This location is in the Panorama city food court so you need to find street parking. Went for the lunch special to try it out since it's cheaper coming during this time. We got the steak plate that comes with veggies and fried rice. We ordered the steak medium but it seemed to be well done and dry. Also not much flavor to it. The best part of the meal was the fried rice. Also wish they had some white garlic sauce to put on the meat to add more flavor to it. Overall just okay & I think their regular prices are too expensive for it to be worth it. Very nice people and service but just okay food.

One of the most flavorful Teppanyaki I've had, with excellent service. I had them cater for my Christmas party and they definitely didn't disappoint. All my guests loved the food, with very generous portions. Would recommend them to all!

THE BEST!! The only hibachi worth having in the valley. Fantastic flavors. Incredible portions. Amazing yum yum sauces. And great customer service. Our favorite date-night-in

Food was so good! The rice, meat & vegetables are all really well seasoned. The portion sizes are also really generous & we got 2 meals out of one plate. The staff is friendly & service is fast.

The food here never misses! There were weeks that I had Ticas 3/7 days. Portions are generous as one plate could easily feed 2 people Absolute favorite is the medium rare New York steak fried rice plate with diablo sauce but the shrimp is also bomb. Get the trio if you want the full experience, which I highly recommend Already came back so many times to even write would come back lol

Maybe it doesn't have an Insta ready wall for fancy pics but it's a hidden gem that's been run by the same award winning chef for decades. There are pictures of him with generations of famous people from the world over who eat here so that speak speaks for itself. Also, he must be over 80 and he still greets and seats every customer personally. The place has been around a while so one might consider it a bit "rustic" and sure there's a wait, but that's because this place has stood the test of time and still turns out incredible food and service. And no, like the other reviewers said, there's no sushi but this is an authentic teppan whose focus is grilled food...and they're great at it

It's still run by a Japanese family and feels more closer to a homey Japanese-American mom and pop. All the little photos and drawings give it a nice touch. Food was great and portions were generous. However, if you like medium rare food or fat on your steak, make sure to ask for rare and to keep the fat. The norm I think is most people want really lean and well done. My fam prefers stuff more rare and if you like it rare too, keep that in mind. The grill also contributes to cooking the food more well done. Overall, give Mori a try if you're in the area.

A Hidden Gem with an Unforgettable Experience!…read more Maison Kasai has such a cool, mysterious atmosphere. Hidden behind a bookshelf inside a bar it gives you that exclusive speakeasy vibe right from the start. After placing our orders, we were entertained by a magician who was absolutely hilarious! The magic and humor made the evening even more enjoyable. For dinner, we ordered the Duck Confit, Chilean Sea Bass, Lion's Mane Mushroom Katsu, and Wagyu New York Steak. Once the chef stepped in and began preparing our courses, I knew we were in for something special. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully executed. The two standouts for me were definitely the Lion's Mane Mushroom Katsu and Duck Confit. Both were incredibly memorable and full of flavor. You can really tell the chef takes pride in bringing out the best in every dish. Overall, Maison Kasai offers more than just a great meal. Between the hidden speakeasy entrance, entertaining magic show, and outstanding food, the entire evening was an experience. Definitely a spot worth checking out in Los Angeles!

However, the service and the way the bill was handled completely changed my opinion. Throughout the meal, our server did the bare minimum, rarely checking on us or refilling our water. When the bill arrived, I noticed it included a 20% gratuity along with a 3% credit card surcharge. Since I had cash, I handed the server $40 and asked for my change. That's when he told me they don't have change because the restaurant is cashless and showed me a sign. I then pointed out that the menu I was given never mentioned a 3% credit card surcharge. I also questioned how it made sense to advertise being cashless while charging customers an extra fee for using a credit card. The server insisted the online menu disclosed the fee and claimed that "everywhere charges a credit card surcharge," which simply isn't true. After I challenged it, he suddenly offered to remove the surcharge and brought back a revised bill for $25.45. When I decided to pay that amount with my credit card instead, he told me he would have to add the 3% fee back. Fortunately, I had exactly $25.45 in cash, so I left that amount on the table and left. It honestly felt like he expected me to leave the original amount without questioning it. After getting home, I checked the restaurant's online menu myself. I could not find any disclosure about a 3% credit card surcharge. I also noticed that the menu states the 20% automatic gratuity only applies to parties of six or more, and our party was smaller than that. The food may have been good, but hidden fees, inconsistent explanations, and poor service ruined what should have been a pleasant meal. I won't be returning.

Honestly, this place was a little more authentic than the run-of-the-mill sushi spot we probably should have gone to with kids who mostly want California rolls, spicy tuna, and chicken teriyaki. But I chose it on purpose because I wanted something genuinely authentic in Little Tokyo, and I'm really glad I got to try something new. I had the pork loin katsu (around $26-28). It was super moist and had great crispiness, so no complaints there. But when I saw "pork loin," I expected a leaner, firmer cut, and this had a lot of fatty pieces. The breading also didn't hold onto the fat, so it kind of fell apart in spots. It was still really good, I just would've expected it to be leaner. I've since learned loin katsu traditionally keeps the fat on for flavor, so if you prefer lean like me, the tenderloin (hire) katsu might be the better pick. I'd give it about a 7 (maybe a 6.9). It came as a set with rice, miso soup, and three little side dishes, kind of like Korean banchan. They weren't bad, but they're definitely an acquired taste and you'd have to be adventurous. There was also a soft tofu custard-type dish that wasn't sweet and was really bland. I wouldn't order it again, but maybe I just didn't eat it the right way, and I'd love to learn how if that's the case. No disrespect to the culture at all. I'm not a picky eater, a lot of the set meal just didn't appeal to me. The yellowtail jalapeño cut roll (~$20) was really good quality. My son got yellowtail and spicy tuna hand rolls ($9 each). The chicken teriyaki was a standout: super crispy, a smooth batter different from the katsu (not tempura), and really good flavor, about a 7.8. They also have kid-friendly stuff like fries. And whatever that mustard mayo sauce on the table is, it's amazing. I dipped my fries, chicken, and katsu in it and it definitely helped. Drinks: I was a little shocked at $16 for a hot sake for sake bombs, and it wasn't even a bigger carafe. Beer was average priced, thank God. As I say in a lot of my reviews, anything past $9 for a beer and you're basically being robbed. Service was excellent. Everyone was super friendly and so accommodating with our three loud kids, which I really appreciated. It's somewhat kid-friendly; there were a couple of other kids there, so it's not a hoity-toity place. Overall, 7.8. Food pricing was fair, but a lot of the set meal was a dud for me, and I'd order something different next time. Still, it was a fun experience and I'm grateful we tried somewhere truly different.
