One of the better meals I've had! Such a good spot for a big group. Everything was super delicious. I would bring people back here for sure. TBH might think this has a better variety than nobu. Plates are small (you've been warned)!!

We came to Leona's while scouting a good option for a larger group dinner, and it ended up exceeding expectations. We made a reservation for six and were seated immediately upon arrival. Parking in the area is extremely limited, so valet is basically a must. It was around $10, which honestly made things much easier, especially since we were running a bit late. We were seated in the covered patio, which was beautifully set up and comfortable. The indoor lounge also looked great, while the sushi bar felt more suited for casual dining rather than a large party. Overall, the ambiance was polished and impressive. The cocktails were excellent across the board. Presentation was thoughtful, and the flavors were well balanced. Easily one of the highlights of the night. For food, the appetizers were fantastic, especially the shishito peppers, which stood out the most and were a table favorite. From there, everything we ordered was consistently strong. The scallops, yellowtail sashimi, ribeye steak, and branzino were all cooked perfectly. The steak came out a proper medium rare, and the fish dishes were delicate and well seasoned. The only dish that didn't quite land for me was the cucumber salad. It felt under seasoned, and while the lemon helped slightly, it wasn't memorable. The sushi rolls were good, but if I were coming back for a date night or a smaller group dinner, I would probably skip them in favor of the hot dishes and sashimi. Desserts were also a highlight. The flan was smooth and well executed, and the candied orange peel on top was a thoughtful and delicious touch. A special shout out to Chris, our waiter. He gave genuinely helpful recommendations, was honest about what stood out on the menu, and shared his personal favorites, which made ordering for a larger group much easier. His guidance definitely elevated the overall experience. Food: 4.5/5 Cocktails: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Overall, Leona's is a strong choice for both group dining and special occasions. Excellent cocktails, well executed dishes, and standout service. I would absolutely come back, especially knowing which items truly shine.

Location 4: On Ventura Blvd off of Colfax Ave in Studio City, California. Very limited metered street parking so your option is pretty much their Valet that charges a reasonable $10 (as of Nov 2025) plus tip. Venue 4.5: Modern and contemporary enclosed patio, indoor tables, sushi bar and cocktail bar seating. They have 2 cocktail bars, one indoor and one one the patio. Lively and happening place with a nice, trendy vibe. We were seated in the enclosed patio which was great. They take reservations on Open Table which I would recommend as it can get pretty busy. Service 4: Our server Chris was friendly, polite and attentive. The bussers and the cocktail server were also super nice and friendly. Drinks 4.5: Full Bar. Creative specialty cocktails, mostly based on Japanese premium spirits, beer, wine and sake. The Toki Remedy (Toki Japanese whiskey, ginger, lemon, honey, bitters) and Leona's Old Fashioned (Toki Japanese whiskey, Kuromitsu (Japanese syrup made from black sugar), orange and bitters) were very good and highly recommended. Food 4.5: Sophisticated and creative Japanese-inspired modern fare with Peruvian accents; appetizers, soups, salads, oysters, hand and cut rolls, specialty rolls,. sushi, sashimi and Chef's specials (large plates of beef, chicken and seafood that can also be shared if desired). To start, we ordered the Spicy Seafood Miso Soup, the Spicy Tuna Rice Cake, the Popcorn Shrimp and the Lamb Chops. We followed with some specialty rolls; the Leona's Special Roll, the Yellowtail Cilantro Roll, the Spicy Albacore Roll with Crispy Garlic, and the Albacore Ceviche Roll. Every plate was creative, high quality and delicious. Their raw fish quality is very good and everything tasted fresh and tasty. The Last Word 4.5: A solid option for some wonderful food and drinks in a trendy, classy and upscale setting. Highly recommended!

*** Michelin Plate *** Located on Ventura Blvd in Studio City, Leona's is a relatively new (opened late 2022) Japanese-Peruvian restaurant featuring fusion sushi, Italian, and more. The three of us came here for our first time last night and had an enjoyable time. Though service was spotty, everything we tried was delicious, and the ambiance was very nice. To eat, we ordered a tuna cut roll ($11), dried miso spinach salad ($17), yellowtail cilantro roll ($22), Leona's special roll ($18), tai (sea bream) nigiri ($12 for 2 pieces), and yellowtail belly nigiri ($12 for 2 pieces). If looking for an elevated spot to dine out at in Studio City, Leona's is certainly worth checking out.

I came here for my birthday and I'm so glad I did. The service was good and my reservation was honored early for my guests. I tried the Cacio e Pepe, a baked salmon roll and Frye squash cheesecake. I loved everything although the salmon roll was much simpler than I thought it would be (I ordered it off menu). The cheesecake was soo good. I'd eat here again for sure. Cocktails were good, as well.

Leona's has such a wonderful vibe and atmosphere, it's the kind of place you want to stay awhile. The cocktails are fantastic (honestly, I'd come here just for the drinks and the energy of the space). Perfect for a date night or a fun evening out with friends. The food was overall very good with some standout dishes. The octopus salad was absolutely delicious, and the nigiri was fire - fresh, high-quality fish and not rice-heavy. The rolls were also excellent, again highlighting the freshness of the fish. The spicy tuna crispy rice was good, though not the best I've had. The jicama tacos were interesting but a little bland for me, not something I'd order again. It is on the pricier side, my husband and I spent around $400 for late-night drinks and nibbles, and another time my girlfriend and I spent about $300 for drinks and five dishes. I think a lot of that comes with the location and the overall experience. Even though not every dish blew me away, the atmosphere, cocktails, and quality of the fish make this spot worth revisiting. I'll definitely be back.

The staff and vibes are nice. The bar room is a little too dark for my old eyes. The two stand out dishes were the spicy garlic edamame and the miso spaghetti. Everything else was good, but not incredible. The spicy seafood miso had potential. It was nice and smoky, but was slightly fishy. The sushi was fresh, but forgettable. The beef and pork skewers were also decent. Pricing was high though. The banana dessert and the chocolate dessert were also good. It was my neighbor's favorite part.

Leona's is my new little gem... the quality is incredible, everything is always fresh, the staff are kind, and the atmosphere is mellow given we went late Wednesday evening...

Absolutely loved our experience at Leona's! The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The service was warm and attentive, and what truly touched us was the owner's sweet gesture of bringing a special treat for the babies--such a thoughtful and kind touch. It made our visit feel extra special. We'll definitely be back!

TLDR: LOVE Leona's, halfway through our dinner we were already planning our next visit! Service all around was outstanding from the hostess, servers, bussers, everyone was friendly, kind, attentive, great knowledge of the menu. We felt very well cared for. The space itself is beautiful, open, airy, and the tables are nicely spread out so you're not on top of the table next to you. They have heaters and fireplaces so you feel very cozy. Random, but the tables are also big so you can easily share plates! Food: Miso Soup - such great flavor, big tofu chunks - comfort in a cup, highly recommend! Oxtail Bao - insanely tender oxtail, super juicy, highly recommend! Croquettes - light and tasty crab flavor, recommend. A5 Wagyu Nigiri - can't put my finger on it but it was just okay, not sure I'd order again. Veggie Roll - pickled veggies, refreshing flavor, you can sub soy paper too, highly recommend! Miso Cod - one of the best tasting dishes ever, mashed potatoes were a great touch, highly recommend! Flan - wowwww, so good and perfect size! As for the drinks, the lychee martinis were so light and delicious, super Tuscan was on point, old fashioned was nice and smoky! Next time we want to try the Udon Cacio e Pepe, Miso Spaghetti, Ribeye, and Paella! We were also greeted by the owner on our way out - that's the type of hospitality that makes you excited to return.

We come here for the amazing bartender Jose. This is the perfect spot to come and unwind after a long day at office. Trust me when I tell you. Michellin star rated restaurant... the sushi is fire! you won't be disappointed. Perfect for a date night or to catch up with friend. The ambiance is sexy. Really nice background music and the parking is super easy with valet. Check them out... you truly will have a great memorable experience with super great food that won't break your bank. One of the local hidden gems on the BLVD.

Friendly staff, yummy Hawaiian food, and now a full bar!…read more After going to Malama Pono the first time, we were so enamored with the food that my husband wanted to celebrate his birthday there. When we went to celebrate his birthday, the general manager, Matthew, heard us talking about a cocktail we liked, and he made it for us on the house. I love when restaurants surprise and delight. We particularly like the salmon tartar, the Uni on crispy rice, the lobster noodles, and the candy bar dessert. It's nice to have an upscale Hawaiian option in town.

Why havenʻt I reviewed my most favorite restaurant yet? I have asked myself this question many…read moretimes. It isnʻt because I want to keep Mālama Pono to myself...perhaps I have just been uncertain I can write a review that conveys just how amazing the restaurant is. I was originally told about Mālama Pono from a friend who grew up in Hawaiʻi just after it opened in 2020. I went to college in Hawaiʻi, and I love Pacific Rim cuisine, so my friend thought I would enjoy it. Unfortunately, it took a while before I could dine at the restaurant due to circumstances that I donʻt need to mention, but ever since the first time dining at Mālama Pono, it has become my absolute favorite restaurant. Over the last several years, I have come to know the folks at the restaurant, and they are so kind and take great pride in providing a top-notch dining experience for their customers. Whether it is your first time visiting, or you are a regular, you will be treated like ʻohana. (Thatʻs family in Hawaiian!) There is a reason why Mālama Pono ranked #15 on Yelp's 2025 Top 50 Hawaiian Restaurants in the U.S. and Canada! The service and the cuisine are so ʻono! (Delicious in Hawaiian.) The food is the true star here! I have not tried every single item on the menu, but Iʻve had a lot! The flavors are traditional, yet innovative. I pretty much have loved everything that I have tried. Sometimes there is a twist on an olʻ favorite, but I love that! I have brought several friends to the restaurant who have never had Pacific influenced cuisine, and they have loved it. The restaurant specializes in seafood, but there are plenty of meat, chicken, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options on the menu. And, items can be modified to meet specific dietary needs. The plates are easily shared, so don't hesitate to try a few things on the menu. Some of my favorites include hapa style crispy rice, tempura cauliflower, yuzu aguachile, crunchy lomi salmon tartare, colossal crab cake, horseradish crusted mahi mahi, pau hana mochiko chicken, and most recently the lobster garlic noodles. All the desserts are great too! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, with indoor and outdoor seating. The inside is dimly lit in blues, greens, golds, and wood tones, with modern Hawaiian style tunes playing, which I really love. I do highly recommend reservations. Until recently, only wine, beer, and cocktails made with iichicko have been available...and all have been great! But, a full liquor license has been approved, so new options are on the horizon as of May 2026. Also, the restaurant now opens earlier at 4pm Tuesdays through Saturday, with pau hana (happy hour) on Tuesdays through Fridays from 4pm to 6pm. If you are in the mood for some Pacific inspired cuisine in an intimate setting in the San Fernando Valley, Mālama Pono is nō ka ʻoi! (The best!)

Fish was very fresh and tasty. I would come again to try the restaurant and their other fish products I missed. So this place is a choose your own adventure (handrolls, fish shop, cafe), built out in this tetris sort of layout. Upon entry you have some high chair seating and the cafe straight to the back. Along the other side is some window seating followed with the fish shop on against the last wall. Overall its pretty small so seating is limited. So much so I was indirectly informed to move from the window seating after sitting there with my bev and bread because that was for the handroll section. So I promptly went outside. Ordered: Iced Chai Latte: 5/5 - Excellent Chai. Best I've had in a minute Banana Bread: 5/5 - Recommended to me by the server. Sigh, reminded me of those good ol covid days. Very good banana bread. BBQ Fish: 4/5 So fun fact - on sundays whatever you buy from the fish shop they'll bbq it for you, pretty cool right? While the prices are a little steep, most of it is by weight so my selected fish actually was only $6. When we do the bbq option you get a little slaw to go with it. I asked the guy to give me a relatively affordable but good option and now I don't remember what it was I know. But it WAS good. It was light, a little citrusy, and surprisingly meaty? If I closed my eyes and did a blind test you could've had me fooled for red meat. If you don't like bones and all I would suggest something else. Now I have to say as soon as I ordered that one of the girls who worked there was on her off day and ordered a salmon burger, and apparently that's off the menu and isn't every week! I felt bamboozled, the fish guy did me wrong haha. With that said, if you can be here for that it seems well worth it, the grill man was mostly cooking patties and I asked one party how was it and they said it was delicious, really packed too, that burger was thick! Now there is some outdoor seating (3) but between the handrolls in the back and the bbq in the front it could be hard to find a place to sit. I got there around 12 Sunday and a few things I wanted were already sold out so I'd say make it earlier or order ahead if you can. All in all this place has been on my list for a few years now and I'm glad I finally went. I enjoyed what I experienced so far but I'm willing to go back to get the full nine yards.

I remembered seeing Wood & Water across the street from the Le Petit French restaurant we'd eaten at several years ago, and again while driving on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. So, I made the reservation via the Resy dining app and effortlessly secured an early dinner. Although valet service was available, we were lucky to snag an open street parking stall. Upon entering the warm, fire-lit restaurant, the jovial host greeted us and checked us in. He led us into a relatively empty dining room past the beautiful full bar. Within minutes after being seated, it seemed like the host led in a "busload" of fellow Christmas Eve revelers. Our friendly server, Michael, welcomed us, asked if we had any questions about the menus or food allergies, and then took our beverage order. After ordering cocktails and appetizers, we discussed our potential menu selections, perused their wine list, and ordered a bottle of Sangiovese. Michael was excellent about coursing our menu selections. FOOD: -Yellowtail & Watermelon Sashimi: Chili oil, Serrano, ponzu, yuzu onion. It seems that creative preparations of yellowtail or amberjack tuna sashimi are trending in LA restaurants. Wood & Water's combination of buttery yellowtail slices, tender sweet watermelon, spicy Serrano pepper slices, with a drizzle of yuzu onion sauce caught our palates. I especially appreciated the textural aspects and freshness of this appetizer. $22 -Truffle Kennebec Fries: Black summer truffles and pecorino shavings garnished the freshly made, hot, and crisp fries. The massive bowl of shoestring fries caught my husband's and his brothers' attention as we sipped our cocktails. They agreed that W&W's shoestring fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. $19 -Roasted Duck Breast: Michael confirmed the duck breast's medium-rare doneness would be okay, or if I wanted the duck breast to lean more towards rare or more fully cooked. Honestly, I'm pleased with medium-rare doneness, and that's exactly what I received. The deliciously roasted duck breast was plated atop a generous serving of wild mushroom risotto and enhanced with in-house brandied cherries. I was drawn to this dish because I like the pairing of roast duck with a fruit sauce. Although I was drawn to pistachio-crusted lamb chops, I planned to have lamb for dinner the following day. The duck breast had evenly browned, crispy skin, and its meat was tender and succulent. The in-house brandied cherries added a deep fruit flavor, which was enhanced by the warm brandy, along with subtle notes of vanilla and spices. $48 -Pork Chop: Asian Marinade, whole grain Dijon mustard mashed potatoes, quick pickled purple cabbage, and chimichurri. My husband and brother-in-law ordered this dish and were surprised by the thick 1-1/2" pork chop. They didn't think the combination of an Asian marinade would complement the other garnishes (quick-pickled purple cabbage and chimichurri). Still, apparently, after wolfing down the soft, tender, and succulent pork chop, they were proud to admit their "clean plate club membership." $44 -Pistachio-Crusted Lamb Chops: Six tender pistachio-crusted lamb chops were plated atop whipped eggplant with roasted/charred heirloom carrots. My eldest brother-in-law ordered this dish and let me sample a piece of the lamb chop. The pistachio-crusted lamb tasted luxurious and nutty, with flavor-enhancing herbs that created a pleasant savoriness. The roasted/charred heirloom carrots brought along their natural sweetness and a touch of herbaceousness from their seasonings. $62 -Peanut Butter Chocolate Turnover: Although we were all content with our meals and drinks, we were tempted to satiate our "sweet tooth." The peanut butter chocolate turnover appealed to our foursome, who wanted to share. The dessert was served warm, with the turnover's crust light and flaky, and a hot, ooey-gooey peanut butter and melted chocolate interior. The premium vanilla ice cream added an icy, creamy contrast and neutralized or mellowed the flavors of peanut butter and chocolate. $16 We're not residents, but after this dinner, my brothers-in-law and I left wondering why we hadn't tried this restaurant sooner. We'd happily return to try more of their signature cocktails and entrees for flavors, textures, presentation, and value. The service was excellent despite the huge Christmas Eve rush and crowd.

It is similarly popular and ubiquitous in America. And further, there is a wide variety of interpretations of this very well known culinary style. So, I can say, Ca del Sole represents its own unique interpretation of Italian food, California-wise, in the US. Start with parking. They have their own lot and a reasonably priced ($7) very friendly valet. Nice and easy. The entrance to what appears to be a substantial and established building immediately introduces you to the wine closet, which displays some appealing vintages. Good so far. There are multiple places to eat: outside on a pretty, covered patio, the bar area, the main dining room, and a large extra room beyond that. We chose to sit inside on a cloudy, chilly day. The atmosphere in the room is old school. The lights were dim, the pale blue walls are plain save some interesting artwork here and there. The stone-like floors are dark and it is all offset by crisp cream linen-clad tables. The general effect is California in the '50s -- and it is pleasingly comfortable, as are the leather-like banquettes. Our server, Paul, was quick to attend to us and kept up that efficiency throughout our meal. He was warm and friendly while being utterly professional. We arrived in time for the brunch menu and could also choose from the main menu, so we selected items from both. Everything was well done, if not revolutionary or spectacular. Each item was a good representative of its category. My pictures will tell the rest about the food selection. I liked the menu being in Italian. I would have preferred Italian music in the background. We seemed to have picked a quiet time in the early afternoon but there was a large party in one room and other tables filled and emptied during the time we were there, a leisurely 90 minutes or so. As I have mentioned before, there are restaurants that are essentially local venues, drawing a loyale and repeat clientele, as opposed to those who try to attract a wider customer base. Ca del Sole seems to be the former, especially given the people who we saw when we were there, who seemed as if they had been frequenting CdS for decades. I also imagine they bring in the studio execs during the week, so a weekend afternoon is a good time to go and I think you should try it. If I have any suggestions for the owner, I think the place could be updated a bit. Whiter walls, a little bit higher and warmer lighting, maybe fresh flowers? I can't put my finger on it, it seemed a bit understated, just a bit tired. Ca del Sole doesn't speak of the Old Country to me. It is classic Los Angeles Italian and for many people that is what makes it charming. I liked it and for certain friends and family, it would be the ideal place to go again, and I know we will.

We were craving some shrimp boil and wings and decided to stop here for dinner. Our server was kind and went above and beyond. We ordered a pound of shrimp and bundled it with the corn, potato and sausage. We got it with the grabby sauce and it was super delicious. We all had the lemon pepper wings extra crispy, my husband had the loaded clam chowder not pictured it was too good. We also had rice, French baguettes to dip and kids Mac and cheese. Can't wait to come back again it was excellent and definitely worth the drive from lancaster.
