We ordered a head of time for a pick up and even though they have a specific pick up area they are using it as a regular register so makes the whole thing super chaotic! Now on to the actual donuts they are meh at best yeah the cock and balls looks cool but the signature voodoo that's suppose to be a voodoo doll was just a round jelly donut with a soggy pretzel! After all these years of seeing them all over food network and great travel videos it's really sad that these donuts are just another tourist trap gimmick! Couple reasons for this rating, plz read below. TLDR: overpriced, inconsistent, lack of coffee options. I had tried Voodoo doughnuts several years ago in Seattle and Denver and both times were great. I went to the Tempe location on a Friday around 10.30, so luckily no line. Most donuts seemed to be fresh, I grabbed what most would consider an OG, that is, the glazed one, and a Chuckles (their snickers variant). Coffee options were very limited to begin with. Donut prices were listed as starting from $1. If the glazed, most basic donut was $1.75, I cannot think which other donut would be possibly $1. Unless their store signs are old and misleading, that's a diff story. They have the cheapest sugar and CoffeeMate creamer pods for your standard drip coffee - no "raw" sugar, no alternatives from what I saw in the holder that's placed on the trash can near the bathrooms. The glazed donut was an absolute disappointment. While the dough tasted fresh, the glaze was absolutely minimal (bottom half had none at all) and the flavor was extremely minimal too. Had 2 bites and tossed it. The Chuckles was actually a great tasting donut - rich in flavor and the consistency was great too! read more

Wowza! I never thought Arizona would be so lucky to welcome an amazing donut shop. I've had Voodoo in California and remember the amazing experience I had there and can't say it's changed. This location is absolutely stunning and the staff is incredible. The quality of the donuts remains the same, fluffy, fresh and delicious. The interior is absolutely stunning, boasting two large magnificent chandeliers and the donut carousel (both pictured) - It's certainly breathtaking to walk in here, smell the breeze of fresh donuts being made and smiles forming. A bright pink structure right by the road is hard to miss! It's cool that they have their own parking lot but what's not cool is the long queue in order to get their doughnuts! I wish they introduce some system to avoid that. Around 45mins standing in line to get our doughnut after all the reviews we have been reading since years was kind of a disappointment in terms of flavors and textures. I have had way better tasting ones without standing in line. I found them to be tasting overtly sweet. I took days to finish one doughnut. We tried the passion fruit special, Portland cream and raspberry Romeo. Sorry but can't choose a favorite. Visit if you want to try but at your own risk! read more

I got the Banana Cream doughnut, as she said it was a little less sweet than some of the others on the menu. It was good, nice and fluffy with just the right amount of cream inside. It was a little pricey, but you're definitely paying for more specialty doughnuts here rather than traditional ones. The store was well decorated, but did not have any indoor seating which is kind of an issue when visiting Tempe in summer. read more

Have been wanting some Vegan doughnuts all last week. I finally decided to make the drive out and let me say my drive was 40 minutes each way a total of 80 minutes just for Doughnut drive time. NO REGRETS, None! The donuts were soft and tasty I got the Vegan Dozen and added their Vegan Apple Fritter as it doesn't come in the Vegan Dozen. Each donut was delicious and satisfying. So excited I finally got to try Voodoo donuts, and I got to do it close to home! We went at 6:30 this last Sunday knowing that the first week was absolutely nuts. The large window so you can look into where they're dipping and decorating was fun for my kiddo. The rotating donut cases are gorgeous and fun and offer a great view of the donut options. We each only got one donut but will definitely be going back to try them all! I got the voodoo doll donut because it felt like a must. The dough was perfectly fluffy with just the smallest hint of chewy (exactly how I love it). The amount of frosting creating the eyes was a little much for me but the jam was so good with the dough. Yum. My kiddo got one of the most chocolatey donuts they had which was chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, and covered with a few chocolate chips (the lady serving us saw how excited he was for chocolate and gave him the one with the most chocolate chips. I didn't get my order until 25 min after my preorder time slot and they didn't have the donuts that I ordered. That's understandable. They're overwhelmed. I paid $38 ish dollars for 13 donuts. That's, ya know, not great but I'm an adult and knew what I was getting into. But the donuts are not significantly better than Bosa. One of my Voodoo donuts was stale. Arizona Donut Co. is right around the corner and way better. I think it's the pink building. I think people love the branding and the hype and need to feel part of a collective experience.
