I wanna say the service was 5 stars but the value was 3 stars and that's how u came up with 4 stars. Super small, terrible parking a bit pricey but good quality. I'd rate this a 5 star for the food but the portion was incredibly small for the price. I get it. It's Hollywood and it's flashy and in a populated area but it's very expensive for a family to go here. It's a perfect date night spot and great splurge. Enjoy.

Part of the $150 omakase. Left to right: red snapper, I forget, yellow tail belly, and albacore.

Second time getting the $150 omakase here and I am not disappointed! The fish quality is superior here. I've never had anything better than this other than sushi straight from a fish market in Japan. Service is great and all the food tastes great, they're so good that I even enjoyed stuff I normally hate eating such as roe.

Amazing service and really fresh fish! There was ample street parking at the time I came, and I was able to get a spot right in front of the restaurant. To be honest, I think the roll I tried was a bit overpriced for the quality even though it was delicious.

I don't say this lightly--Sushi Tomoki is seriously impressive. I try not to compare because I love Yume Sushi, but if I had to, it's on that level... if not better. The quality of the sushi is amazing. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the chefs are not only talented but also genuinely friendly. Sitting at the bar is an experience in itself--you can really see the care and skill that goes into each piece. We've honestly become addicted and keep going back. The yellowtail and albacore literally melt in your mouth. Halibut is usually a little tougher compared to other fish, but here it was the softest I've ever had. The black cod nigiri is also a must--so rich and delicious. I also love their spicy mayo. Take my advice and order a real crab spicy tuna hand roll with avocado and cucumber--it's next level. And if you ask, they have real wasabi, which makes a big difference. If you're into high-quality sushi, this place is absolutely worth it.

Terrible experience with the waitress who chased after my friend and I for a tip and asking us to leave one! Ridiculous and embarrassing for everyone involved

Came in with a friend for a rushed dinner because we were told we can be seated if we leave by 8:30 which was at 7:45 .. we agreed ... after enjoying some great fresh sushi the lady that took our payment chased us out the door asking if we are going to tip?? This is a first for me and won't be returning to a place that leaves tipping optional but has the audacity to ask for it at the end! Ridiculous

Had a wonderful time with my cousins last night at Sushi Tomoki. It was my first time here but they have been here many times and it's one of their favorite spots in the valley. Saturday night, very busy and loud but the ambiance was great. So cheerful and fun. The hostess whose was also our waitress was amazing. Very friendly and helpful and attentive. Everyone was amazing here. Anyways now the rolls. We ordered their special rolls and I loved them all. Fresh, delicious and fun to eat. They cut the rolls into smaller pieces than other places. The sauces were good also. I loved the yuzu ponzu roll. The crispy rice tuna was also one of my favorites. Overall a great place to meet up with friends or have family dinners.

Came here on a weekday evening for dinner with a friend. Parking on Cahuenga is a bit tricky; there's metered street parking as well as metered and free parking on the side streets of Tomoki but you'd have to walk a bit to get to the restaurant. We had no reservation and were able to be seated immediately and service was quick and polite. Dragon roll 4/5, okay so I'll admit my eyebrow raised at the price when seeing this as just a roll on the menu but this actually comes w a lot of rolls so imo it's a good value! I felt like the fish was fresh and melted in my mouth but that there was something missing. This did come with some sort of orange sauce on top that I think would benefit from adding some tanginess such as some spice?? Rainbow roll 3.5/5, my friend got this and said it was just an average rainbow roll, nothing wildly special

We met a friend for lunch and what a great recommendation and experience! This place was hopping and the service was great! The menu isn't as expansive enough that you get overwhelmed BUT has enough options that there was something for everyone. I opted for one of the pre-created meals and it was so good! They bring out each plate as it is ready and I thought each round would never end! Definitely worth trying and when in the area again, we will be back! Thanks!

A great option for sushi in the area! I recommend the truffle halibut nigiri, crispy rice spicy tuna, and the yuzu ponzu roll. The rolls are big, and this specific roll was 12 pieces, which I believe is the case for all signature rolls. They are known for their rolls and nigiri! I would definitely make a reservation, especially for a Saturday night, as it was busy until I left around 9! The service was a bit slow, but overall a great experience! Next time I would sit at the sushi bar seems like a fun experience to sit at the sushi bar.

There was definitely a sense of welcome when you walk in the door of Sushi Tomoki. It felt like everyone stopped what they were doing to say welcome in unison. There are three omakase options, but we decided to choose our own adventure. Their spicy tuna crispy rice was only two pieces, but they were generously sized. Tasted delicious and fresh, but could have had a hint more spice to them. Maybe a jalapeño slice. We ordered one cut roll (the dragon) and I was stunned to see how large it was. Plenty to share and tasted really fresh. The cucumber added a nice crunch. We ordered a bunch of different two piece sushi options to try as much as we could. The two standouts were the black cod and the wagyu. The unagi was also great, but we agreed that it could use a little more sauce. Definitely recommend making a reservation. And parking was a little challenging. There is a small lot, but on busy nights the street parking was scarce. So make sure to give yourself some extra time. Restaurant itself was small and intimate, but you didn't feel like everyone was on top of you. All of the servers were super nice and attentive!

Here's the proof that I want her yesterday

I ate at Sushi Tomoki yesterday and a few hours later that night I started throwing up repeatedly and my stomach felt really off. The timing makes me concerned that something I ate there may have caused it. I understand things can happen, but when it comes to sushi and raw fish, freshness and food safety are extremely important. Getting that sick just a few hours after eating there was pretty alarming. I'm sharing this so the restaurant is aware and hopefully looks into their food handling and food quality. If the restaurant would like to reach out to me to discuss this, I would be open to it.

Had to say I was kind of disappointed by this place. The sushis are at most mediocre and definitely not up to the $150 price tier expectation. Fish tastes somewhat fresh but bland. The truffle tastes bland. The ikura however is too salty. You taste everything but they don't blend together well. But most importantly, the chef's nails look dirty and it grossed me out. I understand that if one's nails are too short to clean but it really is a vibe killer if you're touching all the raw food. Won't come again.

Parking is pretty difficult, and valet is $5. I can easily see the parking lot getting gridlocked on a busy day. I sampled a few of their gelato flavors, including the jasmine lychee and soy sauce. Both were okay, but I just wasn't in the mood for either of them today. I ended up getting the Pandan Toast to try. The pandan flavor was really good--not too grassy and didn't taste too artificial. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

So we decided to come here for coffee or tea and ended up having a really nice time. I used to come here quite often about four years ago. Back then, I really liked their Einspänner and ordered it several times. But the last time I came, I thought it was way too sweet, so I hadn't been back since. It had actually been a REALLY long time since I last visited. And when I used to come here four years ago, I always came in the morning or around lunchtime. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

The barista was super helpful with explaining what each drink was, didn't steer us in any direction though. The Houjicha shaved ice was the standout. Houjicha is a toasted green tea, and the flavor is a little difficult to describe--it has a warm, grainy, almost wheat-like taste that's very different from traditional green tea. At first, it can seem like an unusual flavor, but don't give up on it. Once you add the syrup they serve on the side and keep eating, it really grows on you. It somehow gets better with every bite, and before you know it, you can't stop eating it. The Iced Brown Sugar Miso Latte wasn't exactly what I was in the mood for, but it was still well made. It had a nice balance of umami and sweetness without either flavor overpowering the other. While it wasn't my personal favorite, I'd still recommend it if you're looking to try something a little different. Overall, Anko is a great spot if you're looking for unique Japanese-inspired desserts and drinks in a calm, beautifully designed space.
