The challenge was real, find a nearby local spot with decent submarine sandwich's. So I did what I always do, pull up Yelp. I was intrigued when I saw a spot that I had never heard of with a good yelp rating, I had to check it out. After reading a few of the reviews, and looking at the photographs I was sold. The Antidote delivery was close by, but let me tell you I had difficulty finding it. I want to make sure that others are aware of the challenge because it is definitely worth it. The issue is the signage. I was confident when I walked in and told Arthur, the gentleman behind the counter, that there was no sign, indicating Antidote Delivery, he politely corrected me. It turns out that next to the "market" sign there is an exclamation mark Which shows antidote delivery. My eyes went right over it and I never saw it, as a result I found myself circling around, trying to find the correct location. Once you find it, you may be hesitant to enter thinking that this is just a liquor store. In fact, this market has been here for 25 years and they prepare a fresh submarine sandwich that is delicious. So here is what you need to know upfront, the ambience is not desirable, so plan on a takeout. But if you're looking for a local business with a fresh delicious submarine sandwich, I would give this a try. Arthur was very kind to explain that they do deliveries within 5 miles for $2.99. So if you live within 5 miles you can order your sandwich and have it delivered. It's convenient because it's also a liquor store. You can order anything else at the same time and have that included for that nominal fee. It's always nice to support local places, this feels like a family business but I didn't ask so I'm not sure. One thing I'm certain of, I will be returning. read more

The sandwiches are something you can't find anywhere else not only because the speed that they're made but the quality of the ingredients any business in the area if you ask them where to get a good sandwich, they're going to point you right in this direction and not only did they make fantastic food. I have only had their sandwiches delivered to me, but I do it a lot. They use outstanding baguette-like bread. I say "baguette-like" because it tastes amazing, like a baguette, but is not hard to chew. They use fresh ingredients and they use the right amounts, so the sandwiches have a balance of flavors and textures. It's not just "pile up a bunch of lunchmeat on a bun." LOVE this place, before my mom passed she lived nearby so I would always order from here, she loved their ham turkey sandwich with avocado and I always ordered the Monster I spoke to one of the workers up front when I placed my order that it started out as a joke and didnt think that it would be taken seriously! It was a great little chat and learned a little history behind that sandwich. Every single sandwich I've tried from here has been absolutely delicious. They offer delivery and you can even order some items from the mini mart they are associated with. The staff that answers the phone and the delivery person have always been friendly. Just stopped in before a work meeting to grab some lunch. The ambiance is an unassuming deli in a strip mall area. The man at the register takes your order and he and his wife makes your order. I had the egg salad baguette; the bread was so fresh. Crisp but soft inside, the egg salad was unsalted or lightly salted. Either way probably best for my heart. lol I sat out on the back patio and enjoyed my meal and even had the pleasure of making some small talk with the wife. This is my favorite sandwich place! Everything they make is so delicious and it's a good value for the price. My favorite is probably the pastrami sub with swiss on French bread but today I got the avocado club sandwich and it was very good as well. Turkey, avocado, iceberg lettuce, red onion, bacon, and tomato slices on a croissant with mustard and mayonnaise. What a mess. You'd think since they mailed me a flyer they must want my business. And it looks good so I call the number on the flyer and there is no answer. Well maybe the outgoing message will tell me what to do. There is no outgoing message. Check number and try again. Yep. This alleged business has a mailbox that is full and no outgoing message at the number on their flyer and the number on Yelp. Ok, so I'll go to their website. Lol, you can't do anything on it! It's literally a one page website with a drop down menu that doesn't work. So it's confusing. They do want our business or not? So we decided to just pay the extra money to grub hub and try them out. The sandwiches were good. Lots of filling and pretty solidly delicious flavor. But the bread was very very hard, as in kind of difficult to eat, kind of hard. What a shame to have gone through all this time and forty dollar lunch costs for an okay sandwich on hard baguette. Seems pretty cool that they are a full store though, including Italian desserts. What to go with: Italian cold cut sangwich bangin off the hinges. Egg salad sangwich bangin off the hinges hittin switches in the low-low. (My personal fave from here and prob one of the best egg salad sangwichs around) Pastrami Swiss is a great audible if you can't make up your mind. Turkey is decent. The French baguette they use is fucking awesome. Texture is prefectly crumbly with a great crunch and decently soft inside. I have used the delivery service on multiple occasions both to my residence and to other locations I was at and in need of a plethora and diverse list of items that ranged from sandwiches (fyi they're the bomb, get it on the French baguette), ice cream, water, drinks etc. From the pics of the store it looks nice enough inside. I love this place. I like supporting small businesses around my neighborhood. The bagels are delicious, my favorite is the egg, cheese, and pastrami on plain bagel. The staff are very friendly. However, I wish the prep area is a little cleaner. The condiment bottles need to be cleaned or replaced. It just makes me think if there's bacteria in the bottle.
