I found parking easily in the private lot this place has. When I walked inside, they were not busy and I was the only customer. I asked about the deal and they honored it. I got the chili double cheeseburger, asked for no chili,onion or pickles on it. I also ordered fries and a pepsi. My food didn't take long to come out and I ate it inside of the place. I like the food and ambience of this Tommy's. Some of the workers are pretty retarded though. The one who took my order really pissed me off. He had zero customer service skills, forgot my root beer float, and when he finally got it after I reminded them that I wanted the drink I paid for the soda was leaking out the lid. Created a freakin mess. He seemed really off. Can't they hire actual competent people here? Preferably ones who didn't creep customers out? This dude shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a burger joint, let alone our country. Then I got up to the window & asked for chilies & got some to take home ... make it make sense y'all. Tommy's used to be ran like a well oiled machine. You'd ask for something & the people in the kitchen would step up & try & accommodate. This particular Tommy's is special to me because it was the first time I ever had a Tommy Burger, back in 1969. It was crowded then and crowded now. Just as tasty as ever. I'm wondering how such a long-standing successful money making operation looks like a garbage dumpster? It is shocking at what a dump this place looks like. Bathrooms are always an indicator of what the owner cares about his image and customer experience. These guys obviously don't give a crap. Yet, with all that being said, the food and service are amazingly on point! A Tommy's should always be a 5 star, no excuse. Anytime we're in town, a visit to Tommy's is a must. Chili cheese fries and burgers are always good, but my favorite is the chili cheese hot dog, That wiener has got to have a natural casing because it's got a good snap, the chili, cheese, onions, and a whole tomato on top all work in harmony. I live in Louisiana and I have to be on vacation in LA to get my fix. I left LAX and headed straight here. The burgers are excellent! Thick slices of tomato pickles onion mustard and a healthy dose of chili! The staff is right there serving food from the counter and getting it to you hot and fresh! This place is my favorite breakfast spot for a quick (big) bite before work. I would highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with egg. It comes with a a sausage patty, egg, their famous chili with tomato, onion and pickles all wrapped up in a hamburger bun. You can add cheese if you want. I love this location because it is opened 24/7. That means you have access to the best chili cheese fries in Los Angeles County. Coming in a close second is the Hat and third and fourth would be Bobo'd and Johnny's Pastrami but I digress. This chili is best eaten hot, with melted cheese and I like grilled onions. They also have pickles, banana hot peppers and ketchup. I enjoy the chili cheese hamburger as well. They have double and (I think) triple burgers but one layer is plenty for me especially since I add chili and all the fixings (onion, pickles, tomatoes). This location is pretty fast whether you walk inside or go through the drive thru. Good customer service as well. They are also reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Just had the chili dog and it seems they replaced the original hot dog. The dog was so dense in texture without it's juicy bite that I remember. The fries were cold and so was the chili.
