Pretty tasty poke. A little pricy but that's the going rate now. You follow a selection of base, proteins and side, and get unlimited toppings. Bathroom is nice and water is available. You can also order boba drinks from a tablet. Parking can get crowded in the same complex as Sprouts, Cava, Urbane Cafe and Ohana bbq.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food was nutritious and tasty, and I love that we can add kale salad to the base. There was no yellowtail for the protein, so that was a bummer. If they did have yellowtail, I would've gotten the medium where I chose 3 protein options. Service was quick and convenient! It's located inside a mall so there is plenty of parking, except you may have some trouble during the weekend/peak lunch time. Ambiance is clean and spacious. I'd come back here if I'm craving for poke again. There's one in Sherman Oaks and Studio City, yay!

This poke spot hooks it up with the portions and the fish quality is the best in the valley! Unique offerings, fast and easy service. Seating area was clean and overall I was happy with my visit here!

Probably one of the best poke I've ever had in LA. I got the spicy tuna and salmon large bowl to share with my husband and we were both satisfied by the end of our meal. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Salmon is buttery and they give great portions. Service was quick and there were lots of seating at 7pm on a weekend! Parking is ample since there's a Sprouts in the same plaza. Highly recommend!!

A new Sprouts opened up in the same area, they share a parking lot. We went to Sprouts going in for groceries, but I think it's wise to avoid going into a grocery store hungry. We went to 8oz Poke because it was nearby and it sounded interesting. We walked in and were greeted immediately with a friendly smile. The staff was patient while looked over the menu and options. There's a lot to choose from which is great, with lots of topping options. It's a good size for a good price. And it was yummy! We were very pleased. The seating area was good, different options and it felt like a fast food place with sit down seats but it was still nice. Would come back again.

Decent poke place in Studio City, nothing too special or anything. Masago is an extra $1 charge while avocado is an extra $0.50 charge. I feel like masago isn't usually extra charge at other places. It's a poke staple. The bowls are slightly pricier than other places that I've been to in the LA area. I don't think the fish scoops are a bigger size either. I wish the marinade on the fish had a stronger flavor, or that they spent more time dousing it in the sauces. Fish was fresh and high-quality. There were a decent variety of toppings for the bowl (cucumber, onion, cilantro, green onion, pineapple, etc).

8oz Poke has become my favorite poke spot in the valley. The portions, pricing, and quality are incredible, while offering a variety of healthy vegetables and sides to make your bowl perfect. The owner is always very kind and even knows my order pretty well at this point, noting even the smallest differences if I switch something up in my bowl from time to time. Definitely a lovely place to stop and have lunch or dinner, plus the parking is usually pretty ample.

I usually get their medium bowl with 3 fish choices: half brown rice and half spring mix, with salmon, octopus, and scallop with garlic ponzu sauce. I usually add a miso soup with my poke order: great soup! It is very fresh and delicious, and it is probably my favorite poke place in the valley: I highly recommend to go and pick up or order via Postmates! Truly love that place

The workers were very friendly. I was greeted with a hello and instructed on how to order in a very friendly manner. The food was amazing. A great value for the amount of fish served. The bowl tasted very fresh and delicious. The ambiance was decent. Felt a little fast foody but better than 99% of fast food restaurants. If you're looking to get really full from a poke bowl for $21, and there's plenty of fish pieces, then this is a great spot. I highly recommend this restaurant as a bang for the buck type of place. I would definitely come back again.

I ordered the grilled chicken poke bowl ($16). It did have a lot of salt which I didn't like, but it tasted very good. The rice was $3 what a great bargain, I got extra rice and the poke bowl that contained seaweed, grilled chicken, edamame, and green onions. It had soy sauce in it which I found to be excessive and overpowered the taste of the chicken to some degree. The ambiance is extraordinary, the universal city walk of immaculate as it was 30 years ago. The King Kong, the lights, neon colors at night and crowded environment made me feel energetic and happy. The food was filling for what I paid, I just wish the chicken wasn't so salty although I normally don't eat salty foods like the other people around me. I'm sure they consumed significantly more salt than I do due to my IBS condition. Overall, of the selective places around, I like this place due to its healthy selection and nature of fish and rice. A staple for high protein and good carbs. Although you can substitute the rice for salad. It won't fill you up. After, I decided to go get yogurt-land to help with digestion. The sashimi poke of salmon and tuna made me hesitant to order due to the chance of parasitic worms or indigestion issues with IBS. I recommend this place if you want to maintain a fit figure. If not, KFC is next door.

In previous visits to this restaurant, I noticed other diners being offered coffee or tea as closing time approached, even receiving those hot beverages in "to go" cups since it was near closing. I've dined here about 5 times over the years, and I had never been offered a coffee or tea toward the end of dinner, and certainly not "to go." Seeing other diners with coffee and tea on my last visit, I asked my server at the end of the night, and I was told the hot beverage station was already closed for the night. Michael was the first to offer me coffee or tea, and I requested a "to go" cup, which he brought. Through dinner, he watched my Diet Coke and brought a refill even without my having to ask. The busboys replaced used silverware, which has also never happened for me here. They were quick to remove used dishes and seafood shell trays. I know these services seem basic, but I usually do not receive good service at buffets, so it's worth highlighting. Michael's service was by far the best, most personable, and most thoughtful service I've had at this restaurant. He is a real standout. This seafood buffet is unique in Los Angeles, as other hotel buffets closed in the COVID Era. I'm happy this one is still around to give a taste of a small-scale Vegas-style buffet. Yes, the price is really high, and the food is not perfect, but it's a buffet. You can't expect perfection at a buffet. Though the lobster was nowhere near as impressive as fresh lobster in Maine, it was fresher and less dried out than the lobster I've had at buffets in Vegas (Caesars Palace, Wynn). The crab was very good, and I also recommend the top notch mashed potatoes and very solid pork belly (there are two varieties) and prime rib. Also this buffet is a great place to get your fill of oysters on the half shell. Oddly, they've started closing down the ice cream station before dinner time is over on my last two visits. Given the high price, I don't think the food is good enough to come multiple times a year, but every once in a while, it's a fun experience, especially with a server like Michael. Cafe Sierra remains a reliable stop in LA, and I hope it continues to stick around.

If nothing else, I always make an effort to squeeze in at least one new restaurant in their lineup. For one, I get to sample what each restaurant considers to be their most popular menu items or exclusive dishes. Also, it's often a tasting menu that offers a little bit more. More like a foodie's bonus prize, just for participating. Yakumi looked good this time around. Probably because I'd eat sushi any day/every day, if I could. And I was able to find a quick prix fixe style sushi solution without roshambeau'ing with myself for hours, deciding on what to eat. YAKUMI BOX + THE DineLA MENU On the regular menu, the Yakima Box is $29 and no drink's included. During DineLA week, this filling lunch choice was just $25 and came with a shōchū cocktail as a refreshing bonus. It included: + Sunomono or seaweed salad + 1 piece of tuna sushi + 2 pieces each of yellowtail, salmon, and albacore topped with fried shallots (Note: It's not the fresh green scallions with ponzu sauce recipe) + A choice of 2 classic rolls like 2-piece baked crab roll, or 4-pieces of yellowtail jalapeño, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, avocado, and California roll (Note: The crab roll was buttery and tasty; the spicy tuna was standard) + My bonus drink: Mango Lychee Shochu The fish was fresh, the mango lychee cocktail was refreshing. Both were on the lighter side and pleasant for a lunchtime meal. INDOOR SEATING + OUTDOOR PATIO Sit inside or outside? To settle the debate, I did both while waiting for my lunch date to arrive. The warm, sunny patio was lovely, but there are only a few spots in the shade during certain times of the day, even with the awning drawn. Indoors, it's quaint and mirrors the koi fish artwork that graces the corner of the restaurant's exterior. It adds an authentic seafood-centric, Japanese charm to the ambiance. Service was prompt, although it wasn't a very busy time. Just across the street at Alfred Coffee, however, the second wave of a caffeine rush hour--needing their daily fix--rolled by as we paid.
