    Salmon Arale Roll.

First time at Leona's, and I have mixed feelings. The venue is lovely, with multiple rooms of varying styles. The room with the cocktail bar (and windows open to a patio) has the most energy, with full tables and a nice, festive buzz. The middle section has a quieter, more romantic feel, though it seemed equally busy. We, however, had asked to sit at the sushi bar, and in the case of Leona's it's the loneliest space in the place. We were the only customers, with one or two other occupied tables nearby. This was clearly a bad decision on our part, but the hostess might have suggested we'd have a better time of it elsewhere. We'd have likely had better service, too. Our server was friendly enough, but went MIA a good deal of the time (we were her only customers in this room). The sushi chef was nice, but slammed with orders, though he did make ours without much wait. There is a full bar, so many cocktail options on top of wine and beer, but the sake list is a bit silly: mostly high-priced 720ml bottles, and very few small options. The food was also a tad hit or miss. Toro sushi was top notch and very flavorful; Albacore Sashimi with pico de gallo and crispy onions was also fresh as could be, and very satisfying. Truffle Butter Edamame had a nice, earthy flavor, and Ankimo sushi tasted especially fresh, with a rich and distinctive flavor. Less inspired was the Corn Tempura, which was very bland; the accompanying spicy mayo had very little spice, and seemed wrong regardless. We requested traditional tempura sauce, and this version likewise disappointed, being bland and a bit too thin, much more like a broth. Our final selection, the Salmon Arale Roll (tempura white fish and asparagus inside with salmon and avocado on top plus crispy rice and chili oil), was, again, dull and bland despite the number of ingredients. We didn't even finish it. So, was I blown away? No. Would I return? Yes. But I'll sit in the bar room, and I'll stick to sushi or sashimi. I'm optimistic that my next visit will hit better notes.

OMG!! this is the cutest place for Sushi! It's been on my bucket list for years and finally made the drive from Orange County. Loved the patio! Ordered the yellowtail roll and the seared salmon roll! Both were amazing, but I'd say the yellowtail was my favorite! We had fabulous service and our waitress. Emma, made us feel very special! oh, and the cocktails were fabulous! My daughter loved her lychee martini!

From the moment you walk in, this place is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere is elegant, cozy, and incredibly romantic. One of my favorite parts is their garden-style seating area--it truly feels like you're dining in a beautiful garden. The entire restaurant is filled with candlelight, the music is perfect, and every detail creates such a warm and relaxing ambiance. The owner is an amazing guy who genuinely cares about his guests, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. The staff is friendly, attentive, and provides outstanding service. Now, the sushi--simply incredible. Everything is fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's easily some of the best sushi I've had. They also offer convenient valet parking, which makes the experience even better. Overall, this place is a 10/10. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a date night, or just craving exceptional sushi, I highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back!

Leona's is a beautiful restaurant! We started off with drinks! I got the sake cocktail with salt rim, so good! We got the spicy edamame, which was delicious! Udon cacio e pepe was super delicious. I loved the twist of the udon noodles on a traditional pasta dish! Lastly I got the cilantro jalapeño yellow tail roll. Omg 10/10. Best dish hands down. So fresh and flavorful! For dessert, the Kabocha cheesecake. Another 10/10! Wasn't too sweet, very good squash flavor notes, not too cream cheesy! Very delicious 10/10 It was very busy! Service was a little Slower than we'd liked, but expected with how busy it was! Only complaint was all the dishes. Came out at once, including the appetizer! But once again not a big deal! I will be returning!

We came to Leona's while scouting a good option for a larger group dinner, and it ended up exceeding expectations. We made a reservation for six and were seated immediately upon arrival. Parking in the area is extremely limited, so valet is basically a must. It was around $10, which honestly made things much easier, especially since we were running a bit late. We were seated in the covered patio, which was beautifully set up and comfortable. The indoor lounge also looked great, while the sushi bar felt more suited for casual dining rather than a large party. Overall, the ambiance was polished and impressive. The cocktails were excellent across the board. Presentation was thoughtful, and the flavors were well balanced. Easily one of the highlights of the night. For food, the appetizers were fantastic, especially the shishito peppers, which stood out the most and were a table favorite. From there, everything we ordered was consistently strong. The scallops, yellowtail sashimi, ribeye steak, and branzino were all cooked perfectly. The steak came out a proper medium rare, and the fish dishes were delicate and well seasoned. The only dish that didn't quite land for me was the cucumber salad. It felt under seasoned, and while the lemon helped slightly, it wasn't memorable. The sushi rolls were good, but if I were coming back for a date night or a smaller group dinner, I would probably skip them in favor of the hot dishes and sashimi. Desserts were also a highlight. The flan was smooth and well executed, and the candied orange peel on top was a thoughtful and delicious touch. A special shout out to Chris, our waiter. He gave genuinely helpful recommendations, was honest about what stood out on the menu, and shared his personal favorites, which made ordering for a larger group much easier. His guidance definitely elevated the overall experience. Food: 4.5/5 Cocktails: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Overall, Leona's is a strong choice for both group dining and special occasions. Excellent cocktails, well executed dishes, and standout service. I would absolutely come back, especially knowing which items truly shine.

*** Michelin Plate *** Located on Ventura Blvd in Studio City, Leona's is a relatively new (opened late 2022) Japanese-Peruvian restaurant featuring fusion sushi, Italian, and more. The three of us came here for our first time last night and had an enjoyable time. Though service was spotty, everything we tried was delicious, and the ambiance was very nice. To eat, we ordered a tuna cut roll ($11), dried miso spinach salad ($17), yellowtail cilantro roll ($22), Leona's special roll ($18), tai (sea bream) nigiri ($12 for 2 pieces), and yellowtail belly nigiri ($12 for 2 pieces). If looking for an elevated spot to dine out at in Studio City, Leona's is certainly worth checking out.

Location 4: On Ventura Blvd off of Colfax Ave in Studio City, California. Very limited metered street parking so your option is pretty much their Valet that charges a reasonable $10 (as of Nov 2025) plus tip. Venue 4.5: Modern and contemporary enclosed patio, indoor tables, sushi bar and cocktail bar seating. They have 2 cocktail bars, one indoor and one one the patio. Lively and happening place with a nice, trendy vibe. We were seated in the enclosed patio which was great. They take reservations on Open Table which I would recommend as it can get pretty busy. Service 4: Our server Chris was friendly, polite and attentive. The bussers and the cocktail server were also super nice and friendly. Drinks 4.5: Full Bar. Creative specialty cocktails, mostly based on Japanese premium spirits, beer, wine and sake. The Toki Remedy (Toki Japanese whiskey, ginger, lemon, honey, bitters) and Leona's Old Fashioned (Toki Japanese whiskey, Kuromitsu (Japanese syrup made from black sugar), orange and bitters) were very good and highly recommended. Food 4.5: Sophisticated and creative Japanese-inspired modern fare with Peruvian accents; appetizers, soups, salads, oysters, hand and cut rolls, specialty rolls,. sushi, sashimi and Chef's specials (large plates of beef, chicken and seafood that can also be shared if desired). To start, we ordered the Spicy Seafood Miso Soup, the Spicy Tuna Rice Cake, the Popcorn Shrimp and the Lamb Chops. We followed with some specialty rolls; the Leona's Special Roll, the Yellowtail Cilantro Roll, the Spicy Albacore Roll with Crispy Garlic, and the Albacore Ceviche Roll. Every plate was creative, high quality and delicious. Their raw fish quality is very good and everything tasted fresh and tasty. The Last Word 4.5: A solid option for some wonderful food and drinks in a trendy, classy and upscale setting. Highly recommended!

One of the better meals I've had! Such a good spot for a big group. Everything was super delicious. I would bring people back here for sure. TBH might think this has a better variety than nobu. Plates are small (you've been warned)!!

Leona's has such a wonderful vibe and atmosphere, it's the kind of place you want to stay awhile. The cocktails are fantastic (honestly, I'd come here just for the drinks and the energy of the space). Perfect for a date night or a fun evening out with friends. The food was overall very good with some standout dishes. The octopus salad was absolutely delicious, and the nigiri was fire - fresh, high-quality fish and not rice-heavy. The rolls were also excellent, again highlighting the freshness of the fish. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good, though not the best I've had. The jicama tacos were interesting but a little bland for me, not something I'd order again. It is on the pricier side, my husband and I spent around $400 for late-night drinks and nibbles, and another time my girlfriend and I spent about $300 for drinks and five dishes. I think a lot of that comes with the location and the overall experience. Even though not every dish blew me away, the atmosphere, cocktails, and quality of the fish make this spot worth revisiting. I'll definitely be back.

I came here for my birthday and I'm so glad I did. The service was good and my reservation was honored early for my guests. I tried the Cacio e Pepe, a baked salmon roll and Frye squash cheesecake. I loved everything although the salmon roll was much simpler than I thought it would be (I ordered it off menu). The cheesecake was soo good. I'd eat here again for sure. Cocktails were good, as well.

The staff and vibes are nice. The bar room is a little too dark for my old eyes. The two stand out dishes were the spicy garlic edamame and the miso spaghetti. Everything else was good, but not incredible. The spicy seafood miso had potential. It was nice and smoky, but was slightly fishy. The sushi was fresh, but forgettable. The beef and pork skewers were also decent. Pricing was high though. The banana dessert and the chocolate dessert were also good. It was my neighbor's favorite part.

Located on Ventura Boulevard, Sushi Tomoki is a small, intimate sushi restaurant with a clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic and a relaxed atmosphere that lets the food take center stage. (The Infatuation) Since we were dining with our 22-month-old, we requested a table instead of sitting at the sushi bar, and the staff was very accommodating. They even prepared a customized tamago sushi roll for our little one, which he absolutely enjoyed. The omakase was thoughtfully paced, with each piece served one at a time so we could fully appreciate every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, and every piece practically melted in our mouths. The attention to detail and quality of the ingredients really stood out. The only piece that wasn't my favorite was the sushi topped with mint. It simply wasn't my personal preference, though I'm sure those who enjoy mint with savory dishes would appreciate it. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. They made my sister's birthday even more special by singing Happy Birthday and surprising her with complimentary sherbet and four pieces of green tea mochi--a thoughtful touch that ended the evening on a high note. A line of happy sushi chefs greet customers coming and going in the front. its funny since from the outside, the restaurant looks so unassuming from the street level. The food was excellent and I give 5-stars for the hot entrees like chicken teriyaki (5 stars) and the miso black cod appetizer (4 stars). Wife felt the miso was a bit too heavily sauced but I liked the rich flavors. We replaced the default rice with sushi rice and the sticky texture and vinegary flavor was well worth it. The Brussels sprouts and mushroom appetizer was also full of umami (4 stars). I got their nigiri combo with spicy tuna roll. Very good with fresh fish toppings (4 stars). I did not see an omakase option on the menu, but maybe that's off menu when price is not an issue. First time here and pleasantly surprised. Was looking for a place to eat on a Friday night without…read morea reservation. Was not expecting much since it's not located on Ventura Blvd and is more in a neighborhood. They have a small parking lot and then neighborhood parking lot which is a pain. Went around a couple times and finally found something. Everything we ordered was delicious. Food came out promptly and the staff was very friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating and prices were reasonable. Menu has a lot of which is kinda overwhelming.

It was my husband's and my first time there, and everything was delicious. The staff, servers, and chefs were so friendly and fun. I especially loved seeing how they interacted with their regulars -- they even knew them by name. Overall, it felt so welcoming and was a great experience. We will definitely be returning!

Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. The food was good, but I don't think it justifies the $54 per person price. They had a nice selection of appetizers, and I especially enjoyed the gyoza and the spicy tuna on crispy rice. I wasn't a fan of the calamari, though. It was heavily breaded, and I would have preferred more calamari and less coating. The creamy rock shrimp was also a bit too sweet for my taste. I also didn't care for the cucumber salad. Whatever sauce they used just didn't pair well with the cucumber. Most disappointing, for $54/person they should offer carpaccio. Not worth the price for sure. The sushi rolls were just okay. There weren't as many different options as I expected, and a lot of the rolls were very similar with only small variations. They also used quite a bit of rice, which made some of the rolls feel filling without adding much variety. One thing I did like was that most of the specialty rolls came with only four pieces instead of the usual six or eight. That made it easier to try more items without getting full too quickly. Overall, the fish tasted fresh, but the rolls were pretty average. For the price, I don't think I'd come back. I'd rather go to Zeppin Sushi in Encino, where I think you get more value for your money. That said, the staff was wonderful, and they definitely made the experience enjoyable.
