Salmon with fried rice and veggies.
    Dondo V.

Not sure what happened, but this place used to be a lot better. Today, not so good. The fried rice and veggies were good, but the almost paper-thin slice of salmon tasted old and not fresh. I won't be ordering from here again.

If I can give 0 stars I would, LAST time I order from here. I stopped by around 11:30 they had a few customers waiting & as I was also waiting I noticed a customer complained about a missing plate the staffed looked very confused & were saying to one another "I'm working on this" I realized there was another man waiting for his order & his order # was way ahead of what was being served & the server herself looked confused on why his order wasn't out yet when he asked. When I got home & was ready to feed my kids I realized the plate I was given was NOT what I paid for. $40 for a wrong meal? I get it, it's late night but customer service is key TO ANY BUSINESS. I called multiple times & then I realized they were declining my call due to the fact that they were already closed. THANKFULLY I live near by so I was able to catch them & when I got there they were confused but knew what was wrong because they had "an extra plate" left over. & ofc they would offer but why offer something the customer NEVER asked for? & one of the staff members had the audacity to say "that was you" sarcastically laughing when I mentioned I kept calling & no one answered!!! & look about the portion of chicken & rice given for $40 INSANE!

I can't believe all of the bad reviews.. I live right down the street & always order over the phone it's ready in about 15 mins at the most. For everyone complaining about the wait, pick your phone up and call ahead? Food here is bomb. It's always still hot when you take it to go. Veggies are my favorite along with the rice. This is one of the best food trucks I've ever been to hands down. Pricy sure but this isn't something I eat everyday so I don't mind. Good spot (:

Is old lobster salty and disgusting

We order from 405 Teppanyaki all the time, but this time we had a horrible experience and will never order from them again. Here is what happen!! We ordered 10 plates and payed almost $ 400, five of the plates had lobster in them, the lobster was horribly salty old and looked like throw up. I called to let them know, the supervisor was very rude, he did not even want to here me out,did not even sound like he cared that a customer is upset that they gave her old seafood, which can be very harmful for a person. Beware their seafood is old and harmful !!!

Sushi, Bentos, appetizers, etc. The place is not large inside, but you can sit at one of their tables or at the sushi bar as well. Started with some spicy edamame's and shishito peppers, cooked perfectly. Miso soup, salmon, spicy tuna, spicy scallop, white fish, veggie tempura, a BSC roll, unagi, baked crab and California rolls. Enjoyed everything very much except for the baked crab roll, it was ok, but not my favorite and I would not order again. Everything else I would get again. There are a few spaces in front on Sepulveda, but you should park in the back in the large parking lot that they have. The lot is not free, just an FYI. Staff was really nice and took care of us well. Their prices are not bad for sushi, more reasonable than others, but the sushi is still high grade and very good. Keep the prices reasonable, provide great service and provide high quality tasty food is a recipe to keep your customers coming back. We wandered down Woodman Ave. And Randomly walked into Kaiju. We were warmly greeted, quickly seated at a booth and the interior was cozy with wonderful lights everywhere, and packed to the gills with folks. We sat at the only booth open and ordered our two ramen bowls. The service is quick and efficient. My vege ramen was super yummy: creamy, with thick noodles, mushrooms+bok choy. I asked for spicy and they added a yummy chilli oil. My husbands was seafood ramen, but somehow the noodles were missing. He later found out our waitress mistakenly gave him the miso, seafood soup bowl. Later we were some of the last folks to depart closing out @10pm. We appreciate the later evening hours, the cozy ambience with cool tie-dyed ocean, blue curtains, lanterns strung about, and efficient service. Will wander back and try other vege rolls and the tempura ice cream, at a later time. :) Thanks guys.

It was refreshing to not be disappointed by our ramen, so my mom and I went back less than a week later. Any issues we experienced our first visit were either repeated or amplified during our second visit. Both times I noticed that the ramen isn't served hot. At best, it's served warm, so despite being a quick eater, the last bites of my bowls were "enjoyed" cold. Also, the restaurant is very busy with to go orders, so the overwhelmed staff has to juggle dine in as well as delivery drivers and their priority is the to go orders. They have a sign up/wait list, but they don't follow it. Customers who stand at the door, in the staff's view, will be seated before others who signed up before, but are off to the side. Lastly, is the issue of cleanliness. Our first visit the restaurant didn't feel very clean, but by the second, I was sure they weren't cleaning throughly. We ordered fresh garlic and the garlic masher they gave still had old garlic inside. On top of that, they don't wipe tables between customers because they're so busy. Strictly rating the food, Kai Ramen deserves a solid 4 stars, but as a whole, I think 3 stars is generous. Unfortunately, another visit wouldn't change anything because the problem is caused by management understaffing and overworking employees.

A nice guy, skilled with his knife, and completely accommodating in every way. If you're wanting a high-priced, high-concept sushi spot serving upside down crab smoked with logs imported from some underground cavern near Mt. Fuji, this ain't your place. What this IS, is an unpretentious, traditional sushi bar serving the greatest hits you grew up with in generous portions at surprisingly reasonable prices. There are only 3 choices on the Sake menu, but they're selling Kikusui for $5 less than most other places, so you're ahead of the game before you even mix your wasabi into your soy. Garlic Edamame was served piping hot and dressed in a rich coating of garlic and soy. Very tasty and very properly cooked, unlike so many other places, where the edamame is over-steamed into a mushy, unmemorable mess. Instead, these beans had snap and a good bit of their own flavor standing up to the sauce. A very nice surprise from such a ubiquitous starter. Shiso's version of Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was also very generous: 6 pieces of nicely spiced tuna with avocado and jalapeño, the rice cakes themselves being enjoyably crunchy on the outside, meltingly soft underneath. Saba (Japanese Mackerel) was lightly smoked, with a mild flavor; Ikura was pleasingly briny, while the Octopus was tender and rich. A Salmon Skin hand roll was the perfect finale: crispy and deeply flavored, and again, quite generously portioned. If you haven't been yet, you need to make a plan to go ASAP. The food will satisfy, the staff will charm, and you'll leave with all the very best feels.
