Great ambiance and the shared bar seating creates a fun sense of community. Prefer a table? Go to their sister restaurant Sugarfish.

KazuNori is hands down one of my favorite places to eat. I go about twice a week whenever I can. Even while pregnant I still occasionally indulge in one of their raw hand rolls because I trust the quality of their fish that much. After talking with the people who run the business and learning about where they source their fish, plus seeing the quality firsthand every time I visit, it's very clear they take their ingredients seriously. Yes, sometimes there's a line, but don't let that discourage you. They run the place incredibly efficiently. The staff does an amazing job of moving people in and out quickly while still making the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable, not rushed at all. Everyone working there is locked in and focused but also very friendly and helpful. You can tell the whole team cares about what they're doing. I highly recommend the 5 roll special. It's a great value and a perfect way to experience a variety of their hand rolls. They're also very accommodating and will let you swap out one of the rolls if you prefer something else, which I really appreciate. The ambiance is also great. During the day you can't really see it as much from photos, but at night it's a whole vibe. I also love how everyone sits together at the bar. It brings a sense of community that you don't get at most restaurants. If you're looking for more of a traditional table setting, you can always go to their sister restaurant Sugarfish. You can get a lot of the same items there plus even more options. Overall the quality is amazing and the prices are actually a little more affordable than a lot of the other hand roll spots I've tried in the area. Highly recommend.

Came here spontaneously and was surprisingly seated within 15 min even with a good amount of people in line. Service was phenomenal, all the staff were very attentive and kind. The food was also amazing. It was very simple and clean tasting. Enjoyed the quality of the fish. Will definitely be coming back!

16-piece Set - 2 orders - both AMAZING!

My son placed our KazuNori order (he always finds the best things), and I jumped right in as his unofficial wingman. We got the 16-piece Lobster Set--Toro, Cucumber, Crab, and Lobster--plus a Split Cut Roll with Yellowtail. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. What really struck me was the bento-style presentation. With a Japanese mother, Japanese food and its sense of order, beauty, and intention were woven into my upbringing, so presentation has always held equal weight to flavor. KazuNori honors that beautifully. The order arrived neat, balanced, and thoughtfully arranged--exactly the feeling great Japanese food should evoke. Opening it felt genuinely joyful. Everything tasted clean, bright, and high quality. Condiments, utensils, details--nothing missing, nothing overlooked. It's the kind of sushi takeout you finish and immediately think, "Okay... should we order more?" Studio City has a lot of sushi options, but KazuNori already feels like a favorite.

I'd been hearing so much hype about this spot for years, so I had to check it out--and now I get it! I stopped in for lunch and was impressed by their super fresh handrolls at a very affordable price. I tried the Nozie (Omakase), which is basically chef's choice (6 rolls for $30). The staff mentioned it's usually consistent but can vary depending on which special fish the chef is excited about that day. I enjoyed every roll I tried with the lobster being my favorite. There was a bit of a hiccup during my visit--the system glitched, and after receiving our first roll, we sat for about 20 minutes before they came by to ask if we wanted the check. When we explained that we had only received one roll, the manager immediately apologized and made it right by offering us each a complimentary sashimi plate. The sashimi was fantastic: Salmon: My favorite! It came with a soy sauce that's richer and tastier than the standard sauce at the bar. Yellowtail: Also delicious, with a sweeter sauce. Pro tip: Order the salmon sashimi first, then save the sauce to dip your handrolls in--it's next level. Parking: Be prepared--parking is really tight, so plan ahead. Seating: The interior only has about 25 bar stools, so it's definitely not ideal for large groups. Overall, I'd definitely come back for lunch. For dinner, I might avoid it due to the limited seating and tough parking, as I imagine it gets packed quickly.

To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with KazuNori. After all the hype and years of hearing about it, finally trying it fell really short. Nothing about the experience felt particularly authentic, the seaweed was mediocre, the fish was just okay, and most of the hand rolls ranged from disappointing to decent at best. There wasn't a single roll that really stood out or wowed us. We actually left saying we wouldn't come back, which is rare for us. Honestly, one of the least impressive hand roll spots we've tried. The one highlight was the service, the staff were attentive and friendly throughout. * i don't recommend ordering the albacore sashimi, the sesame sauce is great, but absolutely does not go with the sashimi.

My first time at KazuNori, I'm so glad I was finally able to cross it off of my list! Came here on a Friday evening, thank goodness I got here a little early (around 5:45p) and was seated right away, because it started to get really crowded with lines out the door by 6:30p). Get here early if you can! I may be small but I can eat! I ordered one 6 handroll set, and then another Nozawa's 6-hand roll set, which is more like a "omakase" handroll. They wouldn't tell me what the Nozawa set entailed, but let's just say that the next time I come back, I'll just stick to my 6 handroll set. The Nozawa set included the toro and lobster hand rolls, and also had sea beam, a Japanese potato (which I did not enjoy) and another one which I did not enjoy the texture. So, if you're feeling adventurous on your palate, then I'd say go for it. The rolls also come out one-by-one, so you have to be patient for your next one to come out. I can imagine this can get frustrating, especially when you're hungry and it's a busy night! The restaurant is small and intimate, with bar seating only. Service is friendly and attentive. Because it's a small space, staff really take care of you. Worth a visit! I'll be back :)

A lovely little spot for hand rolls. I love every single bit of their handrolls. It's made in front of you with fresh rice, seaweed and the type of fish you ordered. I usually get full around 6-7 rolls. A little on the pricey side but the ingredients are so fresh it doesnt taste as fishy. Just one thing is that - the stools are so uncomfortable to sit on. I feel like that really breaks my experience. Lovely staff as always, food is amazing but I just want a comfier stool LOL

Service: 10/10, Food: 11/10. Small but clean, organized, and cozy place. Not loud, and the staff is very nice

Went for dinner on a weekday and it was busy inside. They only have sushi bar seating & the staff are friendly and attentive. I ordered a 6 hand roll set which consists of toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallops, crab, & lobster. The 6 roll set is $28. All of the sushi is buttery, fresh, & melts in your mouth. Parking- small shared parking lot (can be tough if it's busy)

Came back for handrolls but it was a bit busy. Decided to get takeout cut rolls instead! You can order through postmates or through their website (via Chowhound). Meal was neatly packaged and delicious. We got the 16-piece with Sea Bream. All delicious especially the crab as a closing note. The box contains the cut rolls, wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce, and chopsticks.

I got the 5-hand rolls from the pre set menu and I was not disappointed. Next time, I will swap the crab for the shrimp hand roll.

The quality of the sushi is amazing. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the chefs are not only talented but also genuinely friendly. Sitting at the bar is an experience in itself--you can really see the care and skill that goes into each piece. We've honestly become addicted and keep going back. The yellowtail and albacore literally melt in your mouth. Halibut is usually a little tougher compared to other fish, but here it was the softest I've ever had. The black cod nigiri is also a must--so rich and delicious. I also love their spicy mayo. Take my advice and order a real crab spicy tuna hand roll with avocado and cucumber--it's next level. And if you ask, they have real wasabi, which makes a big difference. If you're into high-quality sushi, this place is absolutely worth it.

The place is located in a small unassuming strip mall, but we had no problem finding parking in the lot and the inside was surprisingly nicely lit, beautiful, and clean. We opted to sit at the sushi bar for the full experience. For $80 the fish was fresh, presented well with no overly complicated flavors or garnishes needed. The service from both the sushi chefs and the server was great, and I left decently full. I particularly loved the hotate, or jumbo scallop, which was tender and sweet. For the location and price point, it just didn't really add up. I also wasn't obsessed with the service. Things didn't feel very seamless. We sat at the bar and had noticeable gaps between each dish. We'd finish a roll and find ourselves waiting and wondering when the next item would come out. I'm totally fine with courses coming out one at a time, but if that's the approach, the pacing should be much tighter. I left feeling like there's no real reason to come back, especially with so many other sushi spots nearby that better suit my taste.

This hidden gem is tucked in all the way in the back of a shopping center. Walked in on Saturday 5/16 around 3pm and got a nice greeting from Rizky R. Waited for about 5 minutes for my friend to arrive and we were both seated the minute she walked in. The restaurant has so much history and is very pretty in it's own way. Nice art work all around. A Sushi bar, and it was quiet when we were there. They really have a lot of choices to choose from their extensive menu. We ordered from their Combination standard size menu. Spicy Garlic Edamame, 1 Blazing Sunset Roll, and a Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box that you get to choose 3 items: we went with Spicy Tuna Roll, Fried Beef Gyoza, and the Chicken Teriyaki itself. Everything tasted very fresh & delicious!! Edamame could have used just a bit more garlic. The highlight of our meal was the ( 4) piece Beef Gyoza. It was so flavorful and crisp on the outside. Another highlight was me teaching my friend to eat with chopsticks. She was a good student and a quick learner. I wanted to take a picture of her, but she refused. Maybe next time. Restaurant was super clean including their 2 gender neutral restrooms. I have been here so many times way before the Yelp years. It never disappoints. The only thing that was different was that they tore down their indoor patio and is just an empty space now. Thank you Shiki Sushi, management, and the other employees who gave our server a hand. Daniel, Jinie, Dream & Bernando. All great servers. Team work makes a dream work!! Plenty of parking spaces.
