    Deliciousness. Flavorful toppings..

Wow, Wow, and did I say WOW!?! Yesterday I told my son to bring something from this restaurant. I am SO surprised at myself that living so close to this 8oz Poke, being in this shopping center all 32 years of living in Studio City, wanting to try their food and finally got a chance to get my teeth into their flavorful, delicious, yummy Poke. I told my son to take photos of the place and he did. I ordered their large Poke with all the healthy meat & vegetables that you can think of. I chose white rice for my base and got :Ahi Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Tofu, Shrimp, Cucumber Salad, Avocado($0.50), Pickled Ginger, Green/Red onion, Corn ,and really fresh Cilantro garnished all around the large bowl. It came with 2 sauces. House sauce and Garlic Panzu sauce. One of the sauces had a little spice to it and it gave a good kick. Absolutely delicious! They have a lot of to go orders and the lady who helped my son was Karina. He said she was very sweet, kind, and helpful. Everything was balanced right. I even had some left overs for the following day. Great portion for the price.$24.15 including tax and tip. Place was clean, with gender neutral restroom and parking shared with other businesses. They also have another location in Sherman Oaks. Can't wait to try that one too.. Thank you Karina, management and 8oz Poke...

Stunning food and it was delicious! Great options and good for the price and the quality compared to other poke. So far it's my top 2 poke places in the valley!! Definitely coming back

they have salmon belly for poke! so good.

If you're looking for the best poke in LA, 8oz Poke in Studio City is it. I'm a huge poke fan and I've tried a lot of places, but this one is consistently on another level. Everything tastes fresh, the shop is always clean, and the quality is never hit-or-miss--it's excellent every single time. You can also tell the owner-chef really knows what they're doing (the sauces are amazing). My go-to order: * Base: half sushi rice + half mixed greens * Protein: salmon + spicytuna (or salmon only if you want extra buttery) * Toppings: avocado, cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, corn, onions, cilantro * Crunch: crispy onions + masago (so good) * Sauce combo: spicy mayo + ponzu (or shoyu/soy-based) * Finish: sesame seeds + a little extra sauce on the side I eat lunch here all the time and I've honestly never been disappointed. Highly recommend--this place deserves way more hype.

Pretty tasty poke. A little pricy but that's the going rate now. You follow a selection of base, proteins and side, and get unlimited toppings. Bathroom is nice and water is available. You can also order boba drinks from a tablet. Parking can get crowded in the same complex as Sprouts, Cava, Urbane Cafe and Ohana bbq.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food was nutritious and tasty, and I love that we can add kale salad to the base. There was no yellowtail for the protein, so that was a bummer. If they did have yellowtail, I would've gotten the medium where I chose 3 protein options. Service was quick and convenient! It's located inside a mall so there is plenty of parking, except you may have some trouble during the weekend/peak lunch time. Ambiance is clean and spacious. I'd come back here if I'm craving for poke again. There's one in Sherman Oaks and Studio City, yay!

Nothing beats poke in Hawaii, but this is easily the best local poke spot I've found. The freshness of the fish is outstanding and really makes every bite. The salad portion is a little small, but the quality more than makes up for it. They offer a great variety of delicious sauces, and the staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

This poke spot hooks it up with the portions and the fish quality is the best in the valley! Unique offerings, fast and easy service. Seating area was clean and overall I was happy with my visit here!

Probably one of the best poke I've ever had in LA. I got the spicy tuna and salmon large bowl to share with my husband and we were both satisfied by the end of our meal. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Salmon is buttery and they give great portions. Service was quick and there were lots of seating at 7pm on a weekend! Parking is ample since there's a Sprouts in the same plaza. Highly recommend!!

    Ginny Y.

A new Sprouts opened up in the same area, they share a parking lot. We went to Sprouts going in for groceries, but I think it's wise to avoid going into a grocery store hungry. We went to 8oz Poke because it was nearby and it sounded interesting. We walked in and were greeted immediately with a friendly smile. The staff was patient while looked over the menu and options. There's a lot to choose from which is great, with lots of topping options. It's a good size for a good price. And it was yummy! We were very pleased. The seating area was good, different options and it felt like a fast food place with sit down seats but it was still nice. Would come back again.

I usually get their medium bowl with 3 fish choices: half brown rice and half spring mix, with salmon, octopus, and scallop with garlic ponzu sauce. I usually add a miso soup with my poke order: great soup! It is very fresh and delicious, and it is probably my favorite poke place in the valley: I highly recommend to go and pick up or order via Postmates! Truly love that place

I think I…read morewas a little hesitant because I had never tried this style of Hawaiian cuisine before, but I'm so glad we finally came. The service was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. To start I really loved the yellowtail crispy rice. It was one of the best versions I've ever had. The spicy yellowtail was perfectly seasoned, the crispy rice had the ideal texture, and the sauce, ikura, and finishing touches brought everything together beautifully. I also loved that they offered a 50/50 option with Spam crispy rice since that's my husband's favorite, so we both got exactly what we wanted. The tuna poki featured excellent quality fish, although the sauce wasn't my personal favorite. My husband absolutely loved it, though. The dumplings were another highlight and ended up being his favorite dish of the night. You could tell they were made fresh in-house, and the peas added a really nice balance. My only note was that the sauce leaned a little too heavily on the coconut flavor for my taste. For our entrée, we ordered the pan-fried snapper. I completely forgot to take a photo before we started serving ourselves, but it was beautifully cooked. It reminded me a bit of bronzino with its delicate, flaky texture. The fish itself was fantastic, although, similar to a few other dishes, the sauce wasn't quite what I'm used to. The warm rice pudding was also really tasty. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough actual rice pudding compared to all of the toppings because the flavor was so good. For reference, I'm someone who really doesn't enjoy Thai food, while my husband loves it. This isn't Thai food at all, but some of the sauces had coconut-forward flavor profiles that reminded me of flavors I typically don't gravitate toward. Even with that, I still genuinely enjoyed every dish we ordered, which says a lot about how well everything was prepared. There were dishes I'd absolutely order again, and others I'd probably swap out next time simply because there were so many interesting options on the menu. I also appreciated that the menu had plenty of seafood options, which was perfect since I've been trying to eat more fish. Everything we ordered was fresh and high quality. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. It's on the smaller side, but it feels cozy rather than cramped. I also think it's a great place to come with a group because the portions are perfect for sharing, making it easy to try a variety of dishes. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back. Next time, I'd love to explore more of the menu because there were so many dishes that caught my eye.

I went to the NoHo location for years before it closed, and it's nice that the hotel location has parking available. She could have been more pleasant and friendly along with the other guy by the name of Alex. Both of them had poker faces. After kind of mumbling under her nose, she finally introduced me to the sizes of their bowls and I went with their large size bowl that looked more like medium size. Price was right for the amount of food that I got. $23.68 including tax. During my visit neither one of them checked on me, not even once. Passed by me at least twice and nothing. Patty was too busy being on her phone. Restaurant was empty with only 6 people inside including myself, and 2 to-go orders. Parking situation was inconvenient. Couldn't park in their small lot, so I parked on the street. Food: for my base, I got white rice, along with Spicy Tuna, Crab meat, Shrimp, & Albarcore. For my sides/veggies, I got Edamame, Tofu, Cilantro, Corn,, Avocado--a small scoop for extra charge($1.59), green onions, Cucumber, Ginger, and wanted a sweet flavor on top, so I asked her to add some Mandarin. Food was above and beyond fresh, flavorful and delicious!! They also had sweets. Some Guava cookies with different types of nuts in them. No Thank you. Don't care much about Guava. Also, had small sizes of Ice Cream for ($3.50). 2 refrigerated drinks. Both full. Ambiance was great in every way. Fine music playing by Sade and other great artists that I grew up listening to. Restaurant was super clean with beautiful decor, unique stools made of metal, and the restroom was somewhat clean. The left side of the sink, there were lots of paper towels, because of the floor being wet, and the toilet wasn't flushed. Also, had cute decor inside the bathroom. That's all I have to say about yesterday's experience that I had at this Poke place. They also have 5 different locations nationwide. Burbank,Eagle Rock, La Canada, Flintridge, Rancho Palos Verdes and of course the one in Studio City. Will definitely return again soon. I just hope that management will have a talk with their employees to have a proper, better customer service! Thank you. Hopefully next time my rating will be 5 SOLID stars! Established back in 2015.

Great vegan options too for my friend who is Vegan and usually gets a salad and fries ha.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.
