Phad Thai with chicken, Basil Chicken & Chicken Bahn Mi
    Cecilia M.

The good was good but I feel like the dinner rush made this experience a not so great one. Upon sitting it took almost 15 (maybe even longer) to get our orders in (reading timestamps, we sat at 6:17, & got our food at 6:53). Though we don't mind the wait time as much it was a little too long. When getting my phad Thai it was quite HOT and I am not talking about the spice (I got a level 4). The heat of the food made it harder to truly taste the flavors of it and I was quite disappointed. Besides that everything else tasted very delicious:)

Mai Lee Thai served good food. Per local, getting the food took a long time due to a staff shortage. We checked out, and the staff situation improved--no longer short-staffed. Food is served quickly after 10 minutes.

Ideally I wish I could give it a 3.5 star, but more of a 4 than 3. The service was nice and the mountain views inside are really pretty. Prices were reasonable, $16.95 for a large portion of chicken pad thai. We did order some appetizers and I had leftovers with the entree. I wish there were more chicken in the dish as it was pretty minimal, but the sauce was beautiful and delicious! The Crab Rangoon appetizer was really good! My main issue with the place, albeit small, is that they charged a $2 non-cash fee. I didn't see anywhere that there was such a fee with using a card vs cash. It's not like $2 is a big deal but lately I feel like places are trying to get away with hidden fees that just become a nuisance. Please make prices and fees obvious or just increase the entree fee. Overall, I'd definitely return and it's really nice to have a nice Asian restaurant in Wenatchee!

Having recently returned to Wenatchee after 13 years in Seattle, we were very happy to find Mai Lee Thai again, albeit in a new location. The banner over their door says it all, the "World's Best Asian Restaurant in 2021" (or at least Wenatchee's :-)". I ordered for Take Out, and Sherrie and I served up easily, two days worth of meals from three entrées: Pad Thai Chicken, Sweet'n'Sour Chicken, and Red Curry Chicken--all three of which came with steamed rice. (See the pics!) The flavor pairings were over-the-top delicious on all three entrées. You can choose your level of spiciness from 0 to 5. I think level-1 is just perfect because all the subtle flavors of coconut, lemongrass, and ginger blossom on your palate. As I remember, the business was started by the mother of the two girls, Mai and Lee. Now, several years later, it appears Mai is running the restaurant. Fifteen years ago, she catered a party at our home--it was a combination of seafood, chicken and spring rolls. Their menu has always been a broad selection of Southern Asian cuisine--not just Thai, but a fusion of several cultures. It's definitely worth the time to explore the whole menu before ordering. This is a a 5-Star restaurant!

We were in town snowboarding for Valentine's Day and chose to dine at this Thai restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious!

My husband had Thai curry and I had spring rolls. Everything was fresh and yummy. Good portions too. The ambiance was relaxing and trendy. Paige was our server and she's super nice. When we get back to Wenatchee, we will definitely be back.

I would not eat from here... using metal Brillo pads.

The furniture is light duty but reasonably new. I ordered Won Ton Soup, Chicken Larb (both traditional Thai entrées), and Green Tea. The Won Ton Soup was what the Chinese would call Wor Won Ton, meaning with other ingredients, in this case chicken breast, julienned carrots, romaine lettuce and diced green onion, all in a homemade chicken broth. Indeed the chicken broth was the highlight of the entrée. The won ton noodles had no filling--just noodles. It's the pork sausage that makes the dish, maybe with a shrimp or two, but nope--this was just a good chicken and vegetable soup. The Larb was recognizable as such, but lacked several classic ingredients one would expect--crispy garlic, lemon grass, lime, mint, and peanuts. It did have the crunch of roasted rice, and a hint of fish sauce, but not enough to bind the ground chicken. And the lettuce was served as a chopped salad with carrots, not as scoops for the Larb. Overall, the meal was good, but neither were probably signature entrées of the restaurant. Consequently, I thought the meal was overpriced. And it didn't help that they charged three dollars for hot tea with the meal--complementary anywhere else! I shall have to come back and try their curries for which they claim bragging rights. Otherwise , for this 1st visit it was a 3-star experience, (which is good, right?). I will add, that the two waitresses were excellent, very attentive.

Unfortunately, I was on a work trip, but I could imagine this being the first stop then walking off the food. It is on the smaller side of restaurants, but the evening I visited, there was a party of 8 seated towards the back. I'd recommend parties of 2-4 max, but they can accommodate more if it's a slower night. The service was good, nothing over the top, but nothing below average. As soon as I entered, I was greeted and sat at one of the high tops. This high top was on the smaller side, but since I was just a party of one, it was reasonable and I another high top right next to me to use as well. The food came out pretty quickly, which was nice and they were easy to reach if I needed anything. Very welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the crab Rangoon, crispy chicken Thai basil, and a Thai Iced coffee. The server recommended the crab Rangoon when I asked her which she would choose between the shrimp rolls, spicy crispy chicken wings, or the crab Rangoon. They were solid, nothing crazy, but good. The crispy chicken Thai basil was decent as well; again nothing over the top, but the right portion with some heart shaped rice to go with it. In my opinion, it could use a little more spice. I went with the medium, but it was definitely not spicy at all, so I requested the spice tray to fix that. The Thai iced coffee was exactly what I would want it to taste like. Yes, I would recommend this place. Keep the party smaller. I'll have to try another dish on my next trip out here.

Top and Jenny Rojanisthien reopened his parents' "The Thai Restaurant", renaming it "Top Thai" in April of 2025. Google Top Thai to learn their backstory. Food quality and flavors are second to none. I had Panang Curry on Wagyu Beef this evening, with a Kirin Ichiban beer. Where can you order a Wagyu steak dinner for $28? I'm an accomplished chef and I don't know how they can afford to serve that quality for that price (see the pics). Panang is the sweetest of the curries--a combination of lemon grass, chilies, coriander, garlic, cumin, and peanut in a coconut cream, elevated with palm sugar, fish sauce, and shrimp paste. My dish was garnished in fresh Thai basil and julienned bell pepper. The Wagyu beef was pull-apart--that's no surprise! But honestly, even without the beef, this was the best Panang curry I've ever had. Look over the menu--there are so many popular South Asian food options. I'm going to try the "Larb" next time. Special thanks to "Piah" my waitress who plated the leftovers to take home to Sherrie. I said to Piah, "You forgot to charge me for the Kirin!" Best of Thai (which…read moreas Yelpers have stated is under new management and called Teelak Thai Kitchen according to Google) is a 15 minute drive from the resort. We came at around 4:30pm and the place was already pretty busy. Thankfully, they were able to seat my group of 7 people right away. The menu is pretty extensive and has curry, noodles, soups, fried rice, etc. My boyfriend and I ordered the RAMA NOODLES (4 star) with chicken and the PAD SEE EW (3 star) with chicken. My friends ordered the PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE, the NOODLE BOAT SOUP, the PAD THAI, and the YELLOW CURRY. The PAD RAMA was fantastic. The peanut butter sauce was super creamy and I think had coconut milk in it too giving it that extra richness. It also wasn't overly sweet which was a plus. The chicken was cut nice and thin and there were lots of vegetables. The PAD SEE EW was alright. The waiter warned our group that a 3 star was a 4 star at another restaurant, and he was definitely right. While we enjoy spice (and often order 4-5 stars at other restaurants), 2 stars would've been adequate. It was spicier than the pad Rama, but that was likely because the pad Rama had sauce to cut the spice. Everything else enjoyed their dishes. However, the PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE was overly salty and the NOODLE BOAT SOUP was also pretty spicy. Also, the YELLOW CURRY was huge but tasted different than your typical curry... I'm not sure what it was. As other Yelpers have stated, while the food is great, service can be slow so you can't be in a rush. They have 2-3 ppl on waitstaff seating people, waiting tables, tending the bar, etc. and the food might not come out all at once either (however we had a big group and so that was more understandable). The restaurant is clean inside and they have a huge bathroom that is clean as well. They also play old classic music videos on the TV. Overall: 3.5/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere

I've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. The must-haves:    *   Prawn Rolls with Plum Sauce: Truly amazing. The plum sauce is such a refreshing change from the usual peanut sauce -- light, bright, and perfect with the crispy rolls.    *   Sen Yai with Prawns: My go-to dish, every time. The wide noodles + the peanut red curry sauce = perfection. Comforting, flavorful, and easily one of the best versions I've had anywhere.    *   Thai Basil Salad Dressing: This is so random, but I could literally drink it from a bottle. I had it once with their lunch side salad and immediately wished I could order a glass of it. I don't know what they put in it, but it's addictive. Sugar Thai is one of the most unexpectedly excellent Thai food spots I've encountered -- not just "good for a small town," but genuinely great Thai food, period.
