Very good poke but they keep raising the prices and decreasing the food portions. Today I spent $21 plus tip for a four scoop bowl. The the woman putting my bowl together was super stingy on the base. She spread out the salad so it was literally a handful of salad. I asked for more greens and she said she would have to charge me for that. The price gouging is a little out of control now. For $21, I shouldn't have to go home and add salad to my bowl. I go mostly to the studio city location, so I'll probably route myself to that one in the future! The poke is fresh and I like the diversity of toppings you get here. read more

My first visit was on Friday, March 13 around 12:30 PM. It was my first time there and the menu felt a little overwhelming. The service was just okay and I wish someone had taken a moment to explain the options a bit more. I ordered the small two-fish bowl but wasn't told I could actually pick two different fish, so I ended up with two scoops of spicy tuna. That said... the food was so good that I couldn't stop thinking about it all weekend. So I came back today (March 15 around 5:30 PM) and Ari helped me -- and wow, what a difference. She was super friendly, patient, and took the time to walk me through the menu. She explained that I could mix fish, add toppings, and even get sauces on the side. It made the whole experience way better. Ari was an absolute rock star, especially considering how busy the place gets. Customer service like that really makes a difference. I'm local, so safe to say they've got a regular now. read more

Great go to poke spot in the valley! Good quality fresh fish and generous portions. It usually makes sense to just get a large financially, it's only a couple bucks more, but that ultimately depends on you and your hunger level. Large is $21 and you get 4 scoops of fish. You choose a base, 2 sides (crabmeat, seaweed salad, etc.), toppings (no limit which I love, but there are some toppings that cost extra like masago or avocado), sauce, and toppings at the end like furikake and crispy onion. I really liked my bowl! They were quite heavy handed with the crunchy toppings - the crispy onions and the crispy garlic, but overall I still enjoyed the meal. Filling and tasty! Parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day, there's a parking lot but it can fill up quickly. read more

I was in the area and decided to stop by for a quick dinner. Even though it's on Ventura blvd it has a parking lot which is very helpful. I walked inside and was greeted immediately. They have 3 tables inside so I was able to sit and eat which was nice. I went with a small which was two proteins and plenty of food! The serving sizes are great, the fish was fresh and the sides were unique and tasty! The yuzu ponzu had so much flavor and every bite was a delight. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often but if I'm in the area again I will definitely be back! read more

A solid spot for your poke cravings! Rejoice veggie friends, there are options for us (tofu). Load it on up with toppings and enjoy! I love mixing half rice, half greens and then loading up on everything and finishing it with sauces. There's really no way you can go wrong. It tastes good, fresh, and it's a good portion. read more

SO SO yummy! I don't live in the area. I live about 25 minutes away. This is one of our favorite poker spots and worth the drive 100%! The lady is working behind the counter are efficient and on top of it! They are very nice and do a great job at moving the line . I got two orders of the same thing. Both small and with three proteins. The small comes with two proteins, but I added one on. I got salmon, tuna, and albacore. I got half rice, half kale and salad. Less rice. The sauces I opted to mix in was the original poke sauce and the Yuzu miso sauce. OMG! Delicious! For my two sides I opted to get the crab salad and cucumbers. Mixed in with the proteins were cilantro, green onions, red onions, serrano peppers, cucumbers, and honestly, I forget what else I added lol. I asked to put the fried garlic and onions (in one container) on the side. I love love love that they fry their own onions and garlic! I've been to other places where they use the store-bought stuff and I won't go back to those places. I also got a side of their lemon cream (bomb) and spicy mayo. I brought a cooler with ice packs and put them on ice for my drive home. Our dinner was absolutely delicious! I freaking love this place. I wished they opened up in Porter Ranch! Customer service is nice. Food is delicious! No complaints. Sorry, why do you do that? Do you think I don't see the love? Why do you not put these beautiful lights on? Do you wanna go outside? Poke portions, just as many have mentioned, were quite plentiful, though one of my main food observations is that I asked for rice and salad base, and the rice portion was very much disproportionate to the salad that they provided me. It's not a complaint, but just something to keep in mind, if you ask for a half and half base combination. The vegetable and fish selection were pretty similar to most other poke places I have been to and it was about $16 for a small, which is 2 fish options. The service was fine, though I did arrive towards the evening time and one of the gals did seem quite snappy a bit. It's okay though, she was probably tired and just ready to go home! It was very clean inside and was glad to see there wasn't a long line at all. Customers were trickling in and out, and there is a pretty good amount of seats inside. Parking was not an issue and lots of cool other eateries and places to check out in the shopping center, if you have time or want to check out the other establishments nearby! read more

10 minutes after I ate the poke I started to get covered in rashes and getting hit flashes. I went to a doctor and they diagnosed me with m Scombroid poisoning. It's food poising that happens after eating improperly stored tuna. Be careful when you eat here. read more

Yay! What a wonderful discovery 8oz Poke was. I've actually known of 8oz for a while but never stopped in. Honestly the parking lot has always such a deterrent, but no more! We got our poke to go and it was perfect. Packaged well and traveled great. The fish was maybe the best I've had at any poke place. It was SO fresh. I had scallop, tuna and salmon. All of them were equally as delicious. Now I'm not a super big sauce person, so I got ponzu and it was a really nice simple addition. I got my fish over brown rice and added seaweed, cucumber, crab, ginger, masago, avocado and furikake. The portion was pretty big. The one thing I didn't love was that the avocado was like a scoop of guacamole. I would have preferred sliced avocado. The brown rice was a little undercooked perhaps, but still good. This might be my new go-to poke place! read more

Nothing bad about this place but nothing special either. Typically poke place, I feel like they have some interesting topping choices like the fried onion (which was so yummy), and some interesting sauces like the Lemon Cream (also very good) Not much options for fish and other toppings though. Price wise was typical for a poke place (expensive haha) Service wise they were very nice, and they had multiple workers who were fast! Location wise they do have seating inside which is nice, still a small place, they offer free water which is a plus! It's right next to a Starbucks too! I still think this place is worth a trip just for the fried onions haha. Overall I wouldn't make it my go to unfortunately. read more

Easily an above-average poke shop. I wasn't even craving poke when I first discovered this spot, but I instantly walked in when I saw photos of the crispy onion topping. It's probably one of the more distinctive features compared some other locations I've visited. ***Caution*** - the smell is pungent... so maybe have a breath mint after? When you just look at the price, it seems a bit expensive, but the quantity is well worth it. I ordered a medium bowl and it was more than satiating. Found myself full with an awkward amount left, so I finished the entire plate. I was wrestling with food coma for the next few hours. Quality of each ingredient is pretty solid. I don't think I experienced anything bad while eating the food. The only reason I took off a star is due to the environment. The interior seems a bit run down and I would not want to eat inside there again. It seemed gloomy and not a place to stay. There also aren't too many seats inside which makes me think the manager wants people to take their food and go. read more

I have been consistently going to 8oz for 5 years since I moved to LA. I started at the West Hollywood location when I lived closer, and now I live in studio city, but my husbands shop is in Sherman oaks so I go to both of the valley locations. I haven't had 8oz, let alone poke in a while and after going here the other day, it was so. Freaking. Good! There were few people in front of me but it went by super quick, the staff were all very nice and efficient, and the fish was perfection! This is my 3 poke spot in LA, and to be honest, I come to 8oz more often than any other place. I felt rushed when ordering. Then i got home and found a hair in my order. Smh. These employees need to wear hair nets or something better. I was looking forward to eating this now I'm disgusted. Yum!! The fish here is incredibly fresh. I got the salmon (probably my favorite), tuna, and albacore, and all three were excellent. What really stood out, though, were the generous portions. My fiancé and I are tired of overpriced poke places that load up on toppings and skimp on the actual fish. This place was the total opposite. There were also tons of toppings to choose from, so you can customize it exactly how you like it. Definitely our new go-to poke spot! read more

I came here yesterday between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm and I always love the Poke, it's fresh, it's quality and it's consistent ! Very disappointed in the atmosphere today, the moment I walked in, greeted by laughter from the employees. Ignored it bought my food sat down, the laughing would not stop. I could hear every employees personal business and abnoxious noise the entire time, I found it super unprofessional. I just wanted to eat my meal in peace but as soon as three other guests came in, they became quiet and greeted them and served them with a completely different attitude. Why could I not receive that same professional treatment and kindness ? Not coming back. read more

delicious poke in Sherman Oaks area! Fish was super fresh and the mix of house sauce with original poke sauce paired perfectly, however the stand out was definitely the crispy onions topping. it reminded me so much of the vietnamese dish banh tom, and so unlike any other fried onion ive had at other poke joints. would come back just for that. pricey but expected price for poke near LA, we found that a large poke bowl with a side of extra fish fulfilled 2 people. parking is not easy, restaurant is located in a small plaza with a parking lot but a good amount of the spots are reserved for other restaurants, we had to circle around a few times before we found one. overall still a great spot for poke in the valley :) read more

This place been getting worse and worse by the day. We used to go here a lot as it decent when they started but lately it been very mediocre. Fish is nir fresh at all, rice is very stale. The veggies look horrible as if they have been sitting out for days. The avocado looked all brown and black today, it was actually really disgusting. Everything just looks like it's been sitting out for days. Never going back as this was extremely disappointing. Not to mention the staff has been very rude. read more

Came here on a Thursday around 7 pm with 2 other people. The parking lot was nearly completely full but there is metered street parking as well. The employees didn't seem very happy to be there in the moment and since we were first timers, we stood by the side looking at the menu before ordering but felt pressured to start. Because of the vibe, we decided to get the food to-go and eat at home about 10 minutes away. I decided to get the large box (~$20) which comes with 4 scoops of protein. I got 2 scoops of salmon, 1 of scallop, and 1 of tuna. For the base, I got half white rice and half kale (my friends added more home cooked rice when we got home too). For the sides (you pick 2) I got seaweed salad and crab mix. There were plenty of toppings, sauces, and garnishes to get as well. The employees did answer my questions and gave me reasonable amounts so their attitude may have been because they were tired (we were about an hour away till closing). They werent rude at all but we felt uncomfortable making decisions and asking about the items. Overall it was a quick experience, we left within a few minutes. The food itself was delicious. I wouldn't get the kale again because it was cut into huge chunks that were difficult to eat, especially the large chunks of stalk. The quantity of everything was very generous. The fish was fresh and so were the other ingredients. The sauces I got (sriracha Mayo, wasabi Mayo, sriracha) and the crunchy garlic and crunchy onions added great flavor and texture. I would eat here again if I was around. Worth the price, quality, and quantity. read more

So as we barreled down the 101, I looked over at my wife, glanced in the rear view mirror at the kids and I said, "Who's Hungry?" Of course, we all know what was coming Next.... Finding us an In-N-Out!!! So my trusty Co-Pilot went right to work and found us one in Sherman Oaks. Like all In-N-Out's, no matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or what location you are at.... The drive-thru is INSANE!!!!! And the Sherman Oaks location is absolutely insanity. Cars wrapped through the parking lot, out the driveway, and stacked onto Moorpark St. It's an absolute Zoo! Thankfully for us, we knew Palm Springs would be waiting for us when we got there, but this is definitely not the location you want to mess with if you're in a hurry. Once we FINALLY got our food, it was game time! And let me tell ya, In-N-Out ALWAYS hits! As far as our next road trip, I think we're gonna find a better location that isn't as crazy! ---------------- And to all you youngsters just waiting around for that magic number to be called... Like, the kind of service where you actually feel welcomed and not rushed or awkward for asking questions. The staff was super patient and took the time to really explain the menu and walk me through all the different spice levels, which I appreciated so much. I had questions about the menu and especially about the spice levels, and instead of rushing me or giving short answers, they took the time to fully explain everything. They broke down what each heat level feels like, how intense it is, and even gave honest recommendations depending on spice tolerance. You could tell they actually care about making sure customers enjoy their food, not just pushing orders out. I ended up ordering the Kluckin Tenders and decided to go all in by trying every spice level they offer: No Heat, Kluckin Mild, Kluckin Hot, and Kluckin Fire. Starting with No Heat, i tried the og tender to see how it was alone without any spice because I'm quite the chicken tender connoisseur haha. I was honestly surprised by how flavorful it still was. The tenders were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned really well. Even without spice, nothing tasted bland or boring, which says a lot about the quality of the chicken and seasoning. Kluckin Mild was a nice step up. It had some heat, enough to let you know it's there without being overpowering. This felt like a perfect everyday option -- flavorful, balanced, and very easy to enjoy. Kluckin Hot is where the heat really starts to kick in. It definitely made me slow down, but I loved that the flavor was still there. It wasn't just spicy for the sake of being spicy. You could still taste the seasoning and the chicken, which is something a lot of places get wrong. And then there's Kluckin Fire. This one is no joke. It looks like it would absolutely obliterate my taste buds. It definitely looks scarier than it is! The heat builds fast and lingers, and the staff definitely wasn't exaggerating when they warned me about it! That being said, it's still well made. This flavor actually ended up being my favorite! If you're someone who actually enjoys serious spice, you'll appreciate this level. It's intense, but it feels intentional. I also have to talk about the sides! The coleslaw was actually really good. Fresh, super crunchy, and well balanced. Not overly mayo-heavy or soggy like a lot of places do it. It had just the right amount of creaminess that helped cool things down between bites, especially when working my way through the hotter spice levels. It paired perfectly with the tenders and was honestly a lifesaver once I got to Kluckin Hot and Kluckin Fire. The crinkle cut fries were another highlight. Super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The crinkle cut shape made them extra satisfying, and they held up really well even as I took my time eating. They weren't greasy or limp at all! Which is always a plus. Dipping them in their kluckin sauce was so addictive. (Absolutely must have this with your meal here) Seriously, can we please bottle this sauce?! Overall, this place just does everything right. Great food, real spice options, and customer service that makes you want to come back.
