It is that day of the year again. Free Chicken Bowl on your birthday when you join the Five Star App. Yay!!! There was a line when I came but it went fast. I punch in my phone number to the machine and there it is my freebie. The cashier is glad to give it to me. I waited for like 8-10 minutes to be ready. That's not bad. At least I am confident that they are preparing fresh food. Dine in is allowed now. Few tables are available inside and outside. While waiting, I looked around and noticed the wall. I have gotten Flame Broiler several times, and from several different locations. The first thing that stood out to me is how consistent the restaurants are across the board. This is a good thing! The food is consistently good. Teriyaki chicken bowls are a gift to my mouth as far as I'm concerned. I really enjoy them, and I love that they can even be healthy. I appreciate that you have your choice of white or brown rice here (that is not the case at every teriyaki chicken restaurant). The ingredients also seem to always look and taste fresh, which is critical for both chicken and veggies. The only demerit as far as I'm concerned is that they're a bit skimpy on the sauce, and that the teriyaki sauce is a little watery for my preference. Otherwise definite thumbs up here! read more

Had to take my car in to be serviced on Van Nuys Blvd., and while I was waiting for it to be repaired I wanted to find something for lunch that wasn't just the regular fast food. Saw the Flame Broiler across the street, went in, ordered the Angus Beef plate (beef, white rice, vegetables)... and then I went straight to Heaven. It was that good. Really excellent, flavorful food, and about a million times better than any other "bowl" place. What makes it extra great, is that you get a choice of sauces to put on top. I chose the "double"-strength sauce (they also have single and triple), and this seemed to be exactly the right amount. Loved it. Couple of weeks later, I had to take my car back to the shop again. At first I was disappointed, but then I remembered: I can go to Flame Broiler again. And so I did. If not for having car problems, I never would have discovered the amazing Flame Broiler. I can't recommend it highly enough. Very nice servers, too. A+. read more

Another customer came in after me and ordered his food and it wane out before mine even though I had ordered ahead. Then when I did get me food it was not accurate. I love locations that have offers to attract students, especially being next to a university. On mondays they have discounted chicken bowl and on fridays you get a free drink. Now on to the food. The meat is great quality and the service is super fast. The meat is nice and tender and well seasoned. Combined with their signature sausage this is such a filling great meal. He listened to every word and took action immediately. I wasn't expecting this at all We have been dining there for 2 years with no issue just great healthy food. As I further learned about who the owner is, i discovered a man of respect, a daddy of a 2 year old, a man who drives DAILEY from San Diego just to make sure his customers and his staff are happy. The chicken veggie and rice bowl is delish. You can even do chicken with only veggies if you are going for low carb. Chicken is fresh. I love this place. All the employees are super nice. I can't believe anyone would even give this joint less than 5 stars. They also have an assortment of sauces ... teriyaki, hot sauce of various intensities, and so on. Just picked up a chicken bowl for dinner and I'm very disappointed as the chicken is over Cooked and very dry. This location is as good as any. I usually get the half and half chicken steak w half rice half veg. Magic sauce and scallions is a must. The meats are over cooked (of course) and not top notch (obviously). But it good enough. I've never had to spit out anything , which should tell you something I suppose. Seating outside. Staff is ok. Mini bar for sauces. Fountain drinks and fridge w canned stuff. Place is fairly clean. It's a fast food joint imo so your expectations need to be set before you come here. Great place for a quick and healthy grub. It's in the same shopping structure as 24 hour fitness so it normally makes a great post workout meal for me. Told me what the most popular items were how it's made what it comes with offered options this guy was awesome. Clean place very fast with my order. Guy told me about all the different sauces available at the condemnet station. Which ones were spicy which were not etc Food was amazing. Rice was perfect. Vegetables still crispy and crunchy not soggy so much flavor. This is a very nice and clean location hidden in the same shopping center as 24 Hour Fitness. I suggest the all white meat bowl with veggies and no rice. Low in carbs and high in protein. The regular size bowl is a sufficient amount of food to get you through the day. read more

Girl working today 4/11/20 is VERY rude. I order my food, there's no one in the store, she forgot to give me my drink with my combo so I could get my drink while I wait, another guy walks in, I ask for my drink and she says let me help this guy first. What??!! I said I was here first, then she gets an attitude like I was doing something wrong by asking for what I already paid for. Service was usually good but today we came in and this young lady was sweeping and probably trying to wrap up her shift but she gave us such a moody, go-away look. Take a look at the staff and service at Chick-fil-a in Northridge, they are an awesome team to model after.
