Looking for a Gym, healthy food options for the GAINS! Look no further than this plaza! Across from the LA Fitness and across from a Costco gas station , this spot is a great location for macro gains and stable chicken with rice. This location has plenty of seating with a welcoming entrance. The staff are nice and friendly. The decorations are whimsical, with an organized seating. The bathrooms are on the side and it serves lots of To-Go Orders. The service is quick and waited less than 10min for both plates. Not a good spot to people watch since they are trying to get it to go. The sprite was spritzing and food was consistent. Enjoyed my meal and ate leftovers today. 7/10, the downside is that they charge for plastic bags but I rather pay for plastic than a paper bag. Check this spot out for good options!

I got the Hawaiian bbq mix which came with kalbi beef, bbq beef, and bbq chicken. The kalbi beef had the best flavor but both beefs were chewy and hard to eat. The chicken was pretty good, juicy but not super flavorful. I enjoyed the fried shrimp and crab rangoons as well. The Mac salad was okay but a little bland

Lava Shrimp - my 2nd time ordering this

I should've written this review a few weeks back. Anyway this is close to my workplace so this is our usual go to for lunch. We also get coupons and we have an online account with promotions as well. Here's a good deal but can only be used up to this week - they launched their lava shrimp a couple of weeks ago and there's a promotion on Fridays for seafood where you get a plate for only $8. Note that this is not the one with macaroni. Love their macaroni salad but I tried lava shrimp 2x (both on Fridays to get the deal) and it was pretty good. Reminds me of boiling crab seasoning - not exactly but close. Might be more spicy for some but it's ok with me. If you don't like shrimp - their chicken bbq plate is good as well. That's really my default order. I used to get the mahi mahi but that's not available anymore. I usually have food to go but recently I've been ordering online and eating in so I have uninterrupted lunch break. Also online orders have more promotions. Place is sometimes full at lunch but you'll always find a seat. If you work nearby definitely order here and if you like that Hawaiian macaroni salad - it's pretty good. Sometimes I just order that.

2025/03/17 Update: I tried their limited time special, the Lava Shrimp plate, I ordered it without salad and extra rice. As implied by it's name, it's hot, but the heat was not immediate, it took a while for the heat to hit me, at first it was hot enough to give it flavor but after a while, my mouth heated up! It comes with about 12 shrimps. It was good. I'm glad I ordered a large soda tho

Stopped in for lunch and we received excellent service, the dining area was great and everything was clean. The food was delicious! All the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend Ono Hawaiian BBQ.

I honestly only really come here for the spam musubi since it comes in 2 pieces while other places don't make it as good or they charge per piece. My family loves their Hawaiian bbq plates! The Katsu is delicious and love their Mac salad. They also have other musubi like chicken and beef rather than the standard spam which is neat. Parking can be a bit of a pain but it's a big lot with other food and shops around. Definitely worth coming here over other Hawaiian bbq places! Lots of seating inside and outside and they have an easy order process. Wish they had more in the area. IG: @ammysalamii

I wish I could go into the negative on stars because my experience today was unacceptable! I usually go in person to this location but for the first time ever I didnt feeling like driving and took advantage of the lower fees with Grub Hub + thru Amazon Prime. Big mistake - first of all , Ono is one of the few places with no drop down menus to add or modify orders. I wanted to make sure all of their sauces were in the bag so I called the restaurant. Whoever answered the phone said all of the sauces would be in the bag. Well of course my order arrived in record time and was missing my favorite sauce , the Katsu sauce. I called the restaurant a 2nd time and explained what happened. After 14 minutes on hold, the manager came back only with an offer of a side macaroni salad for the trouble - I told him this was unacceptable. I wont be back to this location !

I'm not sure where all the bad service reviews are coming from because I had great service from 3 staff who helped me from the cashier to a cook checking on my order and another girl handing off my order. I wasn't too hungry so I just went with their musubi, I was able to get the set with one chicken and one spam for about $6. Overall, the biggest issue is the amount of rice to meat ratio. You could barely see the protein in either musubi. Now I know this isn't a "burrito" where it's going to be stuffed with meat and filling, and I LOVE musubis, but it was pretty sad just how bad the ratio was. The rice was also a bit hard. But I did enjoy it being made fresh as you can't always find "freshly made" musubi in LA. Both meats also had good sauce and flavor. The spam is pre-made so nothing to cook there, but the chicken was just rubbery and had a weird texture to it. Too many misses for me to leave even an average review here.

I think I…read morewas a little hesitant because I had never tried this style of Hawaiian cuisine before, but I'm so glad we finally came. The service was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. To start I really loved the yellowtail crispy rice. It was one of the best versions I've ever had. The spicy yellowtail was perfectly seasoned, the crispy rice had the ideal texture, and the sauce, ikura, and finishing touches brought everything together beautifully. I also loved that they offered a 50/50 option with Spam crispy rice since that's my husband's favorite, so we both got exactly what we wanted. The tuna poki featured excellent quality fish, although the sauce wasn't my personal favorite. My husband absolutely loved it, though. The dumplings were another highlight and ended up being his favorite dish of the night. You could tell they were made fresh in-house, and the peas added a really nice balance. My only note was that the sauce leaned a little too heavily on the coconut flavor for my taste. For our entrée, we ordered the pan-fried snapper. I completely forgot to take a photo before we started serving ourselves, but it was beautifully cooked. It reminded me a bit of bronzino with its delicate, flaky texture. The fish itself was fantastic, although, similar to a few other dishes, the sauce wasn't quite what I'm used to. The warm rice pudding was also really tasty. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough actual rice pudding compared to all of the toppings because the flavor was so good. For reference, I'm someone who really doesn't enjoy Thai food, while my husband loves it. This isn't Thai food at all, but some of the sauces had coconut-forward flavor profiles that reminded me of flavors I typically don't gravitate toward. Even with that, I still genuinely enjoyed every dish we ordered, which says a lot about how well everything was prepared. There were dishes I'd absolutely order again, and others I'd probably swap out next time simply because there were so many interesting options on the menu. I also appreciated that the menu had plenty of seafood options, which was perfect since I've been trying to eat more fish. Everything we ordered was fresh and high quality. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. It's on the smaller side, but it feels cozy rather than cramped. I also think it's a great place to come with a group because the portions are perfect for sharing, making it easy to try a variety of dishes. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back. Next time, I'd love to explore more of the menu because there were so many dishes that caught my eye.

Parking can be tough which is a hindrance for us, but today we found a spot easily. When we left, the parking lot was bustling. We really enjoyed our poke bowl! The fish was fresh. Price was right for the amount of food that I got. $23.68 including tax. During my visit neither one of them checked on me, not even once. Passed by me at least twice and nothing. Patty was too busy being on her phone. Restaurant was empty with only 6 people inside including myself, and 2 to-go orders. Parking situation was inconvenient. Restaurant was super clean with beautiful decor, unique stools made of metal, and the restroom was somewhat clean. My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. But with 5 adults and a baby carriage, we had to wait for the right table because the somewhat small restaurant was full. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.
