VN pho is where I, an Asian person, came for most of my Asian food needs while I was in Wenatchee. They of course do not have everything you might want in terms of variety, but they do the biggest hits pretty well. The pho here is pretty good, the bun bowls are very generous with actually pungent fish sauce, and the fried rice with chinese sausage is fragrant and satisfying. I read an Onion article recently about a girl walking into a restaurant without knowing it's Yelp star rating. Thankfully, I have my phone on me, and I didn't have to do that on a recent trip to Wenatchee. I probably wouldn't have found VN Pho (tucked in a strip mall off the main street), and if I had, I probably wouldn't have walked in. But I am oh so glad I did. The place is your normal Pho restaurant. Eastern culture decor, booths and tables, not a whole lot of character. None of that matters when it comes to the food. I tried the chicken Pho and the Won Ton Soup. We were served a plate between us piled high with bamboo shoots, two large leaf-laden sprigs of fresh basil, and sliced jalapeños which added wonderful flavor to the already delicious soup. The thing that stood out to me the most was the broth. The chicken pho had a delicious hint of garlic broth with a subtle and complex flavor, and the won ton's caramelized onions made the broth strong but not overwhelming, in the best way. I had the large for less than 10 dollars, and could have gotten full on the small. Chili sauce, sriracha, hoison all on the table. Great service and a chef that knows good soup. It's been 3 years since we moved from Wenatchee. The last place we ate at when we left was VN Pho and it was the "Thing" we were going to miss the most! Well we are vacationing in the area, and we just had too stop by. We are so happy we did, because it has only gotten better with time! Pho Tai, so good. Best Pho broth and steak, we miss it! Been around to a few Pho places and no one does it like Van. Fresh Spring Roll is worthy appetizer from high end restaurants. The peanut is perfect! The beef fried rice is delicious. A meal all it's own. And Finally the bubble teas. This is a new addition to our experience at VN Pho. Made with fresh fruit, Oh My God, it is so so awesome! We had a HoneyDew and an Avocado, and we couldn't tell you which we loved better! The staff & service has and is like a part of our extended family, so nothing but good things to say! Great food, great service- what more can you expect from a place in a strip mall? A warning not to take on the chef in some sort of jalapeño contest? Pho was flavorful, especially on a cold day. Spring rolls were some of the best we have had. Service was really great. The staff made everyone feel like regulars, this the warning not to get into any type of jalapeño contest with the chef. EXCELLENT pho. I'm a fan of the P1, heard the chef call it "The sloppy one!" Has all the beef meats in it. For $20 which includes tax and tip I can get a delicious bowl of pho about the size of my head, full of awesomeness (and they DO NOT skimp on the meat at all), as well as a Thai iced tea, and be full for hours. The inside is plenty clean, never had an issue there. They're pretty quick to swoop in, bus the table, spray and wipe it down as soon as a table leaves. Never had issues with the dishes, glasses, or silverware being dirty or anything like that. What sets this place really above MOST restaurants I've been to is the staff seems to know a LOT of the customers personally and it's not uncommon to see staff chatting with customers while they eat or wait for a takeout order. Some places, staff getting too chatty with customers they know can lead to service issues, not here. I NEVER have to wait to be seated, for a drink, to place my order, get my check when I'm done, anything. Usually the food comes out super fast, as well. Also, it's a family run place and you can really tell that the kids who run the front of the house are pretty tight and love their jobs. read more

When I want pho this is my go-to place. It's the best! I haven't tried their other items because I'm so dedicated to the pho that it's what I always order. I get the chicken pho with added vegetables. It's freshly made and you can tell! They bring it a small plate with basil, jalapeños, lime wedges, and bean sprouts that can be added to the pho. Best broth I've had maybe ever. I live in a large city with many Phò options but this place is probably the best I've ever had. Good size portions, fresh bean sprouts and fresh Thai basil. Hands down, one of the best little restaurants to eat at in Wenatchee! They are always busy and the parking is tight, but if you can get a parking space, it's totally worth the stop. The pho is delicious, one of the best I've had in the area. The broth is flavorful and the toppings are fresh. You can tell they take their time in cooking the broth. I have also tried the Bun Doc Buit (B1) plate with beef and an egg roll. OhhhhMyyyGGG! This is a perfect trifecta of salad, noodles, beef and egg roll! Let's break it down a little bit. The meal comes out in a bowl, at the bottom of the bowl is fresh lettuce. Then there is a layer of vermicelli noodles, which add texture. Then they top it off with juicy cuts of meat, in my case beef. It's cooked well and flavorful. The last element is the crispy egg roll. It's thinner than typical ones, but because these are home made, they are full of spicy sausage and carrots, then deep fried to perfection, cut into pieces and laid across the top. On the table, there are bottles of soy sauce, teriyaki, sriracha, and they give you a little bowl of plum sauce with carrots. This meal is perfection in a bowl. I live in Wenatchee and have dined at this place many times, but today is likely the last time ! Thanks to a rude young man I have not seen there before and who I guess is family. The service has never been spectacular but ok. As we walked in there was him and a young woman waiting tables and he told us if we wanted to sit at a booth we would have to wait until he could clean it. So we sat at a clean table at which point he began cleaning a third table then the booth. I the. Asked for water, at that he sourly said he was going to get it. He brought water and menus. Being from the West Side of the state, I have eaten a lot of pho. It has became my go to fast food. After moving to Wenatchee and having a plethora of Mexican food options, I was THRILLED to find this place. VN Pho has amazing pho. Their broth is authentic and delicious. Unlike most pho places, VN does not skimp you on the meat! Very delicious, excellent staff that makes an attempt to get to know you, and quick service. I make it here at least once a week. Their pho is okay compared to what i have had however, its good for being in wenatchee. Im giving a three star review because usually most ( but not all ) pho places i've been to usually have the bottles of Sriracha and Hoisen Sauce out to put into the soup where as for this place they give it to you into a small dish. My wife and I were traveling and spent the night in Wenatchee. We enjoy the Vietnamese dish of Pho on occasion and have tried it at various restaurants across the country. We happened to find this establishment with the help of Yelp and thought we would try it based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. The service provided by the two servers was very good. They kept our water glasses filled and regularly but not overly so came by to ask if we needed assistance. The pho was delicious and came with generous portions of garnish. I was particularly impressed with the freshness and the size of the basil leaves. The portions were very large and we both took with us what we were unable to finish. For the money, a great value. I would recommend this restaurant to any that enjoy exploring regional cuisines. read more

Pho was pretty good for a place far far from Seattle. Most of the small town pho shops aren't tasty with small portions. VN Pho is not one of them. Staff is very friendly. All of them regularly checked on us and refilled our drinks. This is not normal for pho shops. read more

I love this place! One of my regular places to go to when it's chilly outside! The pho that is served here is DELICIOUS! you can really tell that they take a lot of pride into the broth and it's Amazing! I'm a little adventurous when it comes to eating pho, my regular is the P9, which is beef noodle soup with brisket, flank, tendon crunchy flank, and fatty flank with a side of beef.... pure heaven! They also serve the fresh spring rolls with peanut hoisin sauce. I have yet to try their Bun vermicelli dishes... but I'm sure I will soon! I've also done take-out a few times here, and love how everything is packaged separately so I can take it home and devour it when I'm ready! This place it my new favorite lunch stop in Wenatchee. The service is good and the restaurant is casual. In my opinion Pho is all about the broth and the broth in VN Pho is very good. It is flavorful and clear with out a hint of oil on top. My normal is the Seafood Pho it has Shrimp, Scallops and Squid. I get mine without the shrimp. If I wait and eat the Squid at the end it's cooked just right and nice and tender. My wife gets the Chicken dish and enjoys it quite a lot. ( she is not a huge Pho fan odd I know) The one thing is we tried the fresh spring rolls once with out the pork and they seemed to be a little on the tough side, perhaps it was an off day. This is the only Pho restaurant I know in Wenatchee. I thought the restaurant was clean and quiet. The waitress was nice and friendly. The pho was slightly sweeter than all the pho I've eaten. This sweetness comes from sugar,sometimes Msg, instead of the boiled of beef meat and bone. This broth also needs more of the star anise flavor and smell. For a Vietnamese who eat pho growing up, this would deserve 1/2 star. I asked for the fatty broth and they didn't know what it is. All that said, it needs a little more work. read more

Guided by other yeppers, I stopped by this umassuming pho restaurant. Most the tables were taken which is always a good sign in my opinion of yummy food. I ordered the small pho tai nam and it came promptly in a steaming bowl with side plate for the extras. The broth was hearty and the beef was perfectly cooked, practically melting in my mouth. There was a good amount of fresh basil and mung bean spouts and since I like my pho spicy, the jalapenos and extra hot sauce finished it out. I thought the small was perfect for a single serving, however if you're looking for leftovers (or are feeling extra hungry) opt for the large. Being from Hawaii, I've eaten a lot of pho over the years. VN Pho reminded me of home and the flavors transported me back there. Mahalo nui loa! read more
