to this location is the sheer fact that the employees do an excellent job at generously portioning all of the menus items, while also providing speedy service. Probably one of the worst experience ever . Repeated the order several times to the women working in the front register only to be asked to repeat it again. Extremely patient told her multiple times and in the end the order came wrong . Have been going to waba grill for a few years always get the same thing and this time I got something completely different that I didn't even ask for . Located at the street side of this L shaped strip mall... parking was decent because the rest of the shops weren't that busy. We ordered a chicken rice bowl and a shrimp rice veggie bowl and a miso soup. The soup wasn't that good, but the bowls were pretty good. You'll have to use the Waba sauce packets once you finish the meat off the top because they don't put enough sauce in the bowls. My only complaint is that they barely cook the broccoli and carrots. I understand that they want to keep as many nutrients in as possible. But... I'm in it for the taste. I'd rather eat all my veggies (over cooked) rather than just 25% of the hard ones and throw away the rest. But, I'm guessing their main office tells them to cook it s certain way. read more

So I popped in here to pick up a veggie bowl, straight veggies - no meat, no rice. There was a line, one person taking orders and one cook. The guy behind the register was super polite, apologized for the wait and he was constantly smiling. It was refreshing. However, he gave the cook my order right away and told him I just wanted veggies, no rice or meat - pretty simple. However the cook seemed new or out of place. They had announced they were out of steak and salmon and that was okay for me because I was fasting and couldn't eat meat anyway. I stood there a long time waiting for this simple order and by then he had taken several more orders and noticed he still didn't have the veggie bowl, so he took the order slip down and made the veggie bowl himself, giving me extra veggies and teriyaki for the wait, bagged my bow and apologized for the weight. My veggies were delicious. I don't like the guy just grabbed the frozen shrimp bag and threw them on the grill. I mean, I'm sure they are clean but I always clean the shrimp again when I take them out of the bag but like I said earlier this cook seemed new. NO STARS. First off, the phone number listed is disconnected. Secondly, every employee that works here is unpleasant. They don't greet the customers in person and approach you with "did you order yet?" .... have you taken my order? No then obviously not. The speed at this location is ridiculous it shouldn't take 30 minutes to get one chicken bowl. Where is the district or store manager? The food prep is disgusting, the onions were horribly cut and were not fresh as they were all slimey. This is a new location and it needs a lot of attention. The manager needs to show up and ensure their store is running correctly because their employees can't handle it on their own. I will head to another location going forward. read more

Glad that this location is finally open with it being so close to my house. Great area near schools, businesses, the metro orange line as well as close to the actual balboa lake! Super spacious, well lit with tall windows that look out to the street. Wide open kitchen to watch the simple process that makes this resturant so damn good!! Employees have a pretty bad attitude and make it seem like they're doing you a favor by taking your order. Food wasn't bad but the portions are way smaller than any other store. For a new store they're starting pretty bad and gave me no reason for me to continue doing business with them. read more

Awesome Service and so clean. This place definitely takes 5 stars for customer service and cleanliness. The bathroom is super spotless and even smells good. I got the basic chicken bowl with brown rice and it was simply delicious. I got white meat in replacement and was totally worth it. Staff is very friendly and they always seem to be so busy during lunch. May take a while because of the lunch rush but totally worth it! Good job guys! read more
