Well I was craving poke so thought I'd try out this place that wasn't too far! It was really delicious. The medium allowed 3 options so I got albacore, tuna and salmon. You get up to 7 extra toppings. I wasn't happy that seaweed salad was $1.50 extra but I love it too much not to get. I thought the portion size overall was good for the price. This restaurant is located in a relatively new outdoor shopping center in North Hollywood below the Regal Movie Theatre. Parking is located across the street in the center's huge pay parking structure. I visited this Poke Bar with two others for the first time about 30 minutes before closing. The employees were welcoming, helpful and friendly and the food was fresh and tasty. Prices were reasonable. I would definitely visit again. read more

Rude employees, rushed my order. I thought, I can only get 1 mix in since she rush to asked me what sauce I wanted. So sadly I juts got cucumbers. Had 3 bowls, two of them were put in the bag and charge and handle to me before the 3rd one was made. My husband wanted soup, had to be charge separately. That's how rushed we were. Went to this poke place and it was the worst experience. Most of the staff that works at the NoHo West location are very unmotivated to work. They don't know how to follow customers to go orders. Poor customer service with an attitude rushing you what to order. Would not recommend to go if you want to have a bad day and have the owner tell you that you have the wrong location. read more

I Got a small bowl for about 15 dollars that includes 2 proteins. It's actually a lot of food for $15. You get a base and 2 proteins, and it fills up the entire plate. I struggled to finish the plate. I almost gave up, but I'm no quitter! I got white rice with shrimp and tuna and some good sides of pineapple, cucumbers, eel sauce, and spicy mayo, and it all blended great together. This spot is located below the Regal Theater in the NoHo Plaza area. Plenty of parking and plenty of stores open to keep you in the area for a bit. A lot of sitting space to just sit and enjoy your bowl. I quickly have become a new fan. Can't wait for my next poke run! read more

I'm a sucker for all things Poke and finding a spot that has quality fish, great portions and a variety of items to choose from can be difficult! Luckily I found Poke Bar in the new NOHO West plaza and this is easily my new spot to go to with everything from spicy tuna to their OG marinade and even scallop as a protein, along with great base options like noodles, rice or salad, the possibilities are endless. I had a poke bowl yesterday, half salmon and half spicy tuna . I ate it outside on the tables. At first I thought everything was fine until a few hours later I had severe pain in my stomach. I called the store and spoke to owner, and all he did was deny that any of problems were his. No apology and nothing, I ended throwing up the food and going to the hospital. The most disappointing thing was how the owner handled the situation. Denial for everything. Keep in mind the Poké was the only thing I had ate all day . read more

If there's one thing that's very important to me it's consistency. I have been here an additional 2 times since my review 10 days ago and I LOVE! For sure one of my favorite poke spots here in LA and I actually crave poke bar @noho west. The service is always so nice and welcoming. The food is delicious, the fish is very fresh (and a great selection of fish to choose from), and portions are perfect. Ordered through DoorDash, I got the BYOB poke bowl with spicy tuna and tuna. The rice was dry- definitely not fresh, the spicy tuna had a weird bitter taste like it came out of a can- also definitely not fresh, the rest was okay, cucumbers being the best part. I'm a poke lover and have tryd this location a couple times before and I liked it , had a bowl here today and immediately after started feeling stomach cramps , they worsened and then I got a fever , I also threw up , called to notify them I wanted to leave a report and all the manager said was , that it could definitely not have been because of their bowl , even though that was all I had that day ignorant to what I was saying and dismissive , he even said " aww well I hope to see you soon " after he did nothing for me , anyways very disappointing read more

This was my second time ever having Poké. I always see people get tuna but never tried it. There was a young lady and a young man behind the counter. I wish I would've remembered their names because they were wonderful. I explained I was new to poke and they were so helpful. I told her the above and she let me taste the tuna. I'm glad I did. This was a quick stop as I'm passing by so I didn't get to take pics but the inside was clean with some inside seating (you could also sit outside in the main courtyard) the staff was superb and the Bowl was delicious!! read more

Everything in the area is good and well-maintained. It's clean, organized, and generally pleasant to be in. However, the behavior of most of the workers is disappointing. Many of them come across as unfriendly, strange, and at times even aggressive, which makes the customer service feel almost nonexistent. Despite that, there is one worker I've noticed--usually on Fridays--who stands out in a very positive way. He is always polite, helpful, and genuinely kind, and he makes the whole experience much better. I don't remember his name, but he's truly the best part of the customer service there. Ordered from this location on DoorDash -- did the MAKE MY OWN POKE BOWL. I love poke SO much and was starving hungry -- i also ordered the miso soup for $2. Immediately i saw that it was heavy so i was so excited. HOWEVER -- the reason why this is a ONE STAR and i wish i could give it ZERO is because i got the Large (4 scoops of protein) with 3 scoops salmon and 1 scoop Scallop... It smelled weirdly fishy so i was like hmm this is odd BUT it is raw seafood so obviously it's going to have a scent of fish.. however immediately after eating it i was on the toilet for 2 hours flushing it out. this is super dangerous for a poke restaurant that only has fish i would think they would be extra cautious. Very disappointed i will never order from here again -- i asked for a refund IMMEDIATELY from DoorDash and they gave it to me. BE CAREFUL OR YOU'LL BE ON THE TOILET. read more

We recently visited Poke Bar and I was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the variety of base that they offer. The kale noodle looked like an appetizing option, but decided with their brown rice. It was very fluffy and enjoyable! Their fish is also pretty fresh. For coming in late at night with a few minutes before they close, their salmon was really good. Their servings are also very generous compared to other poke places, which is a great plus! Their spicy tuna is on the spicy side (had us asking for cups of water). The side option was a bit of a struggle for me since I don't eat crab and don't really like the cucumber salad or seaweed salad. I ended up getting cucumber salad anyway. Toppings were straight forward and loved that they had crunch onions/garlic. Overall a great find. Will be adding Poke Bar to our rotation. read more

When we went to celebrate his birthday, the general manager, Matthew, heard us talking about a cocktail we liked, and he made it for us on the house. I love when restaurants surprise and delight. We particularly like the salmon tartar, the Uni on crispy rice, the lobster noodles, and the candy bar dessert. It's nice to have an upscale Hawaiian option in town.

According to the restaurant's website, their name comes "from the Hawaiian saying, E Mālama Pono,…read morewhich means to take care of, also until we meet again." Though the staff was gracious and attentive while navigating a small space and a nearly full house, the kitchen still has some things of their own to take care of in order to live up to their full potential. The menu features an interesting and eclectic selection of Asian fusion dishes, and there were far more intriguing items than two of us could try on one visit -- still, nearly everything we ordered was somewhat lacking. We started off strong with drinks: My traditional Mai Tai had a nice flavor without being overly sweet; my wife's Sunset Sangria WAS fairly sweet, but that's how she likes her drinks, and she was very happy. One thing to note: their liquor license has only recently been approved, and their website still says they do not have a full bar -- they'd do themselves a favor by updating the website, as the fun drinks will be a draw. Okay, so drinks were good, but our starter of Garlic Naan with Tzatziki Sauce was disappointing. The bread was really pita, not naan, and there was no presence of garlic whatsoever. Basically, it was warm pita with a touch of salt, so not at all what we were expecting, and not what we would have ordered if we'd known what was coming. Still, the tzatziki sauce was flavorful and fresh. Would have gone well with garlic naan. For an entree, my wife ordered the Horseradish Crusted Mahi Mahi, which is plated with Pineapple Beurre Blanc, Blistered Tomatoes, Roasted Pineapple, Scallion Relish and Shoyu Syrup, and served with a side of white rice. This was a heavily layered dish that was far too sweet for me, but my wife quite liked the flavor. Underneath the many adornments, the fish was fresh and cooked to a very pleasing texture, and I might have enjoyed this in a more savory preparation. My own entree was the Malama Mochiko Chicken: crispy fried thigh meat with a Ponzu Shoyu and Tomato Ginger Sauce. The crispy batter had a pleasing crunch but very little taste; the Ponzu Shoyu had a deep, earthy flavor, but there was just too little of it served on the plate -- there needed to be much more clinging to the chicken, or the batter needed more punch, or both. The other sauce placed to the side, the Tomato Ginger, tasted mostly like a generic sweet chili dipping sauce, and I only used it once. So, yes, the crispy chicken could be great, but really needs a seasoning upgrade. I also ordered a side of the Macaroni Salad, because it's my favorite aspect of a Hawaiian plate lunch. Their version's macaroni was cooked to a spot-on texture, with just the right amount of al dente to hold up to the mayonnaise while still being primarily soft. The salad as a whole had the right creaminess (not too much mayo), but again lacked seasoning. I added some salt, which helped a bit, but it needed something else as well. So, I like the concept of the restaurant and the descriptions of many of the dishes. The creativity and ambition are appealing. But right now, the execution just doesn't bring these ideas to life. Perhaps the chef (described as mostly self-taught) would benefit from consultation with one or two of the many excellent Asian chefs in the city, and I say that without meaning any insult. I'm optimistic they'll goose the flavors if they try, and so to Malama Pono I say, E Malama Pono: until we meet again. PS. Having their valet priced $3 higher than the other restaurants with which they share the service is strange and makes a bad first impression.

There's a big list of traditional and house tiki cocktails but they don't even use crushed ice, the hallmark of tiki cocktails. They prefer payment in cash but include a 3% service fee on the bill to cover the credit card fee. It's nominal but when paying cash, need to take that into consideration because it's incorporated into the total. Love the decor and wish I could feel the same about everything else.

The owner is super friendly and accommodating. He came right out and took our order, gave us a spot to sit and hang out and proceeded to bring us some really tasty BBQ. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and in a delicious rub and sauce. The lemon pepper wings also came out in the sauce and were some of the best I've ever had. The truffle fries brought everything together. So good. This guy deserves his own restaurant or should set up shop at a brewery because the meal exceeded expectations. Give them a shot!

In the summer, this place can get pretty hot, but that is expected in the SFV. Aside from that, this place is a good spot for a quick lunch with quality.

We've been doing that for a few years now, so that should tell you something right there. Our order is fairly consistent: we each start with a mimosa that comes in a highball glass, so one is usually all we need. Next, we share an order of kimchi biscuits (you get two). So delicious! Packed full of kimchi, bacon and cheddar cheese, it's a nice combo of flavors that play well together. The interior is usually soft and warm, with a nice crunchy crust. Top that with a smatter of the cinnamon butter that it comes with...yum! Our choice of entree varies, anything from avocado toast, to their kale and seaweed salad or any of their other selections they have from their brunch/lunch menu. On this outing, my friend and I both opted for the bibimbap. I opted for the pork bulgogi while my friend got the chicken version. It comes with a generous amount of carrots, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts, and is topped with a runny, sunny side up egg that serves as an excellent sauce when you mix everything together, along with the gochujang sauce. We upgraded and got it with brown rice in the hot stone bowl. Worth it! The regular bibimbap is good, but when you mix in the crunchy crust that comes from the bottom of the stone bowl, you get an additional texture that makes the dish really stand out. The flavors already come together nicely, and the crunchy bits just enhance the experience. For dessert, we like to share the "lemon pie", which is actually a scoop of lemon gelato that comes in a glass that also includes graham crackers, topped with toasted marshmallows. A nice way to end the meal. And the staff! We usually either have Justin or Ann as our server, but everyone there is super friendly and helpful. They are consistently good at checking up on you and making sure you have everything you need. Just another 5 star reason of why we keep coming back!

I went into the restaurant and I really love the layout. There's white lights hanging all around the windows and the chairs and tables are set up in a way that makes you feel like you came to someone's house to have a lovely get together. Everything looks so beautiful! Staff is friendly greeting me with a friendly hello and I enjoyed watching them cutting the meats off the spots. My order was ready and I brought it home to eat. I orderd the chicken panini and I also wanted to try the mushroom fettuccine because that had popped up as popular. The chicken panini is wrapped in a soft warm pita bread, and the chicken inside is so absolutely flavorful. It came with fries which were perfectly seasoned, but a little too soft for me. I had half and then dove into the fettuccine. I must say, the mushroom fettuccine was the star of the show and it came with this really delicious bread that had basil and cheese in the middle!!!! It was soooo delicious! I'm so excited for dinner later to finish the other half of this!!! I definitely recommend Our Tasty Corner if you're in the area try it out!

She said it would take maybe 15-20 mins. I asked if she could bring out whatever was ready first like the fries, since our daughter was with us. She agreed and we got our fries, then the salad, panini and the pasta at the end. Fries were excellent - crispy and flavorful. Salad was tasty as was my panini. Pasta was good overall but nothing too impressive. But I will say I am pleasantly surprised and want to come back and try their Armenian pizza!
