Came here on rainy day to pick up at lunch time and the service was friendly and relatively quick even though there were 4 people waiting ahead of me. We got two, two-item aloha plates, both with bbq chicken and one with katsu shrimp and one with chicken katsu. They both came with a fresh salad and had minimal dressing which I really enjoyed. This is my first time at this location and the meats were consistent with the other locations. The shrimp is an extra .50 charge and it only came with three but it was worth it. Looking for a Gym, healthy food options for the GAINS! Look no further than this plaza! Across from the LA Fitness and across from a Costco gas station , this spot is a great location for macro gains and stable chicken with rice. This location has plenty of seating with a welcoming entrance. The staff are nice and friendly. The decorations are whimsical, with an organized seating. The bathrooms are on the side and it serves lots of To-Go Orders. The service is quick and waited less than 10min for both plates. Not a good spot to people watch since they are trying to get it to go. The sprite was spritzing and food was consistent. I'm a delivery driver and came to pick up an order and restaurants are required by Law to have all food and drinks packaged up by employees. They try to get me to fill up a fountain drink, which sounds like no big deal, but it is a Health code violation because drivers don't have food handlers cards because we're not supposed to be tampering with anything. That's why most responsible corporate restaurants have stickers that go over the top of the drink and seal it because they are supposed to fill it and not third-party delivery drivers who don't wash their hands The fact that a rude employee tried to argue with me over health code laws in front of the entire restaurant, makes me think what things are doing behind the counter that are even worse. This place can look forward to losing its A rating when the health department comes down. read more

I should've written this review a few weeks back. Anyway this is close to my workplace so this is our usual go to for lunch. We also get coupons and we have an online account with promotions as well. Here's a good deal but can only be used up to this week - they launched their lava shrimp a couple of weeks ago and there's a promotion on Fridays for seafood where you get a plate for only $8. Note that this is not the one with macaroni. Love their macaroni salad but I tried lava shrimp 2x (both on Fridays to get the deal) and it was pretty good. Reminds me of boiling crab seasoning - not exactly but close. Might be more spicy for some but it's ok with me. If you don't like shrimp - their chicken bbq plate is good as well. That's really my default order. I used to get the mahi mahi but that's not available anymore. I usually have food to go but recently I've been ordering online and eating in so I have uninterrupted lunch break. Also online orders have more promotions. Place is sometimes full at lunch but you'll always find a seat. If you work nearby definitely order here and if you like that Hawaiian macaroni salad - it's pretty good. I honestly only really come here for the spam musubi since it comes in 2 pieces while other places don't make it as good or they charge per piece. My family loves their Hawaiian bbq plates! The Katsu is delicious and love their Mac salad. They also have other musubi like chicken and beef rather than the standard spam which is neat. Parking can be a bit of a pain but it's a big lot with other food and shops around. Definitely worth coming here over other Hawaiian bbq places! I wish I could go into the negative on stars because my experience today was unacceptable! I usually go in person to this location but for the first time ever I didnt feeling like driving and took advantage of the lower fees with Grub Hub + thru Amazon Prime. Big mistake - first of all , Ono is one of the few places with no drop down menus to add or modify orders. I wanted to make sure all of their sauces were in the bag so I called the restaurant. Whoever answered the phone said all of the sauces would be in the bag. Well of course my order arrived in record time and was missing my favorite sauce , the Katsu sauce. I called the restaurant a 2nd time and explained what happened. I'm not sure where all the bad service reviews are coming from because I had great service from 3 staff who helped me from the cashier to a cook checking on my order and another girl handing off my order. I wasn't too hungry so I just went with their musubi, I was able to get the set with one chicken and one spam for about $6. Overall, the biggest issue is the amount of rice to meat ratio. You could barely see the protein in either musubi. Now I know this isn't a "burrito" where it's going to be stuffed with meat and filling, and I LOVE musubis, but it was pretty sad just how bad the ratio was. The rice was also a bit hard. But I did enjoy it being made fresh as you can't always find "freshly made" musubi in LA. Both meats also had good sauce and flavor. The spam is pre-made so nothing to cook there, but the chicken was just rubbery and had a weird texture to it. Too many misses for me to leave even an average review here. read more

We waited 30 minutes for our order and while waiting as a couple other numbers after ours were called we went up to the counter just to check on the wait. My wife took her mom here while I was dropping off her car across the street at Costco for a tire change. When we first arrived here, they were not busy so we were able to order. We went with the grill chicken breast plate. The order took a while to be made since they are making it fresh so my wife went outside to sit since they were cold inside. I went to use the restroom and it requires a key to get in. After I got out and returned the keys, the food was ready. The woman I spoke to told me I need to speak with the manager. So she gave the phone to the manager and she picked up speaking Spanish. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken comes with "grilled boneless and skinless chicken that is marinated in Hawaiian BBQ Sauce". This dish comes with 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad, and veggies (this mix always comes with a lot of the dishes). This dish always hits the spot! The Hawaiian BBQ Beef, which contains "grilled slices of tender beef marinated in Hawaiian BBQ sauce", is always a great reward after a nice workout. The Kalua Pork includes "slow roasted pork with a hint of smokey flavor, served shredded over steamed cabbage" and is making my mouth water as I write this. The most recent order we got consisted of the Kalbi Short Ribs, which are "tender beef short ribs marinated in Korean Style BBQ sauce" and are featured in the photo. I believe it when it is stated that they are "grilled to perfection" on the website. There are many other options and it may be a tradition now, but we always order a set of Musubi. Whether it's the Spam Musubi, the BBQ Chicken Musubi, or the BBQ Beef Musubi, you cannot go wrong with these selections. They have always had great service and there is usually plenty of parking out front. May everyone here continue to keep up the great work! Needed to stop for food on our way to the beach and hubby was craving Hawaiian so we found this place. I ordered the a combo with chicken and beef, hubby ordered the combo with spicy chicken and beef and a chicken katsu kids plate for the little. All the food was delicious! My daughter doesn't normally eat chicken because it's dry it doesn't like the sauce, but even she enjoyed it hers and mine. There was so much food i was able to eat the other half of my meal for dinner. The restaurant was really clean and modern looking. I came back to what I thought was my new favorite place and it just wasn't as good today, the customer service was fine not as friendly as last time. the katsu was medium luke warm, the vegetables were so good last time and this time they were very different. It looked the same but the taste and environment was different. I'd suggest a board displaying when your number is called. This was my first time trying this place and the first time for my mom and aunt. Our feast tonight was white fish and shrimp and mine was the chicken meal. We also ordered the crab rangoons to try since those are a favorite. Let's start with the Shrimp; giant shrimps in a circle (neat presentation!) and lightly battered for a nice crunch and shrimp taste, the batter isn't seasoned which I don't like but that's a personal taste kinda thing and thankfully I like the taste of shrimp. The white fish has the same batter but more packed together, fish is really nice and flavorful and perfectly sized and light. Very nice and you don't feel heavy after! The chicken was amazing! Easy to cut with a knife and so flavorful, juicy and yummy. Paired with a bite of white rice and it was heavenly. Now I don't like macaroni salad and this came with it, so I figured might as well try it right? New favorite thing. Doesn't even taste like what I thought macaroni salad tastes like?? Honestly if that's not your thing you have to give it one try, you will change your mind. The chicken meal also comes with veggies which were lightly cooked so the broccoli had a crunch to it which is not for everyone but happens to be my preferred way. And soaked in chicken juices honestly it's even better. The Crab rangoons were a little disappointing, the crab flavor was almost null and the batter was actually kinda salty to a point it wasn't pleasant, which from me who loves salt is saying something. My mother enjoyed them but I don't think this is something we'll get again. We got a hunger of sauces to try with things too, teriyaki sauces, some brownish red sauce with a kick and some red sauce that looked like cocktail sauce or ketchup but let me tell you that was NOT ketchup or cocktail sauce. Seriously this was spicy do not attempt a large bit of it without preparation. All in all, this is a really great place and we'll definitely get them again. read more
