The Bottom Line 3.75 stars: Recommended. Fresh ingredients and tasty food. Acceptable service. The parking situation needs a lot of work! Read on for the details :) Location 2 stars: In Studio City, near the CBS studios, corner of Radford Ave and Hoffman Street. They have a 6 car parking lot that is always full on evenings and weekends. Metered parking on Radford and free street parking on Hoffman and nearby streets are very hard to come by. Be prepared to circle around the block, hoping for someone to pull out. Venue 4 stars: Medium-sized restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a sushi bar. They take reservations on the phone, which I would recommend for evenings and weekends. Service 3.5: Service is friendly and polite, but it can be slow. The level of attentiveness was inconsistent throughout the dining experience (at times our server was very much around and at other times he was nowhere to be found). Food 4 stars: Asian-inspired appetizers, sushi, sashimi and rolls. Fresh and high quality ingredients. Large list of specialty rolls with creative preparations and great taste. Prices are on par with similar restaurants. Drinks 4 stars: Typical sushi restaurant offerings of beer (bottle and tap), sake, wine, soft drinks and tea. Drink prices are reasonable.

First impression- slightly tucked away with a cute outdoor seating area Parking- plenty of street parking all around! Food - appetizer - garlic edamame- according to my friend it was great! - main - nigiri sushi mix- great quality fish and I added a salmon roll on the side - bento box with chicken teriyaki and a California roll - super filling * both came with miso soup slightly salty so we added some ginger to balance it out! Service- friendly and genuinely happy to be there Overall- I'd definitely come back! This is a great local spot that didn't have a wait time. We both loved our time there.

Absolutely amazing sushi! It's on the pricier side, but you pay for the quality! The fish was incredibly fresh, and each roll had a unique, delicious flavor. We loved the crispy rice with spicy tuna and the CBS roll--flavorful and perfectly balanced. The staff were kind and welcoming, and Kwyn was especially helpful and attentive throughout our visit. You can really tell they care about quality and presentation here. A great spot for anyone who loves high-quality sushi. WE LOVE IT HERE and can't wait to come back!

How have I walked past this place for 20+ years?! I've been eating sushi in Studio City for over two decades and somehow always overlooked Studio Sushi. I usually park on the side street near the studios, and between valet-only spots and impossible meter parking on Ventura, I never gave it much thought until now. I was headed to one of my usual sushi spots on a Friday night, but it was packed. No reservation, long wait, so I turned back toward my car and decided to check Yelp for Studio Sushi. The reviews were solid, so I went in and I'm so glad I did. The place is small but charming. Even though they were busy, I was seated immediately at the bar. Service was on point from the start water, beer, and appetizer suggestions right away. I ordered baked mussels, crispy rice with spicy tuna, albacore sushi with crispy onions and their most popular roll, the CBS roll. Everything was great, but the CBS roll was the star. The flavor was impeccable, the albacore was a huge bonus and whatever sauce they use is next-level. The albacore sushi practically melted in my mouth. Crispy rice was fried perfectly just very filling and the mussels were baked just right. What really stood out besides the food was the service. Constant water refills, checking in about drinks, attentive without being overbearing. Also they're open for lunch, which is rare these days for sushi restaurants on Ventura post-COVID. Definitely coming back. This place is a gem.

    Toro! Delicious!

I'm giving this place 5 stars for the convenience, service and the Toro! Great location for lunch for folks working at the studio across the street. It wasn't too packed for and our server was very sweet. We ordered a few specialty rolls. All of them were pretty good (although a couple of the shrimp and langostino a weren't fully cleaned. The standout was toro nigiri special. It was topped with caviar and truffle and was buttery and delicious! I will definitely be back for that! Prices were typical for a sushi place in the area but not too bad. Totall was around $100 plus tip for two people. It does close at 2:15pm so you need to put in your orders by 2pm and it reopens again for dinner at 5pm like most places around here.

Went for the first time after a suggestion from a friend. Food was fresh, staff was friendly, and prices were reasonable compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. We went on a Friday about 40 minutes before they closed. We were able to find parking in the neighborhood easily. We just wanted to be quick as to not overstay knowing they closed soon. We sat inside and it was a little warm and we were in tank tops. Our waiter was great. However there was a little hiccup with the lady who brought our order out. We specifically clarified that she was bringing the right dish. She assured us it was, it turned out not to be after all. It eventually was fixed by our waiter but they should be checking to make sure the order is accurate. It didn't apply here but I have a guest with an allergy that a mistake could be a bug problem. Would come back again. I also do appreciate they had soy paper options

Don't judge a book by its cover! Studio City's Sushi Row is packed with restaurants competing to serve you the best sushi. From the very elegant to the most casual, Studio Sushi is a low-key, relaxed spot offering fresh sashimi, sushi, rolls, cooked dishes, udon and Bento boxes that impress! Located on a prime corner with indoor and outdoor covered patio seating, the main attraction-- as it should be-- is the sushi! They have a decent selection of beer, sake, and wine, but I wasn't expecting to be so impressed with their sashimi options. My go-to test for sushi restaurants is always the toro or salmon. I loved their salmon sushi so much that we ordered the chef's special spicy salmon hand roll. It was jam-packed with salmon, crispy rice, jalapeño, and avocado. This was, without a doubt, the best spicy salmon hand roll I have ever had. The yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, crispy fried onion, cilantro, and ponzu was absolutely scrumptious. I was especially excited to try the Sasha Roll-- spicy salmon, jalapeño, crispy onion, garlic chili oil, sesame oil, green onion, avocado, sesame seeds, and rock shrimp tempura tossed in lemon chili mayo, all wrapped in rice paper. With such incredible ingredients, I was hoping to be blown away. However, the taste was just average.

Is this low key my new sushi spot? Yes. Am I gonna try gate keep this spot for myself? I wish. But they deserve all the business! Obvi this spot is well known for many but for me I was always curious when in and around the neighborhood. Thank god I finally gave it a shot! All the dishes were fantastic. We got the miso soup, crispy rice with spicy tuna. Moved on to the cbs roll and the studio roll (THAT TRUFFLE THO) and finished with the hand roll mix that we devoured and unfortunately didn't get a pic of (blue crab, yellow tail and my fav the shrimp tempura and avocado). Service was so friendly and attentive. Ambiance is cozy and casual. Pro tip: call in advance to put your name down for the waitlist. Took about 20 mins for a table but no biggie! It was worth it!! 10/10 will be back and will not gate keep I PROMISE.

Angie was amazing! I love Studio City Sushi and I have never been served by her before, but it was a great experience. It was my friend's birthday and she honored it with a vanilla ice cream. The food was great. The service was great would recommend!

Good sushi, but bring your patience. Came here because I kept hearing great things, and the food honestly was really good once it finally showed up. Super fresh fish and solid flavor combos. BUT... it took forever to get our food. Not sure if they were understaffed or just backed up in the kitchen, but it was pretty crowded when we went last week so I can't blame them. The vibe is cool, kind of intimate, and the staff was really nice. I'll be back.

Located on Ventura Boulevard, Sushi Tomoki is a small, intimate sushi restaurant with a clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic and a relaxed atmosphere that lets the food take center stage. (The Infatuation) Since we were dining with our 22-month-old, we requested a table instead of sitting at the sushi bar, and the staff was very accommodating. They even prepared a customized tamago sushi roll for our little one, which he absolutely enjoyed. The omakase was thoughtfully paced, with each piece served one at a time so we could fully appreciate every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, and every piece practically melted in our mouths. The attention to detail and quality of the ingredients really stood out. The only piece that wasn't my favorite was the sushi topped with mint. It simply wasn't my personal preference, though I'm sure those who enjoy mint with savory dishes would appreciate it. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. They made my sister's birthday even more special by singing Happy Birthday and surprising her with complimentary sherbet and four pieces of green tea mochi--a thoughtful touch that ended the evening on a high note. Spicy Tuna Cut Roll--for 10 pieces ($14.80), Albacore Fried Onion Roll-- count of 12 for ($20.80), Zero Roll-- count of 12 for ($25.00), Rainbow Roll-- count of 12 for ($10.80). Everything was so LIGHT, FRESH and DELICIOUS!!! They also have hand rolls, and other types of cut rolls. They have street and metered parking. Before I forget, we ordered Crispy Rice Tuna that came in (2) pieces for (13.50). The minute I saw that, it made me laugh. Called our server and told her to take that back and remove it from the bill which she gladly did. I thought it was going to be an actual full course rolls. They also have dessert but we didn't order anything. Restaurant was very quaint, limited decor, very busy for Monday mid evening, and was very nice and clean. Total came out to be $95.70 including tax minus the tip. I'm sure they also have a bathroom, but we didn't end up using it. I will return, but not any time soon. They also don't have any Bento Box type of food. Very authentic place to go on a date, friends, family or even dine solo. They also have a Sushi Bar. Alcohol wise, only have beer, wine and sake along with 2 fridges full of cold drinks.. Thank you all very much!!

A line of happy sushi chefs greet customers coming and going in the front. its funny since from the outside, the restaurant looks so unassuming from the street level. The food was excellent and I give 5-stars for the hot entrees like chicken teriyaki (5 stars) and the miso black cod appetizer (4 stars). Wife felt the miso was a bit too heavily sauced but I liked the rich flavors. We replaced the default rice with sushi rice and the sticky texture and vinegary flavor was well worth it. The Brussels sprouts and mushroom appetizer was also full of umami (4 stars). I got their nigiri combo with spicy tuna roll. Very good with fresh fish toppings (4 stars). I did not see an omakase option on the menu, but maybe that's off menu when price is not an issue. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. The food was good, but I don't think it justifies the $54 per person price. They had a nice selection of appetizers, and I especially enjoyed the gyoza and the spicy tuna on crispy rice. I wasn't a fan of the calamari, though. It was heavily breaded, and I would have preferred more calamari and less coating. The creamy rock shrimp was also a bit too sweet for my taste. I also didn't care for the cucumber salad. Whatever sauce they used just didn't pair well with the cucumber. Most disappointing, for $54/person they should offer carpaccio. Not worth the price for sure. The sushi rolls were just okay. There weren't as many different options as I expected, and a lot of the rolls were very similar with only small variations. They also used quite a bit of rice, which made some of the rolls feel filling without adding much variety. One thing I did like was that most of the specialty rolls came with only four pieces instead of the usual six or eight. That made it easier to try more items without getting full too quickly. Overall, the fish tasted fresh, but the rolls were pretty average. For the price, I don't think I'd come back. I'd rather go to Zeppin Sushi in Encino, where I think you get more value for your money. That said, the staff was wonderful, and they definitely made the experience enjoyable.
