The best sushi in studio city... HANDS DOWN! I have only eaten here for the past 2 years, and I can't say enough everything is clean, service is amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful! It's truly a gem! And it's the best family friendly and date night space you will ever come too!

Favorite spot hands down. The food and service is always amazing, we love coming here! We always have the pleasure of having Maika as our server, she's always so kind and helpful but today she was in the front and greeted us with a welcoming smile. If you are looking for a place to have Sushi in the Valley make sure to go to Teru!!

Made reservation for day after Valentines, got right in on time. Everything we ordered was delicious and as fresh as can be. Service was great, attentive and appropriate. Ambiance was pleasant. Will definitely return!

Teru came highly recommended from my friend - who lives in the area - and is some of the tastiest sushi I've had! We ordered the yellowtail belly with uni and truffle (from the special menu), twilight roll, and dragon roll. The flavors of each were so complex yet complementary; I've never had truffle with sushi before, but it works! Our server Nomi was stellar, attentive even though dinner service was quite busy on a Sunday. Her colleague (didn't catch her name) also always made sure our water glasses were filled! The restaurant has several sushi chefs behind the counter, so you aren't kept waiting long for your order. Finally, I felt the pricing was very fair for the quality of the rolls served - yet another incentive to come back and try more! Granted, neither my friend nor I drink, so with the waters our tab came out to just under $40 per person. For yellowtail, uni, crab, and eel, what more could you really ask for?

Came here for dinner during the week and it was busy. We started with spicy tuna rice cakes, garlic edamame, and shrimp & vegetable tempura. The spicy tuna had a nice kick and the rice cakes were crispy on the outside. The garlic edamame had garlic slices mixed in with it. The shrimp & vegetable tempura were fresh and had a crispy batter. The OMG roll is a spicy tuna roll with crispy onions and yellowtail sashimi. The rolls are fresh and the menu is large enough to have a lot of variety. Parking- valet parking

The Fly fell into the sauce, crawled out, then fly away. I found it extremely entertaining and then asked for a new bowl of dipping sauce.

Our friend Christina Pope took us out for another stellar meal. This time it was Teru Sushi. Ambience was great as we were seated in the back garden area. It was a bit hot back there with the only drawback being a fly who decided to go for a swim in the gyoza dipping sauce, otherwise a great dining experience. Our server Josh was extremely attentive and did a wonderful job making sure everyone was taken care of and satisfied with our selections. The food was very good and well plated. The only complaint was everything came out at one time which made things a bit unmanageable for our 4 person table. I am glad there was only 3 of us.

Too busy of a place but yet two hostesses were not on point. From the get go service was slow , no menu delivery. After seated and what felt like an eternity I finally got menus & waters. Sushi quality and especially the rice here is great. When places get too busy the service slacks. Food came out of order placement and late. But I still enjoyed everything.

Teru Sushi is a must try! The ambiance is very intimate and the outside seating area has pretty scenery with foliage and a fish pond. I really appreciated their complimentary cucumber water and their soft spicy tuna rice! Has got to be one of the best! My favorite roll was the OMG Roll. Because OMG -- the truffle is everything! Our waitress was also very kind and gave us great recommendations for it being our first time visiting. I do wish the hostess' were more welcoming, but overall a great spot to check out!

Dinner date night at Teru Sushi was an absolutely wonderful experience! I loved the little entry walkway just outside that gives the feeling you've been transported away from Ventura Blvd with the relaxing little bench, pond, and other decor. The hostess inside was warm, welcoming, and had us seated immediately. Service from the waitress was also very quick and attentive with making sure we had any items or refills as needed. On to the sushi!! There were so many appealing sounding options from the creative menu names and accompanying descriptions, but we ended up going with the Sushi Combination, 'Studio City' rolls, and some Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes. For drinks, we did a Strawberry Nigori Sake, which was a deliciously light and fruity accompaniment to all our sushi! I loved everything we ordered, and also found the portions quite generous, with both of us being left very full. A few notes: For the Sushi Combination, I loved that it came with a little side of miso soup. Relaxing and soothing, miso soup is always a must for me at Japanese restaurants! Also, a lot of the sushi for the sushi combination plate had a bit of wasabi on them...that wasn't an issue to me, but if you're someone who doesn't care for wasabi, such as my partner, that may bother you a bit. The 'Studio City' rolls were definite highlights of the meal for the both of us - FULL of salmon, cream cheese, avocado, tempura batter, spicy mayo, AND more....it all went together surprisingly well and was an amazing fusion of flavor, creaminess, & slight heat that ended up working perfectly! The Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes were also very solid and delicious to enjoy! We loved everything we ordered for our dinner, and the 'Studio City' rolls are a MUST ORDER! From ambiance, service, and the sushi/other food itself, I highly recommend and will be returning in the future to try more menu options!

This restaurant came recommend from a friend and it was my first time visiting. As my first impression, I would have given it 5 stars if the service was quicker. As far the ambiance, I would give is a 5. Love the seating arrangement and the interior design. A classic looking sushi restaurant with good food. Just wish the food is served a little quicker. I'll be visiting this place in very near future again to try other rolls and other menu items.

Good sushi spot with a very extensive menu with so many different rolls to choose from. Maybe too many rolls. They are very attentive and do a great job of checking on your table. The fish was fresh but the rice just a little on the hard side. I loved the OMG roll the best. They have cool little booths so even though you are right next to another table you are a bit separated. It's located on Ventura blvd so do yourself a favor and just pay the $8 for valet parking vs looking for a parking spot on the street.

The place is located in a small unassuming strip mall, but we had no problem finding parking in the lot and the inside was surprisingly nicely lit, beautiful, and clean. We opted to sit at the sushi bar for the full experience. For $80 the fish was fresh, presented well with no overly complicated flavors or garnishes needed. The service from both the sushi chefs and the server was great, and I left decently full. I particularly loved the hotate, or jumbo scallop, which was tender and sweet. For the location and price point, it just didn't really add up. I also wasn't obsessed with the service. Things didn't feel very seamless. We sat at the bar and had noticeable gaps between each dish. We'd finish a roll and find ourselves waiting and wondering when the next item would come out. I'm totally fine with courses coming out one at a time, but if that's the approach, the pacing should be much tighter. I left feeling like there's no real reason to come back, especially with so many other sushi spots nearby that better suit my taste.

The yellowtail and albacore literally melt in your mouth. Halibut is usually a little tougher compared to other fish, but here it was the softest I've ever had. It is a pretty small place and not loud which we enjoyed. Our server was sweet and attentive. She noticed that I was struggling to figure out where to put my purse and she directed me to the hook under the bar. Our food was amazing. Each item was carefully curated so that it highlights the fish and brings out the best flavors. Our chef was very nice and had great recommendations. He recommended the tuna cheek and it ended up being our favorite the entire night. The cuts were very fresh, buttery, and melts in your mouth. They also have A5 wagyu. Overall amazing. It is pretty pricey but theres a reason for it. It's high quality, well curated pieces and made fresh. The only issue I had was the chopsticks. I was expecting a better one. It was impressive, unique, and incredibly delicious. After that experience, I remembered it as an outstanding restaurant and wanted to come back regularly. Last week , I decided to revisit and relive that experience. Unfortunately, I left deeply disappointed. The restaurant is still expensive, but the quality and taste are no longer what they used to be. We ordered a variety of sushi--overall, they were okay, but nothing that created a "wow" effect. The biggest letdown was the albacore with truffle. In all the sushi restaurants I've visited, I've never seen truffle presented like this. We waited quite a long time for the dish, and when it finally arrived, I honestly thought there had been a mistake and that it wasn't our order. I even asked the server to confirm, and they assured me it was correct. The dish cost $44, and it was absolutely not worth it. The truffle had no aroma or flavor--it looked more like some kind of brown substance, as if it had been sitting somewhere in the kitchen for months before being shaved onto the dish and served as "truffle." Very disappointing. I was really hoping to rediscover the place I once loved and return on a regular basis, but after this experience, I won't be coming back.

The reviews were solid, so I went in and I'm so glad I did. The place is small but charming. Even though they were busy, I was seated immediately at the bar. Service was on point from the start water, beer, and appetizer suggestions right away. I ordered baked mussels, crispy rice with spicy tuna, albacore sushi with crispy onions and their most popular roll, the CBS roll. Everything was great, but the CBS roll was the star. The flavor was impeccable, the albacore was a huge bonus and whatever sauce they use is next-level. The albacore sushi practically melted in my mouth. Crispy rice was fried perfectly just very filling and the mussels were baked just right. What really stood out besides the food was the service. Constant water refills, checking in about drinks, attentive without being overbearing. Also they're open for lunch, which is rare these days for sushi restaurants on Ventura post-COVID. The room with the cocktail bar (and windows open to a patio) has the most energy, with full tables and a nice, festive buzz. The middle section has a quieter, more romantic feel, though it seemed equally busy. We, however, had asked to sit at the sushi bar, and in the case of Leona's it's the loneliest space in the place. We were the only customers, with one or two other occupied tables nearby. This was clearly a bad decision on our part, but the hostess might have suggested we'd have a better time of it elsewhere. We'd have likely had better service, too. Our server was friendly enough, but went MIA a good deal of the time (we were her only customers in this room). The sushi chef was nice, but slammed with orders, though he did make ours without much wait. There is a full bar, so many cocktail options on top of wine and beer, but the sake list is a bit silly: mostly high-priced 720ml bottles, and very few small options. The food was also a tad hit or miss. Toro sushi was top notch and very flavorful; Albacore Sashimi with pico de gallo and crispy onions was also fresh as could be, and very satisfying. Truffle Butter Edamame had a nice, earthy flavor, and Ankimo sushi tasted especially fresh, with a rich and distinctive flavor. Less inspired was the Corn Tempura, which was very bland; the accompanying spicy mayo had very little spice, and seemed wrong regardless. We requested traditional tempura sauce, and this version likewise disappointed, being bland and a bit too thin, much more like a broth. Our final selection, the Salmon Arale Roll (tempura white fish and asparagus inside with salmon and avocado on top plus crispy rice and chili oil), was, again, dull and bland despite the number of ingredients. We didn't even finish it. So, was I blown away? No. Would I return? Yes. But I'll sit in the bar room, and I'll stick to sushi or sashimi. I'm optimistic that my next visit will hit better notes.
