Exceptional! All the ingredients together made a unique combination. I've never tried anything tasty like that. Good job!

Very tasty and healthy food. Thank you! Good service and the plate was awesome full of delicious veggies for a very good price.

Not much has changed inside, which is honestly part of what I like about it. Walking in always feels familiar. If you enter through the back you will pass the wall covered with old photos. And if you take a minute to look through them you might even spot someone you know. These days I keep my order simple with a large Famous Italian. While I'm waiting, I'll walk through the little market, check out what they have, grab something cold from the fridge, and maybe bring home some frozen pasta for a future dinner. The Famous Italian is my usual, but the hot pastrami and meatball sandwiches are also worth getting. The caprese salad is simple and fresh, and if I'm in the mood for something heavier, the hot lasagna always does the job. I've been coming here for over 20 years now and it's nice having a place that doesn't need to change.

Your neighborhood Italian deli, bakery and market all in one place!…read more Cavaretta's Italian Deli is an east coast style Italian deli that brings back a bit of nostalgia with old school vibes! They've been serving their loyal customers in the San Fernando Valley since 1959! Handmade meatballs and marinara sauce, that's simmered for 7 hours. Lasagna that's made from scratch daily. You can't beat their popular Italian Sub so of course we had to order that! Picked up a couple old school Italian sandwiches for our Hollywood Bowl show. Of course, we couldn't leave without their housemade Tiramisu and Carrot Cake Bar. Trust me, definitely worth it! Don't skip out on their cannolis and other desserts. There's a little market inside and seating. Perfect for a picnic or catering your next event!

I just discovered this place through Yelp, and the Donkey's Revenge is my new go-to salami…read moresandwich. The bread is perfect, and for me, the amount of salami and cheese are perfect, too. Some places pile on way too much, but this is perfection for me. Fast, friendly service, too.

I was intrigued when I saw a spot that I had never heard of with a good yelp rating, I had to check it out. After reading a few of the reviews, and looking at the photographs I was sold. The Antidote delivery was close by, but let me tell you I had difficulty finding it. I want to make sure that others are aware of the challenge because it is definitely worth it. The issue is the signage. I was confident when I walked in and told Arthur, the gentleman behind the counter, that there was no sign, indicating Antidote Delivery, he politely corrected me. It turns out that next to the "market" sign there is an exclamation mark Which shows antidote delivery. My eyes went right over it and I never saw it, as a result I found myself circling around, trying to find the correct location. Once you find it, you may be hesitant to enter thinking that this is just a liquor store. In fact, this market has been here for 25 years and they prepare a fresh submarine sandwich that is delicious. So here is what you need to know upfront, the ambience is not desirable, so plan on a takeout. But if you're looking for a local business with a fresh delicious submarine sandwich, I would give this a try. Arthur was very kind to explain that they do deliveries within 5 miles for $2.99. So if you live within 5 miles you can order your sandwich and have it delivered. It's convenient because it's also a liquor store. You can order anything else at the same time and have that included for that nominal fee. It's always nice to support local places, this feels like a family business but I didn't ask so I'm not sure. One thing I'm certain of, I will be returning.

I had heard really good things about this place and finally decided to give it a try, especially…read moresince they have a rewards program. I decided to build my own hot sandwich and went with the XL size since I planned on sharing it. For the price, I thought it was a great value! The sandwich was absolutely stuffed with ingredients and definitely filling. I got Dutch Crunch bread with seasoned avocado spread, oven-roasted turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, sprouts, and cucumbers. Everything came together really well and I loved how generous they were with the fillings. The XL size was definitely worth it. I may have just found my new favorite sandwich spot and already looking forward to coming back and trying another combination. Parking can be a little tricky around lunchtime. I had to drive around for a bit before finding a spot in the residential area across the street, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. Overall, a great first experience with a generously portioned sandwich and good value for the price.

My food was ready when I arrived so it was a quick in and out. My kid and I loved the Howdy. We each ate one half. I didn't like the Melrose. It was just too salty. That's where I deducted 1.5 stars. Portion size was on the smaller size. Their large is not a large. Probably more like a medium. Definitely smaller than Capriotti large. Gotta try the other sandos but Melrose was a huge miss. Really disappointed as it was their most popular sando. So I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars.

Some places change over the years, but this spot continues to hit the same way it always has. The pastrami sandwich is phenomenal, and the turkey sandwich never misses. I'm actually glad I didn't go out of my way for it, as we only stopped by because we happened to be nearby at Lake Balboa Park. The shop itself is a tiny shack with fewer than six seats at the counter. While they have picnic benches out back, you have to head inside to order, which can get pretty cramped. To their credit, they do a good job of limiting the number of people inside at once, but I would recommend ordering to-go to avoid the tight squeeze. I tried their most popular items--the Italian and the Pastrami--and honestly, both were a bit underwhelming. I enjoyed the chopped onions, pickles, and tomatoes, which reminded me of the sandwich shops back home in Boston, but there are definitely better Pastrami and Italian-style sandwiches available in the greater LA area. I'm happy I finally crossed this off my list, but I likely won't be making a special trip back.
