My husband and I ate here yesterday and the sushi was very delicious, we had gone in the afternoon, we were the only two people in there, but that was ok with us! The service was great! It's fine, but in a location surrounded by stronger sushi options. The fish tasted fresh enough, and nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. The rolls leaned heavy on rice, with very thin slices of fish on the top. Some pieces weren't fully rolled on the bottom. Prices were in line with the area, which makes it harder to justify choosing this place over others close by. It's a decent meal, just not one I'd go out of my way for again. read more

I ordered takeout for the first time from this location as I was recommended by a friend that thinks they are above standard and have a great options. The fish was fresh and delicious. The California buy one get one free special was great, especially having a cucumber wrapped. It was a nice enhancement. ***** i would've given less than one star for Sunomono/cucumber salad. I honestly have never tasted something so far it had the most bitter, horrible taste. This was by far the best sushi place we've had in a long time! The BSC was hands down one of the best I've had! The crispy rice was cooked to perfection, the sashimi plate was so fresh and melted in your mouth! The rolls that unfortunately were eaten before we could take a picture were the Shooting Star Roll and the No Return Roll. I can't even put into words how delicious they both were. Customer service was amazing. And I can't believe that on a Saturday night they were not super packed. Definitely will be back here!! In fact, all the fish I tried was decent quality. The value was there at that price point. Okay-looking place with a somewhat contemporary design. Ordered via DoorDash and food was good but packaging of all the sauces in w/ each food item was awful! 2 of the 3 dishes had sauce leaked out onto the food. Most places package sauces separately and now I know why. Usually DD makes it impossible for restaurants to set up custom requests (like please package all sauces separately from the food). Quickly made an order starting with the shrimp tempura and then the Philadelphia rolls. We got our food promptly! The food was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend the tempura California roll. (I'd even order the tempura dip to go with it). The server taking our order seemed to have slammed our drinks down. (I noticed it but didn't say anything until my guest commented on it). We just figured the server was having a bad day. When we received the food she never once checked in on us. The dirty dishes stayed on the table the entire time. She forgot the philidalfiea rolls. ‍ No big deal. We were still hungry. We were going to make some more rolls. She didn't come back so we went and approached her and asked to order more. We mentioned that she forgot the Philadelphia rolls. She then rudely told us that we didn't order it to begin with. Awkward....um...yes we did. Oh my god. What a pleasant surprise to be within 2min walk from my hotel. Beautiful dining area and sushi bar. In town for a USA BASKETBALL Coaches Clinic at Harvard Westlake HS. So today I went to have lunch with my son at The Sushi House. Not the warmest welcome but we were seated right away at a table of our choice. The waitress was also the hostess. My son and I ordered spicy tuna hand rolls and we both liked it very much. Then we got the No Return roll and enjoyed it much. Very delicious. The salmon roll from the happy hour menu wasn't that enjoyable cause it had a white sauce on top that didn't taste good. The seaweed salad and the edamame were fresh and good quality. At the end we ordered a spicy salmon hand roll and didn't like it cause it had an unpleasant aftertaste. So I left mine but my son finished his. Overall a great time here with my son ,, also the radio was on very loud and it kind of bothered us. Specially during commercials. Not the best vibes for lunch time. read more

The star is for the sushi chef. When we walked in there was just one other couple there, that was already on their way out. The waitress was rude from the moment we walked in. Like full attitude! We walked in and she started EATING. When she finally came she had attitude. My son ordered a teriyaki roll, so I read it back to hr to be sure and her response was "YEAH" in a very rude tone. I'm surprised people go in there to be honest. When we got our bill she said "FOR COMING" not thank you for coming but just "FOR COMING" We weren't rude, we were quiet, my kids were well behaved. There was no reason for her unprofessionalism. Hope she gets fired. After reading some of the reviews I see I'm not the only one that has given complained about this woman. Paid up front, tipped up front (that's my fault) for a pickup order and was blessed with this joke of a roll when I got home. I think they are slicing their fish with a mandolin with how thinly sliced this tuna was. If I'm paying for a "premium"-ly priced roll I kind of expect better than this. Will never go back to this spot. No pride in the food or service you receive. Sadly it's just another example of how businesses in the studio city area are taking advantage of the community. Just because you are in some higher income neighborhoods doesn't mean you can charge a premium for this crap. Hope this place gets what's coming to them if they keep up with this. The prices are average for sushi and they have an all-day happy hour on Mon-Thurs. Shishito Peppers (5/10): I personally don't like spicy and a few of them were, but my family enjoyed it. Crunchy Onion w/Albacore Sashimi (8/10): Super flavorful, but probably wouldn't get it again. Save the money and get one of the options below. Sashimi Combination Go (10/10): The fish was super fresh and tender. I could probably eat an entire plate because it was so good. We got 2 for a party of 5. Sushi Combination (10/10): I'm not sure what fish this is, but they were all so good! I think the right-most one is scallop and it was my favorite. I like sushi better than sashimi and would recommend the chef's choice of sushi. Baked Longo (20/10): You have to get this. It had a scorched flavor and all the flavors merged perfectly. read more
