I have always wanted to try the Thursday food trucks in Stevenson Ranch but every Thursday I forget. Today there were many trucks to chose from but this one i went back to twice looking at the menu and also saw another couple enjoying the teriyaki plate. I ordered the Teriyaki Tri Tip bowl with the mushroom rice and it was very light and delicious. I ate every bit of the bowl and would definitely recommend this truck to anyone that likes teriyaki.. This place is really healthy and super good. Came here , dont really like food truck food but this was sold tri tip. The bowl I got was the reg tri tip bowl. It came with asparagus, veggies , mushroom rice , and tri tip. The gave good porion of tri tip. It was cooked really well I was surprised and it was juicy. The prices are normal range but the food was super good. I would definitely try the other bowls next time they are around. You definitely need to try this truck. read more

So I've had a lot of food truck food and most rank in the good range. BB Kyu is special...it was exceptional! I ordered the combo plate with traditional tri tip and Teri chicken. I didn't expect to get mounds of meat that were moist and tender. It's not easy to make teriyaki chicken that isn't dry, but the BB Kyu truck has mastered the art of moist chicken that isn't drenched in teriyaki sauce. The tri tip was also perfectly done! Tender and moist. What makes this plate even more delicious is the mushroom rice. It's flavorful and not over powering. The perfect side to the meats. Be ready for real grilled vegetables! Not that chopped up frozen stuff...real sliced, grilled squash, zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus, onions, tomatoes...it really was a feast! I can't wait until they're back in my area! read more

Let me start out by saying I'm not that fond of food trucks...now that I got that out of the way, BB Kyu is a notable exception. Often times the food from food trucks is underwelming, expensive, and takes a long time. Went to Food Truck Thursday at Stevenson Ranch this past Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. You have to expect to pay around ten bucks, right? I bought the combo bowl with teriyaki chicken and tri tip. The teriyaki chicken was perfectly cooked with the proper amount of char and not too dry. The sauce wasn't overly sweet and the chicken was cut into bitable strips. I'm always skeptical about buying tri tip because it's usually too dry and overcooked. Not this time. It was a perfect medium rare, with the proper pink coloring, sprinkled with sesame seed. Good so far, right? The biggest surprise was the mushroom rice! I don't recall ever having mushroom rice probably because I don't care for mushrooms, however, it was savory and complimented the meats very well. Was told it was a family recipe. I stumbled upon this gem of a food truck while walking my dog at El Cariso park in Sylmar. I purchased the traditional tri-tip plate which comes in a generous portion! The tri-tip was cooked and cut perfectly - every bite sized meat was juicy and tender... The charred pineapple was perfectly sweet and tart complimenting the buttery meat. Not to mention the family recipe mushroom rice adds that umami element to an already mouth-watering dish. Oh, and to top that all off, they garnish the dish with oh-so-aromatic toasted sesame seeds... I was so blown away by the perfect combination of smell, taste, texture, presentation. This last Saturday night, decided to stop in at the Saturday food tuck spot for the first time. Tried 3 different trucks. All were very good, however this truck had the best flavors and was so light and tasty. The tri tip plate was delicious and came with mushroom or plain rice. I chose mushroom and was very pleased. Stumbled upon this truck, and tried it on a whim. It was amazing. Ordered three bowls: tri-tip, veggie, and teriyaki chicken. Ate all of mine, and part of my daughter's, both were top notch. The owner greeted me warmly and offered me a sample. It took a little long, but not a bad wait. Once I tasted, I understood the wait and wasn't bothered at all. Everything was grilled beautifully, and was fresh. Portions are perfect, not too much, and the food was satisfying but not heavy. Fed our family of three dinner for under $30, with tip. A mom and pop food truck with friendly customer service. I got the combination plate, which comes with tri-tip, teriyaki chicken, baby mixed greens salad, and grilled veggies. I got it with the mushroom rice (you can also order it with plain white rice). I don't know which item to praise because it was all delicious and the ingredients were clearly high quality. Tri-tip was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Veggies (squash, asparagus, and red peppers) were flavorful and not soggy or too salty. The teriyaki chicken was juicy and delicious. And I love that it comes with a slice of grilled fresh pinneapple, too! For the quality and amount of food it is surpringly affordable, too. OMG! I thought the the food was amazing! I was at a street festival in Highland Park and the BB Kyu truck was there. I ordered the traditional tri-tip bowl and wished I had ordered the plate.
