Bento box
Kostantina O.

First impression- slightly tucked away with a cute outdoor seating area Parking- plenty of street parking all around! Food - appetizer - garlic edamame- according to my friend it was great! - main - nigiri sushi mix- great quality fish and I added a salmon roll on the side - bento box with chicken teriyaki and a California roll - super filling * both came with miso soup slightly salty so we added some ginger to balance it out! Service- friendly and genuinely happy to be there Overall- I'd definitely come back! This is a great local spot that didn't have a wait time. We both loved our time there.

Toro! Delicious!

I'm giving this place 5 stars for the convenience, service and the Toro! Great location for lunch for folks working at the studio across the street. It wasn't too packed for and our server was very sweet. We ordered a few specialty rolls. All of them were pretty good (although a couple of the shrimp and langostino a weren't fully cleaned. The standout was toro nigiri special. It was topped with caviar and truffle and was buttery and delicious! I will definitely be back for that! Prices were typical for a sushi place in the area but not too bad. Totall was around $100 plus tip for two people. It does close at 2:15pm so you need to put in your orders by 2pm and it reopens again for dinner at 5pm like most places around here.

Angie was amazing! I love Studio City Sushi and I have never been served by her before, but it was a great experience. It was my friend's birthday and she honored it with a vanilla ice cream. The food was great. The service was great would recommend!

Albacore and spicy tuna hand roll with soy paper

Went for the first time after a suggestion from a friend. Food was fresh, staff was friendly, and prices were reasonable compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. We went on a Friday about 40 minutes before they closed. We were able to find parking in the neighborhood easily. We just wanted to be quick as to not overstay knowing they closed soon. We sat inside and it was a little warm and we were in tank tops. Our waiter was great. However there was a little hiccup with the lady who brought our order out. We specifically clarified that she was bringing the right dish. She assured us it was, it turned out not to be after all. It eventually was fixed by our waiter but they should be checking to make sure the order is accurate. It didn't apply here but I have a guest with an allergy that a mistake could be a bug problem. Would come back again. I also do appreciate they had soy paper options

Don't judge a book by its cover! Studio City's Sushi Row is packed with restaurants competing to serve you the best sushi. From the very elegant to the most casual, Studio Sushi is a low-key, relaxed spot offering fresh sashimi, sushi, rolls, cooked dishes, udon and Bento boxes that impress! Located on a prime corner with indoor and outdoor covered patio seating, the main attraction-- as it should be-- is the sushi! They have a decent selection of beer, sake, and wine, but I wasn't expecting to be so impressed with their sashimi options. My go-to test for sushi restaurants is always the toro or salmon. I loved their salmon sushi so much that we ordered the chef's special spicy salmon hand roll. It was jam-packed with salmon, crispy rice, jalapeño, and avocado. This was, without a doubt, the best spicy salmon hand roll I have ever had. The yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, crispy fried onion, cilantro, and ponzu was absolutely scrumptious. I was especially excited to try the Sasha Roll-- spicy salmon, jalapeño, crispy onion, garlic chili oil, sesame oil, green onion, avocado, sesame seeds, and rock shrimp tempura tossed in lemon chili mayo, all wrapped in rice paper. With such incredible ingredients, I was hoping to be blown away. However, the taste was just average.

Is this low key my new sushi spot? Yes. Am I gonna try gate keep this spot for myself? I wish. But they deserve all the business! Obvi this spot is well known for many but for me I was always curious when in and around the neighborhood. Thank god I finally gave it a shot! All the dishes were fantastic. We got the miso soup, crispy rice with spicy tuna. Moved on to the cbs roll and the studio roll (THAT TRUFFLE THO) and finished with the hand roll mix that we devoured and unfortunately didn't get a pic of (blue crab, yellow tail and my fav the shrimp tempura and avocado). Service was so friendly and attentive. Ambiance is cozy and casual. Pro tip: call in advance to put your name down for the waitlist. Took about 20 mins for a table but no biggie! It was worth it!! 10/10 will be back and will not gate keep I PROMISE.

CBS Roll

Absolutely amazing sushi! It's on the pricier side, but you pay for the quality! The fish was incredibly fresh, and each roll had a unique, delicious flavor. We loved the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the CBS roll--flavorful and perfectly balanced. The staff were kind and welcoming, and Kwyn was especially helpful and attentive throughout our visit. You can really tell they care about quality and presentation here. A great spot for anyone who loves high-quality sushi. WE LOVE IT HERE and can't wait to come back!

A neighborhood gem! My husband and I dine-in and order takeout from here ALL the time. It's one of our favorite spots. The sushi is always fresh and delicious and everything we've tried has been amazing. The staff is also very friendly and attentive.

Good sushi, but bring your patience. Came here because I kept hearing great things, and the food honestly was really good once it finally showed up. Super fresh fish and solid flavor combos. BUT... it took forever to get our food. Not sure if they were understaffed or just backed up in the kitchen, but it was pretty crowded when we went last week so I can't blame them. The vibe is cool, kind of intimate, and the staff was really nice. I'll be back.

Always reliable, friendly, fast. So much comp in the area & you may miss the spot, outside is not updated but worth the trip. Pricing has gone up but still cheaper than other nearby sushi restaurants, and the portions are not as large as other places, but the location, hospitality & flavors are still simple & consistently great. Vegetable gyoza, Crispy rice spicy yellowtail & Black sea bream are amazing.

I couldn't be more impressed with this subtley hidden restaurant behind little Ventura Boulevard. The food was spectacular to say the least. We got the CBS roll. (SUPERB!) Blue Crab & Scallop roll (Great!) Then they have a handmade handroll deal of 3x rolls for $16. We couldn't resist so we got to choose from yellowtail, salmon, albacore, etc. The service was impeccable. The property was pristine. The parking is the only one you have to prepare for as it has limited parking in the lot and in the neighborhood. But I'm still a fan of this place!

The place is located in a small unassuming strip mall, but we had no problem finding parking in the lot and the inside was surprisingly nicely lit, beautiful, and clean. We opted to sit at the sushi bar for the full experience. For $80 the fish was fresh, presented well with no overly complicated flavors or garnishes needed. The service from both the sushi chefs and the server was great, and I left decently full. I particularly loved the hotate, or jumbo scallop, which was tender and sweet. I don't come to the Studio City area often but if I ever do I will have an excuse to come back!

For the location and price point, it just didn't really add up. I also wasn't obsessed with the service. Things didn't feel very seamless. We sat at the bar and had noticeable gaps between each dish. We'd finish a roll and find ourselves waiting and wondering when the next item would come out. I'm totally fine with courses coming out one at a time, but if that's the approach, the pacing should be much tighter. I left feeling like there's no real reason to come back, especially with so many other sushi spots nearby that better suit my taste.

Every course was thoughtful and beautifully executed, and the quality honestly rivaled (if not surpassed) what we've had in Japan. The space is small and understated, which made it feel even more special. We came back to try the regular menu, and while it was still good, it didn't quite hit the same level. Omakase is definitely the way to go here.

The quality of the sushi is amazing. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the chefs are not only talented but also genuinely friendly. Sitting at the bar is an experience in itself--you can really see the care and skill that goes into each piece. We've honestly become addicted and keep going back. The yellowtail and albacore literally melt in your mouth. Halibut is usually a little tougher compared to other fish, but here it was the softest I've ever had. The black cod nigiri is also a must--so rich and delicious. I also love their spicy mayo. Take my advice and order a real crab spicy tuna hand roll with avocado and cucumber--it's next level. And if you ask, they have real wasabi, which makes a big difference. If you're into high-quality sushi, this place is absolutely worth it.

It is a pretty small place and not loud which we enjoyed. Our server was sweet and attentive. She noticed that I was struggling to figure out where to put my purse and she directed me to the hook under the bar. Our food was amazing. Each item was carefully curated so that it highlights the fish and brings out the best flavors. Our chef was very nice and had great recommendations. He recommended the tuna cheek and it ended up being our favorite the entire night. The cuts were very fresh, buttery, and melts in your mouth. They also have A5 wagyu. Overall amazing. It is pretty pricey but theres a reason for it. It's high quality, well curated pieces and made fresh. The only issue I had was the chopsticks. I was expecting a better one. It had a lot of rough uneven edges and very splintery. I got a splinter on my hand but thankfully not in my mouth but i was very careful the rest of the ni as I could feel the wood pieces.

It was impressive, unique, and incredibly delicious. After that experience, I remembered it as an outstanding restaurant and wanted to come back regularly. Last week , I decided to revisit and relive that experience. Unfortunately, I left deeply disappointed. The restaurant is still expensive, but the quality and taste are no longer what they used to be. We ordered a variety of sushi--overall, they were okay, but nothing that created a "wow" effect. The biggest letdown was the albacore with truffle. In all the sushi restaurants I've visited, I've never seen truffle presented like this. We waited quite a long time for the dish, and when it finally arrived, I honestly thought there had been a mistake and that it wasn't our order. I even asked the server to confirm, and they assured me it was correct. The dish cost $44, and it was absolutely not worth it. The truffle had no aroma or flavor--it looked more like some kind of brown substance, as if it had been sitting somewhere in the kitchen for months before being shaved onto the dish and served as "truffle." Very disappointing. I was really hoping to rediscover the place I once loved and return on a regular basis, but after this experience, I won't be coming back.

First time at Leona's, and I have mixed feelings. The venue is lovely, with multiple rooms of…read morevarying styles. The room with the cocktail bar (and windows open to a patio) has the most energy, with full tables and a nice, festive buzz. The middle section has a quieter, more romantic feel, though it seemed equally busy. We, however, had asked to sit at the sushi bar, and in the case of Leona's it's the loneliest space in the place. We were the only customers, with one or two other occupied tables nearby. This was clearly a bad decision on our part, but the hostess might have suggested we'd have a better time of it elsewhere. We'd have likely had better service, too. Our server was friendly enough, but went MIA a good deal of the time (we were her only customers in this room). The sushi chef was nice, but slammed with orders, though he did make ours without much wait. There is a full bar, so many cocktail options on top of wine and beer, but the sake list is a bit silly: mostly high-priced 720ml bottles, and very few small options. The food was also a tad hit or miss. Toro sushi was top notch and very flavorful; Albacore Sashimi with pico de gallo and crispy onions was also fresh as could be, and very satisfying. Truffle Butter Edamame had a nice, earthy flavor, and Ankimo sushi tasted especially fresh, with a rich and distinctive flavor. Less inspired was the Corn Tempura, which was very bland; the accompanying spicy mayo had very little spice, and seemed wrong regardless. We requested traditional tempura sauce, and this version likewise disappointed, being bland and a bit too thin, much more like a broth. Our final selection, the Salmon Arale Roll (tempura white fish and asparagus inside with salmon and avocado on top plus crispy rice and chili oil), was, again, dull and bland despite the number of ingredients. We didn't even finish it. So, was I blown away? No. Would I return? Yes. But I'll sit in the bar room, and I'll stick to sushi or sashimi. I'm optimistic that my next visit will hit better notes.
